Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Lisa, as soon as I saw your post that the committe chair for the Navy Ball had not done his job, I knew you'd be put into service! At least the food and service were good but its always a shame when somebody drops the ball and messes things up.

I love Cracker Barrel but would not be happy to have my order lost. Biscuits would help however!:rotfl:

I can imagine your dd is feeling worried when you go off without her. That was a very traumatic thing for her and all of you, glad she had fun with April. How is April doing after her miscarriage?

Hope your gram is feeling better, did she get her car fixed?

Sounds like your ball committe is lucky to have you there to pick up all the loose ends. I hope you had some fun in spite of it all and that you and your Gram are feeling better soon.

Thanks Amy and Lola
I'm better and back at work. Just needed some quiet alone time to recoup.

Amy - Gram does have her car back and I think she just had a 24hr bug. She was sick for a few hours, but says she is better now.

April is doing fine. While they are sad she realizes how hard it would be with having to take care of her parents right now. She doesn't dwell on it.

Lola - I did enjoy myself. I just get so frustrated when things like that happen that could have been taken care of so easily.

Did dance last night and it was fun as usual. This time we did the 20 minute Ab workout and then across the floor exercises. I have gotten to the level where 20 minutes just is not enough. I could have easily done at least another 10. :thumbsup2 I was very happy about that. My posture has gotten much better also.

Here is a few details for mine and April's January trip.
Reservation at Pop.
April's Park Ticket purchased.
Airfare for both purchased today. :woohoo::woohoo:
We are going January 6-10 and will do the 5K and 1/2.

I have been watching the airfare daily and a few days ago it went down but I couldn't find April's info to make the purchase. Then today it was down again so I jumped on it.:banana::banana:

Lisa, you and April will have so much fun. I am so glad she has this to look forward to. I am also glad to hear she's doing well, it sounds like she has a lot on her plate right now.

That is awesome you have built up to feeling like you can do more dance at the end of the class!:thumbsup2

I love Pop, it was a tough call between that and Music for this week, but I was afraid I wouldn't get a refurbbed room at Pop and dd loves the movies by the pool at Music. But I have to say, I have been a bit sad, I love Pop and we haven't stayed there in two years. Did you request a certain section?

Good job getting that airfare, itsn't amazing the way it fluctuates? Drives me crazy!

Amy, I hadn't even thought to request a certain section at Pop. Thanks for the reminder. :thumbsup2 Gotta add that to my list. I'll have to go over the resort map and figure out a good section. What is your favorite? I didn't pay extra for a preferred, I figured the walking wouldn't bother us, plus I didn't want to chance being on the pool side. We will have to go to bed very early two nights.

Funny thing about the airfare, it had been $109 each way forever. But I knew it would go down, then one day last week it went to $98 each way. Not great, but better and I couldn't find the info April had given me. By the time I got in touch with her it had gone back up. :headache: So I was ready this time and when it hit $98 again, I was ready. I still think it will go a bit lower but didn't want to chance not getting the flight times I wanted.

I walked this evening and got in 55 minutes at the soccer field. When I was done a lady who has been watching me the past few weeks, called me over and asked what I was walking for. I explained the marathon and then she understood. I figure she'll report back to the rest of the group who has been watching me. :rotfl: Got my time down a bit too. Each lap was taking me 4 minutes, and this evening I did a few laps at 3 minutes. Excited about that. I just need to know how far it is and then I can have a better estimate on my per minute miles.

Glad to hear you snagged a good deal on your airfare. I need to start looking at that too. Great job on building both endurance for your dance class and speed for your walking. :thumbsup2 I love the feeling of being able to do something I couldn't do before.

Thanks Lola, yes, each milestone, no matter how small, is a great victory for me.

I walked 50 minutes today and kept my pace going the entire time. Last week I did 20 laps in 48 minutes. Today I did 22 laps. Slowly but surely I will get there.

Well, I did it! I ordered the zumba dvd set. I have been deliberating for about two months on this and finally last night, just went for it. Now I can't wait for it to arrive. :yay:

Lisa great job on the walking and ordering the zumba dvd set!:thumbsup2 That is a very fast pace you walk, I am impressed!

Airfare is so hard to predict. I hate to put it off too long and figure peace of mind with a decent fare is better than to wait too long for it to drop!

So far for Pop we have been in the 80's, the 60's (preferred) and 70's (preferred). I liked all the sections, but for sure the 80's was the quietest. It has a quiet pool and you can cut across the parking lot to get to the bus stop. Also, if you have a car, there is way more parking in the 80's and 90's. Next time I go, I am going to request a room facing the lake. Those seem to get a lot of positive reviews. I think as long as you aren't preferred, you'll be fine and away from the main pool noise.

Crazy Dan, he wants one of those rooms that are on the first floor right at the pool! I always veto that idea.:rotfl:

I'll think of you at All Star Music!

Great job on getting your walk in, Lisa!!!:cheer2:

Woohoo for ordering Zumba! I'm hinting to my DH that I would like Santa to bring me the set on DVD for Christmas. ;) :santa:

Your trip plans for January sound good!:thumbsup2 I'm glad that things are working out for your Thanksgiving trip as well. :goodvibes

Hope you have a nice evening!

Yippie for 22 laps :cheer2: I bet it will be a fun mood booster to be able to do the zumba on your own at home. Enjoy your DVD's.

Hi everyone! What a busy day I had.

Yesterday (Thursday) I walked 30 minutes at work and then 35 minutes at the soccer field. Would have been longer, but I kept getting stopped.

Remember how I told y'all that there are people there who make comments when I walk by, like it bothers them? Well, yesterday this one guy actually said something to me as I walked by. Wanted to know why I walk so much and so fast. Said he should join me but he could out walk me any day. :rolleyes1 I replied "Well, if you think you can keep up, come on." THAT got him all riled up. When I came around he fell into step with me. Wanted to know why I walked so much and so fast. Told him about the marathon and that I had been training for a year and half now. He still thought he could out walk me. First turn around and he was breathing hard, second turn around, he stopped. Yep, realized he couldn't out walk me after all. :lmao: It's the little things that amuse me. ;) I got a really good pace going after that and thankfully, no one else wanted to talk to me.

Today was an off day and I had lots of errands to run. Got almost all of them done. I picked DD up from school and was able to speak to her teacher for a few minutes. She invited DH and I to school the first Friday in November for assembly as she has chosen DD for student of the month. It's a surprise for the students but they let the parents know ahead of time so they can be there if possible. Thankfully I will be off that day. They get a sign to put in the front yard and their picture placed in the hall at school for the month.

Tomorrow is soccer for both kids (DD's is in town, but DS' is an hour away) and a pumpking carving party at a friend's in the evening.
Sunday - who knows yet.

I am still waiting for the zumba set to arrive. I am ready to ZUMBA! :dance3:

How weird that other people would be "bothered" by your walking. I can't see how it would impact anyone else at all. :confused3 I'm glad you are able to just keep doing your thing regardless.

Hope your kids did well in their soccer games and congrats to your daughter for being student of the month. I'm sure she will get a kick out of that!

Thanks Lola :goodvibes

Yeah, I find it odd also, but :confused3 who knows these days.

Saturday we did soccer and DD had a really good game. DS, not so much, but he still had fun. We had a great time at the pumpkin carving party. I won an award for most original. I saw a new way of carving where you don't carve all the way through, but more like scrape designs into the outside of the pumpkin. Then when put a candle in it, the pumpkin glows. I was surprised that it actually worked. I normally don't carve anything, I leave that to DH and the kids, it was fun though.

Sunday, I worked on laundry and cleaning, real fun. :upsidedow

Monday, was a real day. Started out as usual Monday and then DH called right before 10:00am. He was kind of acting odd, so my first thought was someone died and he didn't know how to say it. Then he asked me to take him to the ER. He had the first symptoms of a heart attack. I am very relieved and happy to say that after a few hours and several tests, the doctor said that he hadn't had a heart attack or stroke and it was something called silent reflux. :confused3 They did tell me to get out and walk or something on a regular basis to help relieve stress. I am hoping he will take their advice.
DD and I had dance. All of the moms got to go into the girls class to see what they have learned and then have a small party. It was fun. At my class we worked out and then pigged out. I didn't really. I had eaten my usual before class so I just had a little taco salad and my water. :thumbsup2

Today, was a little better but crazy also. I am hoping tomorrow will keep improving.

OMG, Lisa!! Thank God that your DH is okay! I bet both of you were so scared! How is he feeling today? I've never heard of silent reflux before. What causes it?

Congrats on the pumpkin carving win! :thumbsup2

Your dance class sounds like a lot of fun! I wish we had something like that around here.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

So glad to hear that your DH is OK. On the bright side it would be a great thing if it motivated him to be more active/healthy.

The pumpkin carving sounds like fun. Congrats on your win. My DH is artistic and can do some neat things with the pumpking carving. I'm all thumbs so I usually stick to basic patterns.

Have a great day.

Hello ladies.
Yes, DH is okay. We are very thankful for that. All Monday evening I kept saying "are you okay" "yes" are you lying to me?" no. Got a little tired of me asking I think.

Today DS is sick. Seemed fine last night (of course now he tells me he didn't :sad2:) But woke up this morning with a sore throat and stomach ache. DH let him go to school for uniform inspection (rotc) and then picked him up. He is feeling a bit better and ran fever but it is down now, just has a bad headache. He will have to stay home tomorrow regardless (I am a stickler for the 24 hours fever free) and DH and I both have incredibly busy days tomorrow. I have to be there in the AM so I asked DH to please go in a bit late and I will come home as soon as my event is over. DS should be okay for a few hours, especially since my event is outside and I can have my phone with me. If I have to I will leave early, but I am one of the main coordinators.

Got my Zumba DVDs today.:banana::banana: Got DD to do about 30 minutes of the instructional one with me.

DS' Biology update: He brought me five papers that he got back and all five had 100 on them. He said "mom, you were right. Just reading the chapters really help." :thumbsup2

Hope DS is feeling better soon. Glad to hear he is doing better in Bio :thumbsup2 I was LOL at his comment about reading the chapters. Heck, at least he took your advice. What more can you ask from a teenager.

Woohoo for Zumba!!!

Hope your DS is feeling better soon!:wizard: Great news that he is doing better in Biology!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Lisa, I hope your son is feeling better and I am so thankful your dh was not having a heart attack. What a scary thing that must have been for both of you.

You know my mom had a similar thing happen when she began a walking routine about 13 years ago. She walked at a mall, and quite a few people seemed to be very critical of how fast she walked and how diligent she was. I chalked it up to jealousy with her and I dare say that is what is happening with you. It seems to be human nature to some people to resent and be negative when someone else is doing something positive. Ignore them and keep up your pace! I had to laugh out loud about that crazy guy saying he could outwalk you! Guess not.:rotfl:

Saying prayers that your husband finds some time to walk and destress.
