Checked into BCV on Sunday in a 2 bedroom. First trip- we did a resale last year. Wow is this place nice! Room condition excellent- spotless with only normal wear and tear. Some small pieces of veneer is chipped on some furniture but other than that everything is great. What's up with the toilet paper at disney? We stayed one night at AKL so its not just the DVC resorts. The stuff is like tissue paper that gifts are wrapped in. Place is pretty quiet and parks are lightly crowded. Weather was chilly but a lot better than home- now up into the high 60s. DDE dining card has been great- we left before it could be mailed so we use our E-mail copy and it works fine. If any one has to do as we did make several copies as some of the restaurants want to keep them. We're moving into a studio Friday for one night as the weather has changed our plans a little. It will be nice to compare the two as we now have a dedicated 2 BR. I'll have a more detailed report when we get back home Saturday.

Isn't BCV beautiful? We love it.

Interesting about the DDE experience. Why in the world do you think the restaurants are asking to keep the DDE email? I think I would say NO! But good for you to have made copies!

Have a great stay.

Re: keeping the copy of the e-mail.

I would request it be returned to you and explain that nowhere in that e-mail nor verbal communications when purchased does it say it has to be surrendered. If they insists, then ask them to see the written instructions from Disney that this has to be done. If they still insists ask for the e-mail back and you will pay full price. On the bill write "paying full price due to restaurant insisting to keep the e-mail and wish to have bill adjusted". Then the next day (if after hours otherwise same day) get on the phone with the office in charge of the program and explain the problem.

That's the way I would handle it. There may be other ways.

The first try to keep our e-mail for the DDE was at Tuskers in AK. The cashier also wanted my social security number- like that was going to happen! We got the e-mail back but lost a copy at Morroco- worst dining experience of the trip so we thought why bother as I had others- we just wanted to leave. We paid for the DDE the second day (5 on this trip) - at each meal 1 person ate for free! Every dinner and lunch was wonderful with the Morroco exception. We found Mama Rossas for the first time in probably 12 trips- we just never noticed it before. We also found the Plaza Rest in MK and had a nice lunch. Boma was great, as was Mexico, Italy, Coral Reef, Prime Time, Kona Cafe, Liberty Tree and the others I can't remember right now. As you can probably tell I love the BCV location within walking distance of EPCOT. Did the SEGWAY tour and had a blast!

THANK YOU! for this tip. We begin our trip tomorrow night and had printed only one copy of our emailed membership letter. I'll print out more immediately! :D

I would report this to Disney front office immediately. I believe you ran into an attempt at identity theft. This is where my sony t1 camera comes in handy (the one that is the size of a credit card). If I heard anyone asking my wife for her ss#, there would be a picture taken of that person and security contacted.

NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can someone explain what a DDE card is?

Thanks so much for your report...BCV is our home resort so we are always interested in "reviews". If you don't mind, what room and view did you have. My son, DIL and grandchildren are headed your way this morning...60's sound down right balmy!! It is 8 degrees here on the Cape this morning!

Thanks for your live report.

Could you update us as to the status of the SAB rehab. I would love to know it they think they might get it done before the stated completion date of Feb. 26 due to President's week. From what I have gathered/heard, the resorts are pretty booked that week. The parks are also opened quite late that week which is usually a good indicator that the crowds will be big.

Also with the DDE card do you have to have an AP pass to get this? Can you get a list of restaurants that are included?

Thank you. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

No, it was not identity theft. I am a former Disney Store CM, and we had to give our social all the time to get our dining discount.

and we're in for quite a bit of snow on Sunday too :( DVC take me away!

Jean & Bob,

We just checked out of our 2BR BCV on Wed! Thought Disney was cold, wait till you feel home!!! Just hope you're not flying in Sat with all the snow expected.

My husband and father in law did the Segway tour this past Mon and loved it. I'm game to try it next time.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Yeah, it looks like we're going to get anywhere from 1 foot-2 feet of snow.
UGH!!!!!
I wanna go on vacation!

Just got back home this morning. We changed from a Sat 4:30 flight to a 8:00 as Maryland was supposed to get 8-12" of snow. My son met us at BWI and driving home the car said 17 degrees outside- what a difference!

There was a note in our room saying SAB should be completed Feb 25. It's hard to say by looking how far along they are but they'll probably meet schedule. The Yacht Club lazy river is open which looks to be about 1/3 of the total pooll, and the DVC pool and spa are open.

The DDE (Disney Dining Experience) was $50 with an AP and I think $75 without- so you may be able to get it without the AP but I'm not sure. It gives a 20% discount on food AND beverages (yes-wine,beer etc) and is accepted everywhere except Japan and some of the small pastry shops and cart like food services. I don't have the exact list as they come with the card itself but the above is what we found to be the case. We paid for the card with our second meal and highly reccommend it for anyone who does dinner/lunches out.

Our 2 BR was 433 with a view that stretched from the American pavillion in world showcase to spaceship earth. There are a lot of trees back there so views were not unobstructed but high fireworks and music from Epcot were easy to see and hear. We moved to a studio 269 for Friday and it was right next to the "road". I wouldn't like this room for 5 days- I guess higher floors are above the road so that it's a little better.

Room conditions were very good with no problems that needed correcting. We loved the washer and packed lighter knowing we could wash clothes. My daughter packed a small tupper ware container of laundry detergent and some extra dishwasher tablets. We can't find laundry tablets anywhere. We hit the publix for milk, juice, wine, soda and a few snacks.

Excellent trip and look forward to many more.

We haven't been able to find any either... We thought it might be a regional thing... but you are on the opposite coast from us.

Would love to find someplace where we could buy laundry tablets for our trip.

DDE = Disney Dining Experience. It costs $50 and gives 20% off dining at several WDW restaurants. It used to be available for Florida residents only, but now is available for Annual Pass holders as well.
