Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

I'm glad you were able to get caught up on some sleep! DD too! :goodvibes

I hope you are over the insomnia now. :wizard: There is nothing worse than trying to fall asleep when your mind is racing! Been there, done that! :confused3

 Lisa,

I hope you're feeling better today. I'm glad that you and your DD were able to take naps yesterday. It sounds like you both needed some extra sleep.

That is so cool that your DH and your DS got to experience the Saints parade!!! What a wonderful memory for both of them!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a good day ahead!

Lisa, I am so glad you and your dd got some sleep. When I lack sleep for very long, I tend to get sick, and its hard on the metabolism as well. I recently had to email dd's teachers and tell them some of her homework would be late because she needed to get to bed earlier and they all said that was more important.

Hope your weather warms up, I hear you on that electric bill! For us its natural gas that heats our house and electricty that cools it. All year long, I am paying too much to one or the other!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me......... Yes, today is my birthday and what a day it is so far. All week a wintery mix has been predicted for today. One forecaster even said we would get 2-4 inches of snow.:rotfl2: Not sure what models he was reading. :lmao: So as the week went on and the predictions didn't change, guess what happened. Schools were closed for today. Today. My birthday. My all alone planned out day. :confused3 Will I ever learn not to make plans? :confused3 Doubt it. So then I started thinking. I love snow. As a kid I always prayed for snow at Christmas. Never happened, but I still prayed every year. So, I thought, if it has to snow, what better day then today, my birthday. What a great present! A couple hours ago I looked out and saw this.

It was really coming down too. These huge flakes! Too bad it wasn't cold enough to stick or we may have actually had those 2 inches predicted. Now, I know you all are thinking I'm nuts at the moment, but this is completely out of the ordinary for us. I love snow. I just don't want to live in it. Here is what Roo thinks of it.

Poor thing is all up in her pallet. She is being very quiet today. She doesn't want to have to go out. She did go out once with DD this morning.

I am much better today. As soon as I left work yesterday I felt better. We are having problems with a couple of the HVAC units in the building and when they cut off yet still blow stale air, I really have problems with my sinuses. One of the building engineers called me last night and I was able to tell him which ones were acting up, so they were going to look at them today. Seems the technicians just kept reseting them without telling anyone there was a problem. :sad2: Hopefully they will be fixed soon. I have enough problems with my sinuses, I don't need any help on messing them up.

Last night we went out to dinner for the start of my birthday weekend. We thought with everyone thinking the weather as bad (it was sleeting) that restuarants would be quiet. Wrong. Guess everyone thought the same way we did. We had a nice dinner though. Tonight DD is spending the night at a friends, but I am keeping the kids first as our friends are going to a concert and April (who is keeping all of them) won't be over until 6:45. So DH and I are going to a late dinner and probably a movie. Not sure what DS has planned for tonight. Today he is working at the fire department since he had the day off from school.

DD and I have just been hanging around watching it snow. Well, I have been on the computer and DD has been watching tv and playing. She has gone out a couple of times to stand in the snow. She even collected enough off of the chair cushions to make one snow ball to throw. We will be going out soon as I do have a couple of errands I have to run, but they won't take long.

I hope everyone has a great day and Amy and Tracy, y'all stay warm up North. We are :cold: with you today.

Wow, snow! :cold: Haven't seen that in a while!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :bday: Hope you have a fantastic b-day weekend. :goodvibes

Thanks Amy and Tracy. I had one of the best birthdays ever. :goodvibes It snowed until 1:00pm and then DD and I went to pay a couple bills. Just had to go through the drive throughs so we didn't even have to get out of the car. DD stayed in her PJs.

Sophia and Joey came over at 4:30 for their parents to leave. and I have to tell you, that Joey is something else. He is 4 and very spoiled (his mom admits to it). I had made the kids some chocolate chip cookies and let them have two each. They all kept asking for more, but I made them go play. Yeah, I'm mean like that. All the sudden I hear both girls yelling and I walk in the kitchen and there is Joey holding a cookie half eaten. I asked him what he thought he was doing and he said "I tried to be quiet, but it was just so good and Sophia distracted me from being quiet" I think that translates into, Sophia was trying to sneak a cookie and he beat her to it, so she tattled. Made him hand over the cookie and sit in timeout. Yep, meanest babysitter ever, but he loves to come to my house. :confused3

April finally showed up and DH and I went out to dinner and a movie. We tried to go to Copeland's (wonderful southern seafood dishes), but we ran into a Mardi Gras parade. :headache: forgot about it. So, we went to the other side of town to Olive Garden. I had salad and Spinach Arhtichoke dip  for my entree. We went to see Valentine's Day. It was really good. DH acted like he was suffering through it, but he enjoyed it also. The movie has some real funny parts in it. DS stayed home and watched the Olympics.

Satuday, I got to sleep in:woohoo: I could really get used to that. But then I feel like I have wasted the morning. :confused3 Got DD from Sophia's house. She didn't want to come home and then got ready to head to the Coast. I belong to a small group from here on the Disboards and we get together about every three months to talk Disney. Here about each others trips, that kind of thing. It was a fun evening. One of the ladies brought me a cake (she is a professional cake decorator) and it was a simply, wonderful Disney cake. But anyone else just looking at it wouldn't have thought Disney. She is suppose to email me a pic of it. I'll post it when she does. It was all white and sparkly with a crown and septer drawn on top of it and the words "Wishes" and "Dreams" written on the side.

I also stopped at the Disney store. I ended up pre-ordering the Princess and the Frog movie. I normally wait to see if there is a coupon and then get it the first week at Walmart when they are on sale. But the Disney store had a pretty good deal. It's 24.99 and you get the DVD, BlueRay and Digital Copy(not sure what that is). You also get 4 lithographs and then a coupon. The coupon is for $10 off anything or $20 off of $40. I can spend $40 in that store easy, so that is a real deal for me. Plus there is normally some type of rebate after it comes out, so I should get all of my $$ back on this one. :thumbsup2

Today slept in again, yep, could really get used to this. Well, I woke up at 6:00am when DH's scanner went off. He and DS went to an accident and I thought about getting up, but I was real comfortable and fell back asleep. DD and I got up at 9:30 and I made her breakfast and then we went to WalMart to get new fish tank stuff. I think we have freaked the fish out. We had to get all new stuff as the other stuff was all gross and I couldn't get it clean. Now the fish is just kind of sitting there. He swims every once in a while. But I'm kind of concerned. Think he misses the old plant? I cleaned the studio today and Gram and my DNeice came for dinner. and now I am here and we are watching the Olympics.

I hope eveyone had a nice weekend.

It sounds like you had a great weekend, Lisa! :thumbsup2 I'm glad to hear that you had a wonderful birthday!

Sounds like you got a great deal on the Princess and the Frog!!!:thumbsup2

I hope you have a great Monday!

Poor fish! I'm sure he is just getting used to his new surroundings! ;)

I think the digital copy is something you can download onto your Playstation or DVD player or something like that. I saw that option pop up on one of our BluRay discs. Let me know what it is when you find out!

Happy Birthday Lisa!!!! I am glad that when your planned alone day got derailed, you kept yourself happy and enjoyed the day. Yeah, I like snow and dont' want to live with it either. No idea how I ended up living in Colorado the last 39 years!

So glad you got some rest and had a nice weekend, you deserved that!

Tell Roo she was behaving properly for a snowstorm, she looked just like my dogs do all winter long!

Thanks Ladies. :goodvibes Sorry I was so loooong winded yesterday. Today was the last day of my four day weekend. Our big thing was to go to Home Depot today. Got DH a tiller, shelves for DD's room and paint for DD's playset. She has been begging to paint it.:confused3 So we let her pick out the colors (with a little help) and then had to explain the whole paint mixing process. The Home Depot guy (Charles) was really good about helping explain what he was doing. And then he made a big show of getting her approval on the colors when they were done. :thumbsup2 What a nice guy!:goodvibes

We were suppose to of had snow again early this morning at about 4:00am. I wasn't getting up to check. Nothing on the ground when we did get up, so......:confused3.

DD is spending the night at April's since she is off of school and we have to work. Ohhh, work. Well, four day week and I have a couple lunches promised. :cloud9:

And tomorrow I really hope to get back to walking. I miss it.

I am jealous of everyone's 4 day weekends!!!!

Good thing you didn't wake up to check for snow, that would have been disappointing! ;)

No snow. Hopefully that is the last we hear about snow in our region. All of the parents I have spoken to are in agreement that the schools need to wait until it actually snows before they cancel school again. I am in complete agreement with not having the buses on the roads if there is ice, but they used to make that decision in the early morning hours when it actually happened, not the day before just for being forecast. :confused3

Yesterday was very quiet at work.:cool1: and then I had to get DD from April's. I had to make a couple stops on the way home and it was too late for me to go to the track. I was going to get the WII out after DD went to bed but then DH and DS came home early from the fire station. So no exercise for me last night. I am starting to feel it now and don't like it. I did walk at work yesterday, but it just isn't the same. I'll get back to it soon, I just miss it.

I did do a lot of work on the computer last night, so I do feel good about that.

Tracy, I found out that GCs do not count towards cash backs. Thanks for the suggestion of checking out the forum. :thumbsup2 Found my answer easy.

You're welcome, Lisa. :goodvibes I'm sorry that Disney doesn't offer cashback on the gift cards. :( I remember when they did a couple of years ago. It was nice to earn cashback on something we were going to use anyways. :thumbsup2

I hope you have a great day!

Enjoy the slowness at work! I know for me that always means the calm before the storm!

You are really in the zone if you miss working out! :thumbsup2 I hope you are able to get back into your routine soon. :wizard:

No snow is a good thing! I think in places where snow is not the norm, they tend to freak out at the mere hint of the white stuff!

I agree, enjoy your slow time at work because it probably won't last!

You'll get to the track soon, some days its just hard to get it all in.:goodvibes

Since I haven't been able to work out/walk, when the kids got home yesterday I informed them that at 5:00 Mom gets the TV. After some mild protesting they went off to do homework and I got out the WII. I was doing great until Gram showed up even early than normal for dinner. Every week she comes a little earlier.:confused3

Since I hadn't been on it for a few weeks (:sad2:) I decided to do the whole eval thing over. When we first got it, the program said my WII age was 56:scared1: last night it said it was 39:woohoo:. Not sure how it determines that, but I'll take it. (I'm 44 in real age). I also had maintained my weight.:goodvibes I didn't get the full workout I wanted, but what I did felt good.

Today is up in the air as I am suppose to take Gram to the funeral home tonight. An elder from my childhood church passed away and it will be very crowded as she taught the 4/5 year old Sunday school and training union classes for the past 50+ years. Yes, 50+ is correct, I think she would have made 97 this year. Last summer she was still fishing at the creek. Spry thing who loved the Lord and teaching children about him. But a friend called and her husband was taking her to the doctor for tests and I may have her kids this evening. Not sure what is going on there, she sounded upset when she called, but she will tell me in her own time I know.

So, I know I won't be walking tonight, so I am gonna get the WII out again. You all have motivated me so much. If you can stick to it and keep going, I can too. :goodvibes

Great job getting on the Wii! I hope you are able to find some time to get it in again tonight.

Sounds like your elder had a wonderful life, I'm sure there will be tons of people stopping by to celebrate her life. :goodvibes

I hope all is well with your friend. :wizard:

Great job getting on the Wii!:thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear about the elder from your church. It sounds like there will be a lot of people at the wake tonight to celebrate her life. That is amazing that she served in ministry to the Sunday school class and the training union class for over 50 years. I bet she encountered thousands of people in her lifetime and blessed their lives in the Lord! :goodvibes

Sending some :wizard: for your friend. I hope she is okay.

Have a nice evening!
