Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

I'm glad that you're feeling better, Lisa!

That is great news about your friend and WDW!!!:cheer2:

Hope you have a great day today!

That will be great to have a friend joining you at WDW next year (and that year will go FAST).

Hello everyone
Amy & Amy, a king cake is a special type of dough cake (kind of like a cinammon roll, only way better) that is eaten during the Mardi Gras season. The cake contains a small trinket or in most cases a "baby". Whomever gets the baby is responsible for purchasing the next king cake. Most king cakes have a simple cinammon center, with a ton of colored sugar on top. My local bakery began making filled cakes several years ago. The longer the Mardi Gras season, the more cakes are brought into work. But our local bakery is the only one that I know of that makes them year round. I even ordered one for oldest DS' 9th birthday and they made it into the shape of the number 9.

I am feeling way better thank you. Some days are just  Today it is raining and supposed to be 100% this evening, so I won't be walking. Perhaps tonight I will dig DS' weight bench out from under all of the junk that has been piled on it and begin using it again. DS and DH nearly died laughing when they discovered that I had been using the weight bench. and I told them their reaction is the exact reason why I didn't do it while they were home. Using the light weights and building upper body strength helped me complete the marathon.

Taking DS to the dentist after school and we will run some errands and take oldest DS his mail afterwards. DD gets to go home with a friend after school, so she is very happy and told me not to hurry. They need time to play.

Barb, you are right about the year going fast. I looked at the calendar this morning and was like, only 11 months :scared1:

Tracy, thanks, today is working out to be a rather good day. :goodvibes

I hope everyone has a great day today. Thanks for stopping by.

Good for you getting that weight bench out! It's important to do strength training in addition to all the walking you do. :thumbsup2

Mmm, that king cake sounds delicious, I'm glad they are not popular here! I have enough things to avoid, and I bet that would be added to that list...

Great job getting that weight bench out!:thumbsup2

I'm glad that you're feeling better today.

Have a great day!:goodvibes

Lisa, I hope you found the weight bench! Don't let dh and ds give you a hard time, you just did a 1/2 marathon so you can kick some serious butt!

That King cake sounds very good. I think its a good thing I don't live anywhere near New Orleans, I'd be in trouble with all those cakes around!

I hope your weather clears up and that you can get a walk in soon!

King cake...mmmm! Sounds yummy! My DH headed out to Universal to indulge in their Mardi Gras/New Orleans food tonight (they have special food booths during their celebration) but I brought home one of the lower-calorie varieties of Quiznos subs as my dinner so I am behaving. I know how tempting it must be to have the goodies around...almost as bad as Christmastime!

oh my goodness!!!!!!! 30-17 with 3 minutes left an New Orleans is in the lead. !!!!!!!!!!! I'll post again when it is over. Colby, Elizabeth and I have been banished to the office. They started winning when we came in here. Now we are not allowed out.

They won!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness!!!! The New Orleans Saints won their very first Super Bowl!!!!!:banana::banana:

Lisa, I am so happy for all you Saints fans!:cool1:

I remember when the Broncos won their first super bowl back in 1998, enjoy that victory!

Congrats to you and the Saints fans, Lisa!!!:cheer2: That was one heck of a game last night! ::yes:: I thought it was so sweet at the end where Drew Brees was holding his son with tears in his eyes. Wonderful moment!:goodvibes

Hope you have a great week ahead!

:wave2:Hello everyone

We were finally allowed to watch the end of the game with just a minute left. Lots of excitement around. We didn't get to bed until almost 12:00am and I had to be up at 4:30ish:faint: Today everyone is very quiet and staying in their offices for the most part. Lots of celebrating went on last night.

Friday was an incredibly long day at work for some reason. Good thing is was my short day. We had Chloee spend the night(she's 4) and she spent most of Saturday with us. Friday night we took the girls to eat Italian (what kids doesn't like pasta, right?) and neither of them liked what they ordered and both ended up eating my food. Note to self: always ask what kind of cheese is used on grilled cheese and mac and cheese. White cheese is :crazy2: according to the girls.
would you believe they both fell asleep before 9:30? Surprised me. I figured I would have to seperate them since they are always so excited to be together.

Saturday we just spend around the house. It was a cold and dreary day, so I kept the girls in. Chloee ended up staying until almost 6pm and I was wiped after she left. Love her to death but she is non stop all day long.

Sunday I slept in and then went to WalMart. Now I really don't like WalMart and if we had a Target in our town, I would probably do all of my shopping there. Yes, Target can be more expensive on some things, but I just really don't like Walmart. The store is very noisy and the new layout is just plain confusing. Plus they have stopped carrying a lot of items that I use. That said, I had my list and coupons and off I went. Got my buggy full and headed to the register. After I finished loading the converyor I stood by the register and watched the items ring up. There were a couple I was interested as what would ring up since there were two different prices on the shelves. (yet another frustration with them) That is when I noticed that the items were not showing up on the screen as the cashier scanned them. I mentioned it to her and she said it was the third register that she had been on that morning that was doing that, but don't worry, it will catch up. After she was done and before she could ring up my coupons we had to wait for the register. One by one the people behind me left and finally we closed off her lane. Still we waited. Someone would walk by every once in a while to see what was going on. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting, a different CSM moved us to another register and we had to ring the order all over again. Took all of 5 minutes to do it again, but the fact that it took me right at an hour total to check out was once my turn started was ridiculous. :headache: I just really don't like WalMart.:sad2:

I have not stepped foot in a Walmart for over 8 years! And even then it was only because I was visiting my grandparents in Oregon and it was the ONLY store in town! I had to get them a new towel rack because DS broke theirs by using it as a chin up bar or something. But I digress... I think that it totally unacceptable to wait that long to check out!

Glad you were able to celebrate the Saints victory! :goodvibes I think it's cool that they finally made it to the Superbowl and won at that! :)

Lisa, I have found not all Wal Marts are created equal. I love the two new ones they built in our area, but the older one I used to go to, forget it! I went to Wal Mart today and was in and out of there in a half hour. A record, they are always so crowded but never have enough people working there!

My kids hate white cheese so it must taste funny!

Hope you had a great day today.:)

Yesterday was very quiet around the office. Lots of people went home at lunch. DS finally started rec soccer last night. They called yesterday afternoon after I left to take DD to dance to say their first meeting was at 5:30pm. :scared1: This rec is so unorganized. But DS loves soccer. He will practice two nights a week and games (which thankfully are only on Saturdays) will probably start in about three weeks.

Today I am hoping for another quiet day. I was up late again last night (insomnia), so after a couple shorts night, I'm kind of draggin. But it'll be okay. DH and DS are going into the city this evening to watch the Saints parade so DD and I get a girls evening. I'm thinking, dinner, homework, baths and then early to bed and watch a movie. :thumbsup2 Think it'll happen? :rotfl: But I just realized that if DH isn't home, then no walking for me tonight. It is suppose to get below freezing early, so DD wouldn't be able to play at the park while I walk. Maybe we can get the WII out.

I hope everyone has a great day. :goodvibes

Sounds like you have a good Plan B brewing... :thumbsup2

Do you know what is causing your insomnia? That must be frustrating. :headache:

Lisa, I go through these bouts of insomina so I feel your pain! I hope you get some sleep tonight. Your girls night sounds very nice. I have to say, when dh and ds are gone, dd and I really enjoy being on our own!

Below freezing, that is cold for you! Stay warm, hopefully you'll warm up soon.

Glad ds got into a soccer league, I know what you'll be doing on Saturday's!

I hope you're able to get some sleep soon, Lisa! :wizard: I get bouts of insomnia too and it's not fun. :(

That's cool that your DH and DS are going to the Saints parade!:cool1: I bet there will be a lot of people there! ::yes::

Hope you have a nice evening!

Thanks Ladies. Last night did not go as planned. Anyone surprised? :sad2: It wasn't bad though. My sinuses were hurting when I got home so I laid down as soon as DD got home asked to go to the neighbor's. Told her to be home in one hour and promptly fell asleep. She came home and climbed in bed with me and she fell asleep. I woke up at 6:45pm and tried to get her up. Wasn't happening. I tried a few times and decided that since she had just played outside for 1.5 hours and she hadn't been sleeping well either, that sleep was more important than homework at the moment. I knew her teacher would agree with me. I did a couple things and then went back to bed and was asleep before 9:30. I slept all night, but with a headache (or sinusache as I call it) it wasn't good sleep. I got up for work and DD woke up at 5:30am. Wide awake and ready to go. She was finishing up her homework when I left. I made it to work and my sinusache is almost gone. I really hate feeling this way.
So needless to say, nothing much got done last night and I didn't even pull out the WII. I needed the sleep though.

Amy - I really don't know where the insomnia came from this time.:confused3 sometimes I can tie it to something I have eaten in the evening or a particular problem that is bothering me. I have been careful what I eat in the evenings and while I am working hard at our finances....perhaps that is it. Sunday night DH and DS convinced me to orders SuperBowl shirts for everyone, including the family in New York. There went my spending $$ for the next two weeks. ::yes:: Yep, bet that's it. Really bothered me at the time. Thanks for helping me figure it out.

Amy - I love winter, (just cause I hate being hot in the summer) but I'm tired of it. All I could think every time the heater came on last night "There goes the electric bill." and I had it turned down 2 degrees.

Tracy - DS was very excited that we let him get out of school early to go to the parade. He only missed ROTC, so it wasn't a problem with school, but normally I would say no. I figured this was a once in a lifetime opporturnity. First Super Bowl and first Super Bowl win. Something special and he got to see local history in the making. Some things you just can't get at school.
