How is it Disney's responsibility? Its the parent's and chaperone's responsibility. A "code of conduct" would require them to READ. You think they are going to read it and do it?

How can children be held accountable for their actions when they see parents doing the exact same things.
You go to a place with crowds, you are going to encounter rude folks! I speak up and say "excuse me" really loud... or say NO! like the previous poster.

It's the "All about me society" that has been created and you have to stand your own ground. The days of being nice and kind to others is gone...

Disney fails when it comes to stopping rude behavior by guest. Cast members are told to turn their head with line cutters and other rude behaviors. The only time they do something about it is when it gets physical or a guest can hurt themselves or others.

So is August any better? We leave August 1st and I want to be prepared.

It was in 2010. We were there over 11 nights from July 29-August 9. We saw several tour groups the first few days, but by August 1st or 2nd they were pretty much gone. Maybe we saw one or two groups in each park the first few days of August, then nothing.

Just don't get on a fast past machine line behind a person in a brightly colored shirt that says Brasil on the back. He/she may stand there for 15 minutes collecting hundreds of FPs. We learned our lesson our very first day at Soarin'.

Late June 07 was the last time we were at Disney. We did encounter a couple tribes from Brazil Usually when we saw them we went the other way. Hard to do that though when there is a LOT of groups. Although I do remember 1 time when we couldn't avoid them. A bunch of them started to run trying to get past me. I stood my ground. A couple tried to push me out of the way. They bounced off me. See I'm, 6'5 295 lbs. Nobody gets by me unless I let them. I turned around to see who was next. The whole group stopped dead in their tracks and stayed behind me. I laughed!!!!! :rotfl2:

I don't have a ton of experiences with these groups but my take on it is this:

They are teenagers. Teenagers in packs are annoying, no matter what country they are from. I'm sorry, but they are! The problem is the lack of guidance from the chaperones. I do think some cultural differences come into play at times ( different definitions of personal space being one) but ultimately they are teens being teens and the annoying behavior will continue until they have better, stricter supervision or until Disney decides enough is enough ( not holding my breath for either.)

My Brazilian co workers would change there name tags to an "American" name with an American city so the BTG would not know they were Brazilian themselves. They said they would say in Portuguese, "we are from the same country. You should give me a discount" lol. My Brazilian co workers didn't even like the BTGs. Also, not all of them are BTG. We also had 1000 of Argentinean teen girls, celebrating their 15 birthdays. But they were more well behaved.

But the BTG, the chaperones were not too much older than the children really. As when they came into stores, it would look like a tornado came thru. I don't mind when people tried on Mickey ears, but was pretty annoying when 75 of them would come try them on, look at me, and drop them on the floor. Grrrr

I had a friend in mouse keeping that said she went to clean a room and found poo in the bathtub. She also quit that day! Lol lol lol.

I find it hard to believe that cast members are told to turn their heads to anything. Should CM's do something about that kind of behavior? Absolutely. Can they? That's a diffferent question.

I've experienced tour groups at all times of the year. I find it puzzling that so many people get so upset by the actions of these groups that it ruins their vacation. If I ever saw a group of them in front of me at an attraction, I'd skip it and get to it later. If they were behind me and they tried to move past me, I turn around, smile, and stand my ground. I tell them politley but firmly that they have to wait in line just like the rest of us. And make no mistake about it, there is always someone around in their group that understands English perfectly. I haven't had any problems yet!

And I guarantee if they don't understand the language I'm speaking, they will certainly understand my tone!!!! Its that MOM tone that says, you've gone a bit too far!!! :furious:

I had no problem with the BTG kids. Everyone can go to WDW. I did have a problem with the leaders. Now they are adults and they were rude. They had there feet up at Casey's on the chairs and refused to move them. Our party moved over so others could sit thinking they would move there feet. No, I ended up standing because I was trying to be nice. What, so their feet could have a seat? We were trying to make a place for a family with young kids. I have no patients for "I don't speak English" sorry but if I was in other countries would you not expect me to speak your language at least a little?

I agree completely. Stop looking at them as if they are "bed bugs" or "love bugs". They are teenagers...I remember my teenage years. They have to be reminded of what is acceptable behavior whether it comes from the CM's, chaperones or offended guests.

I take back what I said earlier. Some of the kids were rude when I asked a CM if they were going to do something I was told no rudely as he walked away. I gather they bring in alot of money to WDW so I will guess they will be there July and Jan yearly. We were told at 15 it is a gift from families. So most of the kids are 15.

We met a family and they had a name for the large group we ran into it was maybe 100-150 people so many hard to tell. They called them "the SWARM"
made me laugh as it was such a good description.

Well believe it. You should go check out the website run by CM's and you may be surprised at what they are told to ignore or accept from guest. There have even been cast members on here who have said just that when it comes to enforcing line cutting and some rude behavior.

If they say they don't speak English tell them there's a spider on their shirt and see if they look down. :goodvibes

To live, yes.

As just a tourist? No

I've been to many foreign countries as a tourist without speaking the language.

So, it's ok for them to knock you over if you are unfortunate to be in the way of where they are wanting to go :confused3

Of course not. But I have been knocked over by anxious families wanting to get ahead on line, crying, misbehaving children at restaurants, etc. Maybe we should classify these groups too. To me, they are more annoying than the BTG's. All of this is unacceptable behavior.

I can make excuses for the crying, misbehaving children, it's understandable, they are over stimulated, overwhelmed, over tired! Prob from being off their usual schedule and kept up too late.

But from people old enough to know better- not so much.
