Well believe it. You should go check out the website run by CM's and you may be surprised at what they are told to ignore or accept from guest. There have even been cast members on here who have said just that when it comes to enforcing line cutting and some rude behavior.

Sounds to me like you've got a group of disgruntled workers then, which happens everywhere. I'm not naive enough to say Disney is perfect, not by any stretch of the imagination. I simply think that everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether based in fact or not.

Going back to the original point of the thread, I do not let anyone spoil my vacation! I'm always polite, but firm whenever situations like the ones described occur. If they persist and you stand your ground, eventually you'll attract the attention of someone working who will back you up on your stance.

Smile people, you're on vacation!:)

In a perfect "world" (pun intended) this would be true, unfortunately this more often than not is simply not the way it is. I have had more than one occassion where I have refused to allow a tour group to line hop in front of me only to be overwhelmed by well over 20+ or more all in the clear vision and witness of a cm. When I asked the cm if he was going to call security and do something about it he just shrugged his shoulders and did nothing about it. Not going to let it ruin my vacation, but it sure is frustrating when this happens.

True! What about the thread on here a few weeks ago, where the poster talked about the incident at the Main Street Bakery where there was a long line, but a dad just walked to the front of the line and ordered, saying that his kids were hungry and he shouldn't have to wait in line. Even with an outcry the CM didn't want to deal with him, so let him get by with i,t even with the person who was next in line raising heck.

Again Disney for the most part does nothing to stop this kind of behavior just a do a little search on here and you will see stories from both CM's and guest about just that and neither are disgruntle. I love Disney just as much as the others however I am able to admit their short comings and this is one of them. I also don't let anyone ruin my vacation we normally vacation at the end of July which is tour group time and we just steer clear of them. If a group of 40 of them come barreling through the line I just let them through because if the CM is going to stand there and not stop them neither and I but thanks anyway for the pep talk on how to behave with them. Last year we watched them push through guest in a line like a pack of wild dogs, ignore CM's request to move all the way down the row, tear through a store and leave it look like a tornado hit, and the most appalling behavior eat and get up leaving a ridiculous mess expecting someone else to clean it up for them.

The old saying; "Money Talks!" comes to mind here.

But the problem is that we have become complacent in our society and for the most part we (as a society) tend to look the other way at other's often rude and agressive behavior. Why? Well most of us don't want to become the one that they often dispell their agression upon. I get it, but if we don't all collectively do something about it, then this behavior becomes acceptable as the norm.

I have encountered it in the past from parents of PopWarner Cheerleaders at POFQ a few years ago, and when I said something back to the mom about not needing to be rude her answer was not so nice. She stood there cussing at me at a bus stop and no one came to my defense (my DH and kids were no where around to hear it, they were swimming at POR pool). I stood my own, but still her behavior was awful, just so she could get on the bus first!!!!

But none of us should ever look the other way, its Bullying!

What are POP Warner cheerleaders?

What are POP Warner cheerleaders?

Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading is a Jr. Level Football and Cheerleading league. Usually school age kids (age 6-15 or so). They have the Super Bowl competition at WDW over at ESPN every year during the 1st week in Dec. The kids come down in large groups from each area of the country and they compete in Football and Cheer. The chaperones tend to be the worst offenders of bad behavior in the past, but it could be getting better. I just know after our last encounter with them a few years ago, we decided to avoid being in the World when they are there.

I'm not against Cheerleaders, both of my daughters cheer for their schools and one of them is competitive so its not a cheer thing, its a cheer mom thing and the mentality that comes with this particular group.

Do you really think that the CMs have any power over unruly guests?
A lot of them are college students and I am sure BTGs and adults will listen to them.

Like the earlier posted said... just move on an enjoy your vacation.

I didn't let the barf bother me that was on my shoulder from a sunburned kid on the bus to my ADR in Epcot. Rinsed the shirt in the sink and went on.

People are rude everywhere....

The answer to that is yes. Use a radio and call security.;)

Not to compare WDW to a place like Cedar Point, but they do just this and do not permit these large groups of line jumping to take place.

Thanks!!!!Pretty sure I would not want to be around this group either. I just don't get parents/chaperons who allow their group to behave like this. Maybe it is just the teacher/ former camp counselor in me but I would never allow this from my own children or the children I were responsible for. People are so self-centered and entitled these days.

I can make excuses for the crying, misbehaving children, it's understandable, they are over stimulated, overwhelmed, over tired! Prob from being off their usual schedule and kept up too late.

But from people old enough to know better- not so much.

But in both cases, it's up to the adults ( parents, chaperones) to take care of the situation. The BTG chaperones don't seem to have a handle on the situation, but many parents at Disney don't either. ;)

I've been there when these tour groups were there, including cheerleading groups, but have never had any issues or run-in's with any of them.

However, can't say that I'd want to stay at a resort where they were staying. From most comments I've heard, they can be noisy until late in the night, and that would bug me more than anything else.

I'm sure the kid couldn't help it, but eww.

Great that you let it roll off your shoulder (pun intended, lol) and made the best of it.:thumbsup2

Has anyone sent an email to Disney with their complaints? It sounds like these are not isolated incidents, but something that occurs regularly. Maybe if someone hears enough complaining about the behavior of these groups they will be motivated to do something. :lmao: Seriously... if everyone in this thread who had a bad experience with a BTG wrote emails, that is a lot of emails about the same subject. Maybe we could start an email campaign! :stir:

Once we did complain, Disney's response was the Brazilian Tour Groups are our guests too.

That's kind of an annoying response, isn't it.

As if the tour groups' pleasure and enjoyment is more important than the average individual family who visits there.

Kind of explains why cm's don't really have much authority.

They are welcome to be guests, but they are NOT welcome to treat other guests like CRAP!!!! I don't how you look at it. Would you be allowed to treat others like that? No, but then again, nor would we do so. The difference is that there are other cultures who have complete disrespect for us in the United States, which is why they think it is ok to disrespect us in our own country.

I still stand by my original statement; It's BULLYING!!!!!

If I have another incident with them getting knocked over, i will do this.
