Lite refurb scheduled at VWL

While Madam Gracey and I ate our room service pancakes the other morning, there was a knock at the door.
A gentleman asked if he could come in for a survey of the furnishings. He had a clip board and was taking notes on certain items.
He said this is the initial process for a lite refurb of the villas. He said bids for the work will go out very soon.
We asked how extensive the refurb will be, and he said soft stuff like carpet, paint, possibly draperies...
He said no appliances, but not sure about furniture.

*Although I didn't hear it, my wife said she heard him say something about "theme enhancement" .
That would be very interesting, but I would settle for a heave-ho of the black & white chair...

We are headed there for Christmas for the first time! It is nice to know things might be freshened up by then. However, I won't know exactly what has changed and what hasn't.

As for the balck and white chair. . .we'll let you know!

I wonder how long it will take? I'm taking newbies to WDW and staying at the lodge next May.

What I'd really get excited about is flat screen TV's! The ones they have now are on their last leg.

this happened to us the last week of April as well. Woman with the clipboard was taking note of cracked floor tiles in the kitchen, broken light fixtures outside. Didn't seem like anything too major. Just hoping for flat screens and new sofa beds here!!!

Hopefully they will get the laundry room on the 1st floor "updated". It was in need of repair (mainly cosmetic). I did send an email to dvc to let them know in case they weren't aware of the situation. I don't imagine that with the one and two bedrooms they have many people are using the 1st floor laundry.

We make our first trip home this November and are taking some family who have never been- it would be great to see everything all spruced up
