2026 MMB info Announced

To clarify, the rules for OTU points are per UY. However, you are entitled to the benefit of BOGO under MMB per calendar year.

That’s why it gets a little confusing. I bought OTU points in my June 2025 UY using the BOGO benefit.

I can still buy OTU points in my Aug or Dec 2025 UY, but I will pay full price for those if I wanted to buy them before Dec 31st, 2025.

To get the benefit of BOGO in one of those UYs, I have to wait to buy them until January 1st, 2026 when my 2026 benefits kick in.
Let's be very clear.

I used my 2025 Membership Magic Beyond benefit to purchase OTUP in my December 2025 Use Year, which hasn't started yet.

The only reason you can't use BOGO for your December 2025 UY is because you've already redeemed your Calendar Year 2025 MMB benefit, not because you would have been otherwise required to wait until your benefit period and your use year overlapped.

Correct which is why I said thst UY doesn’t matter when it comes to determining this.

MMB Owners can buy one set of BOGO free OTU points during 2025 for any date that was 7 months or less from the date of purchase.

They were asking why they couldn’t get the benefit again for a different UY.

I can still buy OTU points for my Dec UY if I want. I just pay full price if I buy before Dec 31st unless I buy the 2026 MMB and buy them Jan 1st, 2026.

Buying one time use points to rent them is almost certainly going to run afoul of the no commercial use rule.

Unless someone rents their own points and uses the OTU points for their own reservations.

DVC has a commercial use policy in play and this would not cause an owner to be in violation of it unless they are already renting a lot of points.

Points are fungible.

You take the OTUP and use them yourself, then take points you would have used yourself and bank them, then take points you would have banked and rent them out.

You don't even have to do the renting out in the current year. Unless you're banking 100% of your points already you can just bank more than you otherwise would have until some future date, years from now, when you have too many points banked to fully use and rent them out then.

Every DVC point gets you about $40 worth of accomodations at rack rate. It would be nearly impossible to NOT get your money's worth if you had access to points at $10 each.
