List of Questions...

Well my standards are to not have black feet after walking on the floor...we stayed at a hotel not too long ago in a little town called Winnemucca NV, we paid $69 a night and the floors turned our feet black, the shower had black mold all over in it and the walls had hair stuck to them. Let's see, the door had a big huge gap all the way around so light shone in all night....and when we went to check out the managers were no where to be found...I should have disputed the charge on my card but I didn't.....I wish I had...LOL So I'm super careful about those super cheap hotels now..LOL

LOL! Yeah black feet are not something I fancy either. :lmao: But almost any hotel I've stayed at has had that problem. Usually we bring towels or blankets to set on the floor so we can walk on those. We also never get room service because all they really do is make the beds and put things where they don't go. I've never liked having a maid, but my ex- step dad always had money to burn so we had a maid, and I always found myself cleaning everything up so the maid could clean. No offense to any maids are there, I just like taking care of things myself! :)

I have yet another question... How many buffet-style dining is at DLR? We're thinking buffet would be a nice way to eat because we love eating at Sweet Tomatoes. I know of one country style buffet, somewhere around the BTMRR, but that's all I know.

*There is the Plaza Inn Minnie & Friends breakfast in the Park hosted by Kellogg's.

PlazaInnBreakfastDiningPage

*Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue is all that you can eat.

•Chip 'n Dale Critter Breakfast: An all-you-can-eat buffet and menu items served at the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel Storytellers Cafe.

•Goofy's Kitchen Breakfast: The most fun, food wise (peanut butter pizza, mac'n'cheese - for breakfast!) with lots of dancing and quite a few characters on hand.

•Lilo and Stich Aloha Breakfast: All-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at the PCH Grill in Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel.

Priority Seating is recommended and can be made in person for these locations on a limited basis. Priority Seating can also be arranged in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE, or (714) 781-3463.
I personally suggest making a p.s. that way one can avoid disappointment.

Almost every hotel you've stayed at has turned your feet black?? You're staying at the wrong hotels then sweetie! LOL Seriously, that was only the second or third time that's ever happened to me and look at my siggie to see how many hotels I've stayed in this year....LOL I can honestly say that has never happened to me at any of the hotels on Harbor! :)

Well I guess we never really tested it because we always assume that the floors will be dirty, so we always have towels with us. :) Sorry it took a while to get back!

But I'm back with another question. I read somewhere that if you have Delux Ap's that you pay less when you go to the park on your block out days. True? If it is we will definitely be getting delux's instead because we just don't want to spend that much money for premies!

Block out day tickets are $45.

Block out day tickets are $45.

cool! thanks for letting me know! :goodvibes

I pretty much have my trip planned out (not PLANNED, but what we're going to do at least) just waiting for the park hours to be up and I'll put everything together!! I also have to make a list of things for DBF to pick from to surprise me with. :) What would your list be?

I've already posted that on your other thread asking that. :) I did want to say that yes, black out passes are $45, but think long and hard about how much you want to go, if you'll be going over weekends and make sure you know what the black out days ARE, because the price difference (especially when you count free parking) can be less then you think. Think about it, a Deluxe is $289, parking is additional, I think someone said it's $79 now so if you get both of those you're at $368, so not much more for the Premium.....now, if you don't want the parking because you're planning to stay within walking distance the Deluxe is $289, the Premium is $429, that's a difference of $140, if you go 3 times and have to buy black out passes then you should have gone with Premiums to begin with. And that is without them raising the price of a black out pass ticket.....something to consider. :)

Yeah, good point... plus we will have our 6 day PH's to upgrade, so that will get rid of the cost too. I will have to talk to DBF about it! :) I am afraid of having an AP. I will probably end up going a little too much. Yeah I know you posted :), I was just posting it in case some people don't go on the community thread and didn't see it, just to get a few more ideas! I only have like 3 written down! I guess there really isn't much more he can do though, I am just thinking about asking for 15 different things from around here for Christmas and he can pick one of those, haha.

You will definitely go too much....we went 14 times with our APs from July 07-July 08, and those were Deluxe APs.....we been a lot this year too and we still have 3 more trips planned this year! LOL Once you have that AP you will do everything possible to squeeze "just one more" trip out of it.....trust me! LOL I'm going to feel rich next year when we aren't spending all our extra money going to DL/DCA! :) But, we have loved having the freedom to go so much!

Ohh jeeze, lol. How far away do you live? How much do you spend on each trip? I guess not having to buy tickets, parking, and having discounts on food will help with the cost a lot, but still. Haha I will have to think about it. Everyone thought we went too many times this year but wow, 14! :lmao: We went on about 5 trips. All only weekends except for a 5 day trip in May. I don't get why people criticize us so much for what we love doing. Everyone has their happy place and Disneyland happens to be ours. Some girls love shoes, some love getting their hair done, and I would trade those for a trip any day!

You may want to do the math.

5 trips, weekends only = 10 days
Plus 5 day trip in May

15 days

Depending on what tickets you are buying, what parking, etc. you are doing... you may very well have been better off with APs.

Well, since DBF has decided to make my dream come true, I have a whole new mess of questions! We are staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel. I still don't believe it, but it's true! So here I go!

1. Before check in at 3, where do we park? Are we allowed to park there or do we have to buy parking at the garage?
2. Our package will include a Toon Town ticket. We won't be using it, and I read that people sell them on Ebay, so I could just do this?
3. Do all rooms have a view of at least a parking lot?
4. Is there a way to upgrade your hotel and not spend all 5 nights downstairs but get to go up top for a theme park view for 1 or 2 nights?
5. Is there free breakfast?
6. Is there a resort fee of $16?
7. The Costco package comes with "Premium Character Dining." How much does this include? I can go to either Ariel's Grotto or Goofy's Kitchen, but is it just once?
8. Is there a way I can say we are celebrating our anniversary and get something a little extra?
9. What do you call to send in those cute little gift baskets? And how much are they?
10. Is there an entrance into DCA? I could have sworn I read that about PP, not just GCH.

Thanks so much everyone! You've all made my trip planning so much easier!

Yay, you're going to Disneyland! Woohoo!

As for your questions:

3. Do all rooms have a view of at least a parking lot?

For all 6 of these questions, I would call the hotel. They will be able to provide you with the most accurate and recent information and would very easily (and quickly) answer each of these questions.

2. Our package will include a Toon Town ticket. We won't be using it, and I read that people sell them on Ebay, so I could just do this?
I have never had a ToonTown ticket nor sold anything on ebay, but you can sell just about anything on ebay, so I am sure you could. (Or you could give it away to someone on DIS who is wanting one.) :goodvibes

7. The Costco package comes with "Premium Character Dining." How much does this include? I can go to either Ariel's Grotto or Goofy's Kitchen, but is it just once?
The paperwork or offer should say what it includes. Is there a phone number? Since we don't know specifically what package you bought, this is a difficult question for people here to answer.

8. Is there a way I can say we are celebrating our anniversary and get something a little extra?
You can let the hotel know that it is your anniversary. They can note it in your reservation. You may or may not get freebies, but you will allmost certainly get anniversary wishes.

Here's to an exciting trip,
Dreams

P.S. Just for my own confusion, you mention anniversary, but also DBF. Do you mean husband? :confused3

Ok that sounds good, I was going to call sometime this week but just wanted to see if anyone had gotten the Costco package and knew anything about it! If I can find a way to give it away to someone on here (depending on what DL sends me or whatever), I will most likely just do that! Or give it to someone at the park, or whatever. Ok I will let them know we are celebrating our anniversary. :) Thanks so much!

Oh and yeah it's our anniversary for how long we have been dating (well, not during our trip, but it's an early celebration for our 4th year in April). I know, people always ask why we are not married, but we're too young and poor for that right now. :rotfl:

Ah, gotcha! No question coming from me regarding getting married. DH and I were together 7 years when we said, "I do." Every couple has their own timing for their own reasons. :goodvibes

Yeah! I think if you can stay together for a long time without a legal document holding you together, then you should be good to get married. :lovestruc Coming from a whole family of divorces, I can not be too careful! :lmao:

And a few more questions!! Haha, this is fun. :rotfl:

1. Where is Lucky Fortune Cookery?
2. Is anyone allowed in the Grand California Hotel DCA Park entrance?
3. I am tempted to go to DLR before F! is gone and to see the Holiday fireworks and things I've never seen there. What weekend would be the best to go visit? Crowdwise I mean. Sorry if this was posted somewhere else, I did a search and it came up with a ton of answers.
4. I think I read that there is another way to experience the Finding Nemo? Where is this at?

I know I have more, but Yahoo isn't working for me right now and that's where I have my draft saved of my list of questions, haha! :lmao:

Most of our trips were weekends, we'd drive down Friday night and leave Sunday afternoon. But, we did make the Jan, July, this weekend, tne our Dec bday trips longer. We also tried to go over holiday weekends so DBF and I didn't have to use vacation time to go and we didn't have to pull the girls out of school. :) But yes, it's expensive.

Yeah I will definitely keep that in mind, haha, that is a lot!

Thanks so much everyone! You've all made my trip planning so much easier!

Parking, you should be allowed to park at the hotel before the official check in time. The PPH & GCH lots are pretty big and right next to each other so really, you should be fine.
For your TT ticket, you can sell it on eBay, but really I would suggest you give it to someone on the "list" here on the DIS, you could really make someone's trip if you shared. :) But it's entirely up to you! :)
When we stayed at the PPH we had a theme park view so I really don't know what the other "views" may be. The theme park view rocked tho!! :)
You can book 2 different view rooms but you will have to move rooms so keep that in mind.
No free breakfast at ANY of the DLR hotels, there is a resort fee, it was $12 when we went but it has been increased, I thought it was $14 but I could be wrong.
Costco packages generally come with 1 voucher for a character breakfast, you can use it any of the breakfasts (Storytellers, PPH, Minnie & Friends, Goofy's Kitchen, Ariel's Grotto) but you can only use it once.
You can tell them, but whether they do anything for you is another story.
The gift baskets come from vacation planning and the prices vary greatly based on what you're getting.
There is a DCA entrance from the GCH, any of the DLR hotel guests can use this entrance. Keep in mind that DCA opens later then DL so if you're already in DL you won't be using it to hop.

Ok that sounds good, I was going to call sometime this week but just wanted to see if anyone had gotten the Costco package and knew anything about it! DBF and I are not married either, for a variety of reasons. We just celebrated our 7th year together. :)

Lucky Fortune Cookery is on Pacific Wharf, it's across from Cocina Cucamonga. It's really good!!!!! And very plentiful servings!!
The GCH DCA entrance is supposed to be for guests of the DLR hotels, but we have been able to use it after dining at Storyteller's or WWS.
It's hard to say what would be the BEST weekend.....earlier in Dec would probably be better. We will be there this weekend, then home for 1 weekend and back to DL the following weekend, back home for the next 2 weeks and back to DL for our one last hurrah. :) I'm assuming the slowest weekend will be out 12-13th. We are leaving on the 11th as soon as the girls are out of school.
Finding Nemo has a viewing room, it's for people who cannot access the ride due to being handicapped and not mobile. Anyone can view the ride from this room tho, you just ask the CM at the head of the line and they will direct you where to go. Don't wait in line.....just go to the CM and ask.

I hope I got them all......LOL

Haha Pixie you got everything! :thumbsup2 I totally envy you right now too, because you are enjoying yourself right now! I was thinking the Roundhouse BBQ place would be a great place to dine for Thanksgiving!! :)

I was thinking that the 13th would be good too. I keep saying to DBF how I wish I could see HMH before it goes back to normal, and how I have never been on Christmas, and oh the horror I won't get to see F! when we go... so maybe DBF is getting the hint ;). I don't want to ask him to take me there but if he decided to surprise me I'd happily take the offer. :goodvibes
