Live at BCV!!!!! My first live report.......

We LOVE LOVE LOVE BCV especially for summer trips.

I feel that way about it any time of the year. I especially love the smell in the lobby. My apologizes in advance to anyone walking in in back of me when I enter for the first time. I take a deep breath, smile, and think "There! Now I'm home!" Did you take in any movies on the beach? They just started them a couple years ago, and it's become one of my little favorites. I'm hoping they don't get discontinued.

Totally makes sense! The kids would probobly love taking a boat across the lake! Thanks for sharing that info!

Have fun! Hope to see some pics, too!!! I'd love to see some additional room pics!

I'm really out of shape, and still walk from BwV to Y&BC. I have only taken the boat on the one evening that I wore high heels. I wanted to look nice at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

What is that smell?? LOL I have yet to smell it?! Yes my kids have been down there a couple of times at night for the movies. they don't stay for the entire thing...just hang out a while. It is raining a lot this afternoon with thunder storms and SAB is closed, so the ARCADE IS FREE!!!! The boys have been in there quite a long time now. MY kids have yet to be bored here at BCV.

Okay so the guys all went to Typhoon at opening. The girls all went to DTD for shopping. IT WAS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got there around 9:45 and stayed for about 3 hours I guess maybe longer.

I bought my daughter the Cinderella glass slipper at Arribas Brothers and GOT A 10% DVC discount. :cool1:Love it when you can get those DVC discounts. Of course I had to pick up a another matted print (summer magic is the name) at the Art of Disney store on the right across from the Christmas store when you are coming from the bus drop off (I love the art work there) I got another summer print at Poly when we were there too. I also got my daughter a Jim Shore figurine of Belle on a carousel horse at this same store. She wants to collect all 5 of those. So we started that collection. :goodvibes We had to stop at the Christmas store coming and going which began with me buying one ornament on the way into the Market Place and buying two more on the way out. :rotfl2:So we hit the pin shop and the new Trend shop. The girls loved that shop.

Then WOD BABY!!!!!!!! I had my list and WENT TO TOWN!!!!! I got the new tote bag with purchase too. I got some great stuff. I was very happy with my shopping trip. :yay: I love their new summer dishes/bowls. I love the pattern so I had to get 6 of each. I love the kitchen stuff at WOD and I always get it there for the 10% discount. We had lunch at Wolfegang Puck's and USED THE DVC DISCOUNT AGAIN............... Yummy yummy.'

THEN THE SKIES OPENED UP....and it started blowing sideways when we were at the bus stop waiting TO LEAVE. We must have waited almost 30 min. UGH Then of course you have to go by Typhoon, Swan, Dolphin and Yacht Club before getting to BCV. That took FOREVER!!

So after we got back we went to the Gift Shop to pick up our other shopping from yesterday at Mousegears. The pool was closed so the arcade was free all afternoon for the kids. :dance3: They were in heaven. :cloud9:

So tonight our friends are having dinner at THE CASTLE and we have yet to decide what we are doing. Tomorrow is LeCellier for lunch. :yay:Can't wait.

A girls only DTD shopping trip sounds like so much fun! Sounds like you did some damage. Is the arcade at BCV always free when it is raining? What Disney magic if it is! Have you seen Art the greeter yet? Our first stay at BCV is just a month away - can't wait!!!! Enjoying your TR!

I love your live report! We are going Labor Day weekend but staying 4 nights in a dedicated two bedroom and I CANNOT WAIT! This will only be our second stay here. Our first was two years ago so its been a while. I am also curious about the arcade being free if SAB is closed, so does anyone know if that is always the case?

OP - have a great lunch tomorrow at LC!!

I think the bus routes are the only thing I don't like about BCV (and BWV) - there are so many stops. Other than that I like everything about the EPCOT resorts.

We have a lunch ADR at Le Cellier  for our trip that starts in less than 3 weeks! It seems easier to book the earlier time slots.

Your trip report is gearing me up for our August trip! Keep enjoying :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. We will be at the BWI in less than 60 days and I am living vicariously through other people's TRs!! BCVs sound wonderful. My family (DD, SIL & 2DGDs, 1DGS + 4 other extended family members which includes one 7 yr. old) are coming down next May and have reservations at OKW, our home resort, (1br, 2br) and they all want me to try and switch to the BCVs at the 7 mo. window, however, my DH has arthritic knees and I am thinking that the walking just to the room from the lobby may be too long a walk for him, not mentioning the walk to the boat dock. He doesn't complain but I have to think of him, too. We may compromise and try the BWVs instead. We all love OKW so will not be disappointed if we can't make the switch.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your vacation and looking forward to more updates!:)

We are further away from the breezeway on the first floor in the villa bldg than last year. It does take longer to get to the lobby. We actually took the boat tonight from BW side to the BCV just because it was arriving when we were walking by. Something "new" to do. LOL We stayed at BWV two summers ago and we thought the hallways there were long too..but NOT as bad as some people complain about.

I also LOVE OKW. I was just telling my husband how I loved that living room area at OKW. We are all in the living room area here watching a movie tonight with the kids and that OKW livingroom in the 2 br. can't be beat. It is sooooooo spacious. We stayed there 8 nights last year before moving here to BCV for 6. We also stayed at OKW this past Jan. for 6 nights. It is a nice resort. :thumbsup2

I agree about the buses. We have friends staying here and they drove to FL so they drive everywhere. They like that better. WE LOVE LeCellier and try and get a ressie most trips but don't always get it. Tomorrow will be our 3rd trek over to EC. I am happy my kids love EC. :worship: WHEW!!!! My son wants a pair of shoes from the UK soccer store so that will be so easy to pick up on out way out the gate. :thumbsup2

NO we have not seen Art this trip yet. Our friends that were here before us have not seen him either. I hope he is okay. I don't know if the arcade does that every time there is bad weather....but today SAB was closed for quite a while so maybe that is why. Once at SSR it was free one day too. I don't think it was rainy then though.

IT was fun shopping. IT was my friend and I along with her 15 year old daughter and my 18 year old daughter. We didn't feel rushed like we do when hubbies and boys tag along. ;)

Okay my 15 year old son and hubby wanted me to tell you that the gym at Beach Club is GREAT. They like it best so far of all the resorts.

Tonight we walked (the rain ended by 5:30) to the BW to eat at Big River Grill...they have scafolding up so you can't see out the windows. :lmao: NO BW view at all. The windows were covered. I didn't like the food tonight. We ate there last summer and enjoyed it. My husband had the meatloaf and it was A TON OF FOOD and he said it was good. My daughter and I got the cheese soup and shared the nachos. They were not that great. I asked her on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best beef nachos she has ever had) what she would rate them and she said a 2. Blech!!! The soup wasn't as good as last year either. I think I will skip BRG next BCV trip. HOWEVER...it pays to ask about that DVC discount....THEY TAKE IT NOW. :cool1: Last year they didn't.....so I love a little DVC discount where I can get it especially when the meal was just so so. We took the boat back across..have never done that. It happened to be coming when we were walking out. So tonight we are just chillin in the room. The kids got a movie to watch. Tomorrow we are headed back to EC. We have a lunch ressie at LeCellier. I told my daughter if that is a let down.........then I will agree with some on Dis that say the food is going down hill. :scared:

Our best meals so far was Ohana breakfast. That was SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! I am so glad we did the Ohana breakfast. It has been a very long time. Well worth it. We also enjoyed the meal at WCC!!! That was yummy.

We joined DVC Jan. O7 and our first trip was a split between SSR and BWV in Aug. 07. Then we stayed at SSR in Nov. 07 then OKW and BCV last July. We stayed at SSR in Nov. 08, OKW Jan. 08 and now BCV/AKV this trip. We are all realizing that we are enjoying LESS and less time in the parks and more relaxing and enjoying DVC. We have all concluded that we could easily come to WDW and stay a week without hitting a park. IT is funny how DVC has changed our commando park trips. They are a thing of the past!!!!!:yay::cool1::thumbsup2

I had read a thread a few weeks ago about Art the greeter having some sorrt of surgery and being out for a while. I don't think it was very serious so no worries. But thats why no one is seeing him around right now. Good vibes to Art!

Thanks for the updates. Your girls only shopping trip sounds fabulous. I can't go into the Art of Disney store or the Christmas store without wanting to spend my entire year's salary. Dangerous for me! I'm happy you found some good stuff.

Keep the updates coming. And I can't wait for the pics when you get home. :goodvibes

I have arthritis too and before our last trip I went to the orthopedic doc and got a shot of cortizone in my worst knee!:thumbsup2 It helped SO much!! I had been afraid of how I was going to get around but it really made 100% difference for me! If he's never tried that before I would suggest giving it a try before a trip to Disney! Since then I have started seeing a new Rheumatologist and am now on a new regimen of meds so no more shots! But I sympathize with him!!

Great report!! We had our second BCV stay June 24-July 1 and it was great. We saw Art when we were there and got the kids' picture taken with him. I'm having serious withdrawls reading your report but keep it comin'...
