Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Thank you both for being here with me through all of this. It really means a lot.

The past few days have really been busy. I am :faint:

I am in charge of the physical access system into my building. There has been an error message since the power outage last weekend, but I haven't been able to figure out what it meant.....until today. Finally figured it out, figured out what I think is exactly wrong and couldn't fix it. Had the head of security over, he couldn't fix it, but he does agree with my diagnosis. :thumbsup2 If I had the operating manual I might could figure it out, but no one knows where it is. :confused3 So, a guy should be in tomorrow who hopefully will be able to fix it. I hope so, I spent way too much time on that thing today.

Good news is, the weekend is coming early this week, at least for me. Off tomorrow and we are finally taking the kids to a beach weekend that we have been promising them for the past two years. DH is playing in a bowling tournament in Destin, FL. When DD heard FL she asked how many days would we get to go to Disney. Poor thing I realized that the only thing she has ever done in FL is go to Disney. She has been to the beach, just never one like this. Should be fun and we don't come home until Monday. Nice, long weekend. I am looking for relaxing. :beach:

The condo has an exercise room, indoor/outdoor pool and on the beach. I am hoping to utilize the exercise room a bit and walk on the beach. DS needs to gear up for soccer tryouts so I am going to start pushing him to walk with me.

Best plans never seem to work out...... oh well, such is life.

I tried logging on this weekend. Free internet and all, but for some reason I couldn't stay logged on to the DIS:confused3

This weekend was okay. No walks, no workouts, nothing I had planned. We shopped on the way to Florida as Mississippi was having the No Tax on clothes Fri & Sat. Got DH a bunch of work clothes, DS the rest of his school clothes (and a few other things he slid in) and DD her dance shoes. DH "forgot" to stop at Target to buy DD's school clothes so I just decided to get them in FL. Guess what? The kids don't wear uniforms in Destin. Spent some time on the beach, some time at the pool, a lot of time at bowling alley. As usual I ended up with a sinus headache. No migrane thankfully so I was still able to go along with everything. The condo was very nice and I loved that it had a washer/dryer. We brought home way more clean clothes than dirty so that was a definite plus. Very nice area and I just don't know why we don't go more often. It is only 5hrs away. The kids have a long weekend in October and prices are down then, so we are thinking of going back.

I'm glad that you had a good weekend, Lisa. I hope you're able to go back to the beach in October!:wizard:

That's cool that you had a no tax weekend!:thumbsup2 I wish Ohio would do that too.

How's your week going so far?

Have a nice evening!

Lisa I am so glad you had fun at the beach! I really envy you being that close to the Florida beaches (or any beach lol). I love the ocean and who knows when we'll get a beach vacation. Did you see any affects from the oil spill in that area?

I hope you got the error message thing at work fixed at long last!

Hope your week is going well. :goodvibes

Hello Ladies. I hope everyone has had a great couple of days. Today was the first day of school for the kids. :woohoo::woohoo: They think I'm nuts at times.

DD was nervous, but came home and said she had a great day. :goodvibes

DS was excited to go back and then he got there and found out his schedule had been completely re-arrange. He wasn't so happy. Same subjects but one of his teachers was changed to one his doesn't care for and to top it off his is the only 10th grader in a room full of 9th graders. :confused3 He said overall though it was a good day. He is in drivers ed, so he is on :cloud9: right now.

We didn't see any oil problems in Destin. I asked when we checked in and they said while the area wasn't having a problem, someone would see an occasional small spot. We didnt' see any while we were there.

My access system still isn't fixed, but I had the correct diagnosis to the problem. The link between my cpu and the actual access panels was severed. A part has been ordered and hopefully it will soon be fixed. And wouldn't you know, I used to get about one new person a week and now I am getting 2-3 a day. Not sure what is going on with that, but that's how it goes.

Now here is some interesting news. I have decided to join a dance class. I had decided to do it several weeks ago and then the accident happened and I thought I would have to give it up. Well, the new dance school has a small adult class that is really a Mommy and Me class for mothers of dance students. At the recital the mothers and daughters do a dance together. DD has been wavering on whether she wants to go or not, so I told her about this class we could do together. She was so excited. So I told the instructor I would try. Not promising anything as I have never had a dance lesson in my life, but I'll try. Also, my friend April will be in the class so it should be a hoot. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Mondays will still be dance days around here. DD's class at 4:00 and mine at 7:00. Thankfully we live real close to town and it's a small town. and a real plus is this instructor is real big on strecthing properly so I figure that I'll use some muscles I don't normally use and it will help with my walking. :thumbsup2

Not much to report today. I did watch my portions and took a very short walk with DD tonight. I have decided this year I will get her in shape for WDW. Yes, she is still small enough that I will get her a stroller if we end up with a really long day, but I'd like for her to walk most of it if possible. We spent an hour at the playground first while DS was at rec soccer practice. DD doesn't start soccer for another three weeks. Everything is starting back again so quickly.

DD had another good day at school and DS is over the moon about ROTC and drivers ed.

Happy Friday to everyone tomorrow. :goodvibes

I am so glad that today is Friday. I'm tired. :faint: Thankfully work was quiet today, I needed that. After DD got home we went shopping to finish up what we need for dance and school. First we went to a local dance/girls shop for a new dance outfit. When the owner saw my Disney Visa she asked me about it. Turns out she is a DVC owner and has been for a while. We talked for quite a while. Then DD and I went to Academy and Target. We got everything we needed except for khaki shorts. I'll have to order them. We finished off with dinner at IHOP, DD's favorite restaruant.

For lunch I went to a Chinese buffet, and felt like I ate way too much, when I know I didn't. For dinner I had 1/2 an omelet. Trying to drink more water also. For exercise I walked across the street once and around the building a couple of times.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. :flower3:

Lisa, I am so glad you are doing a dance class! This will be so good for you, and its good exercise to boot. Mrs. Jeanne is smiling down from heaven.:goodvibes

I am with your dd, IHOP is good eatin!

Great job watching portions and drinking the water.

And so glad you didn't see any oil spillage.

Way to go signing up for the dance class, Lisa!:cheer2: I bet you will have a wonderful time! :goodvibes

IHOP is yummy! They have the best omelets there!:thumbsup2

I know you've had a busy week. I hope you have a relaxing weekend ahead!

thanks Ladies. Today was a good day. First I slept for almost 9 hours! :woohoo: It felt so good. Of course I woke up late as I went shopping with my friend. She is presenting at a conference in a couple weeks and need a couple of new suits as she has lost a lot of weight. We spend two hours in the Ann Taylor outlet and let me tell you. It made have said outlet, but those prices were reguler mall prices. :scared1: I don't shop at that particular store, but oh my..... and when one suit turned into three, plus shirts to go along and then a couple more just because.....I was like :scared1::eek::faint: when I saw the total. She makes very good $$, but still. Then we stopped at the Disney store and I bought a pj set on clearance for myself for $10. I was happy as I had my fix. We had lunch, stopped at Sams and headed home.

DH had the kids cleaning their rooms so I tackled all of the vacation bags. Everything is now put away and laundry is well under way being done.

I have done very well with food today, even eating out. and I am counting all of the walking back and forth across the house today as my exercise. I worked for almost three hours straight, sorting, folding and putting clothes away. I was constantly moving and never sat down. Tomorrow will be more of the same as I hope to make a real dent in this mess we have.

Did anyone see Oprah the past two days? The shows on hording? I am no wheres near that level, but I do have a bit of a problem. Comes from being so poor as a kid. If I got something as a kid, I never got rid of it as I never knew when I would get something to replace it. I have been working hard the past few years on cleaning out and getting rid of stuff that I have had forever (moving into the new house really helped start me off), but I still have a lot of stuff. But after seeing that show, I never want to get into the state.

Woohoo for sleeping 9 hours!!!:woohoo: I bet you felt great waking up!:thumbsup2

It sounds like you're doing great with your food and getting lots of movement in! Keep up the good work, Lisa!:cheer2:

I hope you have a great day today!

Thanks Tracy. I did feel good and then when I stretched I promptly pulled a muscle in my calf. The one that bothers me occasionally. It's getting better now though.

Saturday ended good and then on to Sunday.
The morning began well enough and then Gram called. My youngest DB has moved back in with her (again) with his kids saying he lost his job (again) and can't pay for their apartment. :sad2: He has gone through all of her savings, but I guess he just wants to make sure. She can not afford 4 more people in her house. Oh well, she won't tell him no.

We cleaned more Sunday and things are looking rather well around here.

Monday was a day of new beginnings. I have finally begun my new walking program at work. Walked for 45 minutes. Then DD had her new dance class and DS began swim team practice. DD did real well and loved it. Everything is different, even the music. I think that may have helped. For me, it was weird sitting in a new waiting room with new people. Then I had my dance/exercise class. I think I am going to really like it. I am a total klutz and having mild dylexsia doesn't help. But if I watch careful and "get it in my head, then I can get it in my feet" as Mrs. Jeanne used to say. I survived but feel it today. We did lots of stretching and stuff, some I am familar with, some not gonna happen. At least not any time soon. :lmao: Splits, me? :rotfl:

Today I took off. I would get up and walk down the hall or down the stairs about every 30 minutes or so, just to keep loose. I think that helped a lot. Tomorrow I am going to start stretching at home with DD. I want to be able to catch up with everyone else.

Who has done Zumba? I know someone here has just can't remember who. The instructor has ordered that tape and we are going to try it. If we succeed fairly well, then she is wanting to start a separate class just for that.

Today I bought my friend A's ticket for our trip in January. One more thing taken care of. :thumbsup2 She insist that she is still going with me.

Lisa, all sorts of new beginnings going on out your way! I am so glad you liked the dance class. All things considered, its probably very good its all different. I am proud of you and your dd for getting back into dance. That takes some courage on both your parts.:thumbsup2

Great job with walking! Ann Taylor is very expensive. I went there once with a friend and was just aghast. Must be nice is all I can say. I am a JC Penney kind of girl!:rotfl:

I am a JC Penney kind of girl!:rotfl:

You and me both.:thumbsup2 I love JCP and that is where 95% of my and DH's clothes come from. the other 5% is Target. and the sales are AWESOME! :cool1:

Yesterday was one of those (read: :crazy2::faint::furious:) kind of days at work. Got home and things weren't going much better. Then Gram left, DD got in the shower and I took Roo for a walk. Then things got better. Roo was so happy. We didn't go far as there was lightening off in the distance, but it felt good to get out. Today began to be like yesterday, but about 9:15am I told everyone that I need some quiet to get payroll done and that scattered them quick. They like to be paid. I'm just glad this my short week. Off tomorrow and DH is going to his Dad's for the weekend for his 25th HS reunion.

TD5 fizzled out, and all we have gotten so far is some light rain. But there is always the next one out there. We stay prepared. :thumbsup2

Not sure what this evening will hold. DS is suppose to have soccer practice and there is a Swim Team parent meeting at the same time. DH will take the meeting and I'll take practice (which may be cancelled).
I have been practicing a couple of things I learned at dance and actually improving a bit, I think. I have to really think things through, but once I get it, then I'm good.

Now for a :scared1: I pulled out my ADR spreadsheet last night and :scared1: I forgot to get an ADR for one night. :scared1: I remember that I was so sick the morning I called and could barely talk and I completely skipped over one. I have a couple of possiblities to check on and it is for Sunday night, so hopefully I will find something. If not, we'll go to DTD and do a CS. I'm kind of thinking the ESPN restaurant at the Boardwalk. I've read good reviews and there weren't any really bad reviews, so I'm thinking Sunday night with lots of TVs and Sunday Night Football might make DH and DS happy.

What do you all think? Has anyone ever been there?

I didn't get to walk today. I had problems with the payroll system being really slow, so that took much longer than it should have. Didn't get to walk tonight due to all of the lighting. Roo met me at the door when I got home this evening, so excited, but I had to tell her no. I did have a light dinner this evening and a salad for lunch with no snack in between.

Here is a bit of interesting news. I went to the mandatory Swim Team Parent Meeting tonight and ended up being elected Treasurer. :confused3 It is only for about 3-4 months and there are only two fundraisers so it shouldn't be too hard. Not sure what prompted me to accept the nomination but....here I am.....Ms. Treasurer for another group. DH was like :scared1: how did that happen?!!!!!!

DH leaves for his trip early in the AM and will not be home until very late Monday night. He'll have a good trip and the kids and I will have a quiet weekend. I hope.

Count me in...I love JCP too! As a matter of fact, I worked there during college. :goodvibes I love their merchandise and they have great sales, especially their clearance sales!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

ESPN Club on a Sunday night is a lot of fun if you like football!::yes:: The atmosphere is energized and the food is pretty good too.

I hope you have a nice weekend ahead!

Thanks Tracy for the input on ESPN club. I'm not so much for noisy and all, but I can handle it for a couple hours for football. DH and DS will be happy. :thumbsup2 Do you remember if they take ADRs? I tried on line but it wasn't there.

Today was my off day. Took the kids to school, came home for breakfast and discovered ants in the trash can by the street. So I had to clean that up first. I had read that ants will not cross a line of chalk. So, I cleaned up the ants and drew a square around the trash can on the drive way. Guess what? It worked! the ants would not cross the line. :cool1:

Had a hair appt this morning and on my way stopped at the WalMart there. They are getting rid of material again and had it all discounted. I pick up a couple pieces each time I am there, but this time I got a bunch. Lots of Disney and material to make DD curtains to match her new bedding I bought her about 6 months ago. :rolleyes1 Yeah, taken me this long to decide what to do. :sad2:

Tonight DS is working at the skating rink and DD has a friend over. So far they have flooded one bathroom and split milk in the family room. They are in the bath and I keep checking on them. So far so good. (fingers crossed)

DH is off on his trip so I am really hoping for a quiet weekend. (toes crossed too)

Lisa, I didn't know that about ants and chalk! I'll have to try that around the dogs food bin in my garage.

We like ESPN Zone. It is noisy on Sunday nights but your guys will be in heaven. I can't remember if they take ADR's or not. We just have gone over there a few times after Epcot so Dan can watch basketball. We've always gotten a table. I love their chicken ceaser salad.

Yep, JCP has the BEST sales! I get their coupons in the mail and that makes it even better. Give me a sale at JCP and a coupon in my hot little hand and I am one happy gal!

I hope you have a great weekend.

I don't know whether to congratulate you or feel sorry for you with this treasurer thing! :rotfl:

Hi Lisa,

I don't think the ESPN Club takes reservations. I think it's first come, first served. It does get loud in there, but it is a lot of fun if you're a football fan!:cheer2:

I've heard the chalk thing about the ants before, but I've never tried it. I'm glad to hear that it works!:goodvibes

Hope your weekend is a quiet one! :thumbsup2
