Preschoolers are generally age 3-5, and I believe the LOEMH's also appeal to the toddler set as well (13mos-2yrs).
Allearsnet here: http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/magbeg.htm
has an article from last years "Magical Beginnings" which includes LOEMH's and maybe that will help you decide if its appropriate for your LO's.
We were there last year for LOEMH...it was REALLY cute. My girls last summer were 4(almost 5), 3 1/2 and 9 months...they all had a great time.
We rode all the rides in Fantasyland in about 25 minutes,... my girls played duck duck goose with Minnie and Daisy, danced with Snow White,Dopey and Chip and Dale, played follow the leader with Peter Pan and wendy..until Captain Hook came along..lol Stitch rode Dumbo with a little girl right in front of us...anyway it was a really good time.
When we were there it didn't seem like a lot of people took advantage of it.
LOEMH is generally for 6 and under. I don't think they will question anyone around that age. I did not hear anyone question anyones age. We did this with our 2 year old last September. It was terrific! We are looking forward to it again this year.
Do you have to have a special ticket to take advantage of LOEMH? Or is this some thing for resort guests only? I am going in October, but staying off site.
Anyone can go to it even if they don't have kids! It's just that the attractions are appealing to little ones. I love all the attractions too so you might just find DD and I there! LOL! Edited to add that I mean ANY resort guest can go. This is not for offsite guests.

Is it just at MK or is it at other parks? I'm guessing it has to be at MGM as well because of the playhouse. For some reason I'm confused. It's differnt than the EHM right? I'm looking forward to this since I think my 2 y/o might get tired during the day..
My DD will be 6 when we go in Oct., and the CM on the phone last night said she would be the "perfect age". I was thinking for some reason it was for up to about age 8? Maybe I've read too many guidebooks!

It might be recommended for certain ages but any age can attend and ride the rides. Big kids and adults like Dumbo just as much as the little ones. Even adults with no kids can go and ride.
