live first trip home at SSR

Greetings folks, we are live on our first trip home at SSR! We love it here! Buses have been great! We are staying in Grandstand Studio rm 9212. the weather has been absoutly gorgeous! just here for the weekend and boy are we glad we picked SSR

thanks a lot. we are having a great time. very relaxing. we are not hustling and bustling to and from the parks, just taking time to do it our way this trip. I do however completly recommend anyone who visits SSR to eat at the Turf Club. we had a wonderful anniversary meal and even better service!

this morning turned out to be we didn't want to go to any parks, so we just decided to go to the pool in the morning, we were there for about two hours and the urge to mini golf struck us... we went back to our room, changed and headed to the bus station for the Winter/ Summerland golf course. People have said that buses have been bad at SSR, but honestly on this trip we have not waited more than 5 mins for any bus! we arrived at the golf course and decided to play the summer course and boy did we have fun! More to come later

Thank you for sharing your trip with all of us. I will be there at SSR in 50 days and reading your trip makes me really wish it was more like 5!!!!

I love SSR and never stress over the buses. I think as long as you plan enough time to get from one point to another...there is nothing to stress about. My motto on vacation is.....if I won't remember it in 5 years from now it really is not worth stressing over. Better to make the good memories than to dwell on the little stuff.

Keep your report coming and I will keep enjoying it!!!!

so when i last left off I was just relaxing in the room after mini- golf! We decided while we were relaxing that we were going to play last evening by ear. when we finally got moving we headed to the bus stop and decided we wanted to go to MK. We got on the bus after waiting no more than 5 mins and we were on our way. it was great, the park was a little crowded but we didn't mind we just walked around and took it all in for the first few mins. the only thing we have wanted to ride all trip was Space Mountain, but for some reason it has had the longest line so we didn't ride it. we rode haunted mansion, splash, small world, winnie pooh and jungle cruise and left the park right after wishes was over. we didn't have a hard time getting a bus on the way home either. it was so fantastic. I can say that I am sick of the brazilin tour groups, they are everywhere!!!!!!

As for today I think today is going to be a picture taking day thru epcot and MK, as long as DF gets up!

We are leaving for SSR on Saturday for a 5 day no parks trip. We've probably done about 10 trips since we joined DVC, but have never played mini-golf before, and were thinking of doing it on this trip. Did you get a DVC discount?

I'm glad to hear you have had good luck with the buses! We were there over Easter this year, and the bus situation wasn't so good! Of course, that is to be expected during Easter, but I have heard so many others say the same thing during other times.

Couldn't agree more about the Turf Club! We ate there during our Easter trip, and had a great meal! We have a reservation for dinner on Sunday - can't wait!

there is a 15 percent dvc discount, but we used the 50 percent annual pass discount! we are actually thinking of goin again tonight, if the weather doesn't get nasty, but right now, it looks as if it is

I can say that I am sick of the brazilin tour groups, they are everywhere!!!!!!

Boy can we ever agree to that! I am not sure who is left in Brazil right now! Last week, we even had our busses hijacked by some tour groups at SSR. They arrived there on a park busses, then turned around and filled the next three busses to DTD! I know that they are paying Disney guests and are entitled to all Disney transportation, but this was very frustrating. After the first bus was filled, we ended up just using the boat. We normally vacation in June and do not recall ever seeing this many tour groups.

We love SSR and it great to hear that you are have a wonderful time. We also make sure to get to the Winter/Summer course - Winter is my fav (makes me feel cooler when its hot).

so after our first trip home I have come to the conclusion that I LOVE and am very glad that we bought into dvc. I was highly concerned about buying in, but after this trip i am sure glad that we did. now i just have sept to look forward to, when we go to the Beach club for our big trip!
