Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Thanks Amy

Skill, I have no skill at sewing, trust me. I found the Disboutiqers thread and then learned about these great patterns from CarlaC that even I can follow. From those and lots of tips from the wonderful people on that thread, I can make some passable things that DD will wear. DS, well he is kind of funny about his clothes, but he tries to humor me.

Yes, we went last November during Thanksgiving week also. One thing I always wanted was to see it all decorated for Christmas and stay at the WL, so that is what we did. A long time ago the WL lobby tree was put up during the night Thanksgiving night and any guest could stay up and help decorate the tree. Of course they don't do that anymore, but it sounded like so much fun. One day I am going to figure out when they do put it up, or maybe the one at the GF, and be there to at least watch some. Of course it will be a long time before I can stay at a Deluxe again.

Today was a good day. Soccer game went well and for the first time the team had to actually work to win. Not that they keep "official" score at this age. The kids are really learning how to work as a team though and that was evident. They have a good coach who stresses teamwork. He even threatened to bench one of the boys who was having an attitude about the girls being on the team. And this was the best player he was going to bench.

The pumpkin party was fun. I will post a couple pics, once I can get photobucket to work. Lots of neat pumpkins.

No exercise again today, but I am detemined to get out in the morning. But I need to get off the Dis and go to bed. Couple more threads to check and then I will.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday. :goodvibes

We went to WDW a couple Christmas's ago. It was really cool to see all the amazing decorations.

I also envy your sewing, it took me 2 hours to sew 8 buttons on DH's and my costumes! Susie Homemaker, I am not! :lmao:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :goodvibes

Hi Amy, yes, I do love Christmas decorations. :love:You should see my house. DH is almost as bad as me with Christmas. A good third of the stuff in our attic is Christmas. :santa:

Just popping in to say that I did get in some Exercise today. I did 8 miles this morning. and it was cold: Granted probably just around 50 and I really wanted to still be in bed, but for about the first four miles, I was.....cold: All I kept thinking was, long pants, I really need some long walking pants. I had a jacket, but my legs had goose bumps on top of goose bumps.

Then this evening I cleaned the dance studio. 2 1/2 hours of sweeping, dusting, mopping, etc. I'm tired and going to bed now. I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow. Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine are always way too short. :upsidedow

Great job on getting that workout in! :cool1: I can't sympathize with the being cold part yet - it's still in the 80's here!

My house is also decked out during Christmas (and Halloween!). I think my DH dreads when I go "day after Christmas" shopping. ;)

::yes:: I love day after Christmas shopping. I get some of the best deals. Especially on Christmas decorations. I have been known to ship a box of stuff back from NY when we have been there for Christmas.

No exercise today. Today was my off day....kind of. I did walk to the post office and it is almost one mile each way. But I resisted walking during dance lessons tonight.

I have been trying to eat healthier and some days are better than others. I love oatmeal, and could eat it every day, but it nevers keeps me until lunch, so most days at work I eat a bagel. Today I tried adding some raisins and walnuts to my oatmeal. Worked great. :thumbsup2

Great job getting your exercise in, Lisa!:cheer2:

I love Christmas too! Decorating, shopping, parties, baking, looking at Christmas light displays. I especially love Christmas at WDW! Fun, fun, fun!:santa:

I hope you have a nice day today!

Last year we were putting up decorations and there was a whole box full of "new" stuff with the tags and everything still on them! I had bought a bunch of 1/2 price things the year before, then just packed them away. It was like early Christmas, I didn't even remember buying most of it! :goodvibes

I have a recipe for "chocolate" oatmeal that has protein powder in it. I absolutely love it and I am not hungry for at least 4-5 hrs after breakfast. If you are interested, let me know and I will give you the recipe.

I would love the recipe, thank you for the offer. and I  chocolate.

No exercise yesterday. We had our Halloween party/picnic at work and as usual I worked it. I am on the special events committee. I normally don't dress up, but I said next year I was going to wear a bar maid outfit. :rotfl: That should be a sight. I always end up serving drinks (pouring soda) at these things, so I think that costume would fit in.

Since I was on my feet for fours hours straight, working, a huge accomplishment for me by the way. Plus I had to do all of my regular work. Then at home it was the usual, pick up, cook dinner, clean up, do laundry, run errands, etc, etc. I was too tired last night by the time I had any time to exercise.

Oh well, I'll be back to it tonight hopefully.

Chocolate Oatmeal:
1/3c oats (I use the old-fashioned kind)
1/2c water (or more, depending on how thick you want it)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use the fast mix kind from Hi-Health)

Mix all these ingredients together, microwave for about 1:45 (time might vary for your microwave).

Stir in 1 tbsp of peanut butter. I add a splash of milk and it is yummy! At least I think it is. My DD10 and DH, not so much... :rotfl:

I'm sure you will get back into the exercise routine. It's tough when life takes over!

Hey Lisa,

Count me in as another Lover of Christmas Decorations! I have a lot of my own stuff (like tons) partly because I buy it and partly because with a Christmas birthday, people always give me Christmas decorations for a bday gift, then when my mom died, I inherited a lot of her things! I need a bigger house to put it all out!

You are going to have so much fun in WDW next month. Where are you staying?

Keep up your good work, you are doing great. And definitely give that chocolate oatmeal a try, I have made that too and like Amy said, it holds you over for hours!

Have a super day!:goodvibes

Hello everyone
I think I am all caught up with everyone else, so now it is time for mine.

Wednesday
I walked three miles while DD had soccer practice at about 13.5 minute miles. Not bad for around the fields. I have been having a hard time walking on the part that is just grass.
Got home and Gram and neices were there using my laundry room. Gram's dryer broke. Of course they hadn't had dinner so I started cooking. Then I realized I had three perfectly capable teenagers sitting in my family room. So I put them all to work. Dinner got done much faster and they all actually did what I asked them to.:goodvibes

Thursday
DD went to a friend's after school and DS had soccer practice so I was able to do a bit of shopping after work. DD's birthday is in two weeks and I need to get her presents finished.

We are going to have her party at CeC this year. We usually do her parties at home, but this year it really works to have it somewheres else. I'll be able to leave out my sewing and not have to pick all the vacation stuff up as we leave one week after her bday for WDW.:banana::banana:

No exercise Thursday. By the time I got DS from practice, DD from her friends, ran to WalMart cause I forgot the item for snack that DD needed for school, got home, had dinner, got home work done, it was too late. If I exercise too late, then I can't go to sleep. Guess what? I had insonia last night.:headache: So I was up late anyway. :sad2:

Not sure what is going to happen this evening. DS is doing the color guard at the football game, if it doesn't rain. I think DH is working the football game. I have a dozen errands I need to run. and I need to work on my garage. We are suppose to be having a yard sale next weekend and I am nowheres near being ready. I have done a bit as I had originally planned to do it the first weekend of October, but then we ended up in NY.

It will be a busy weekend, but I "want" to walk Saturday morning, but if it is raining, then will go early Sunday.

I hope everyone has a really great day.:upsidedow

I bet you are so excited to be this close to your WDW trip!

Have fun with the yard sale.

Hi Lisa,

My DD8's birthday is in two weeks too! When is your DD's birthday?

Great job getting your walk in!:thumbsup2

Sending some :wizard::wizard: to help you with your to do list this weekend. I hope the weather cooperates for football tonight.:wizard:

Have a great weekend!

Lisa, you are one busy lady! Your trip is so close, now you can say its this month!

Hope the weather cooperated for football. This time of year you just never know.

Keep up the good work and I hope you got your walking in this weekend in the midst of all you had going on!

Hi Lisa,

Just a couple more weeks now until WDW...I bet you're getting excited!

Hope you have a great day!

Hi Lisa,

How are you? I hope you are doing well.

Two weeks til Disney...I bet everyone is getting excited!!! :woohoo::yay::banana:

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi Lisa, Happy Friday! I am somehow thinking you had a really busy week! Hope all is well and that you have a nice, relaxing weekend!:)

Sorry Everyone!!!!!!!

Amy and Tracy
Thank you for sticking with me. Yes, I am soooooo excited. We leave in 13 days. :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay:

I'm here though. Life has been incrediably busy this week. I did a Department Picnic at work for which I was in charge of the food.(just 100 people) so it wasn't too bad. But it kept me so busy at work I didn't have time to Dis during the day. Then at night I have been working each evening getting ready for a yard sale today. (Did good, I made my goal.:yay:) The timekeeping program I use at work was on the fritz and that was a nightmare. I ended up going in Friday AM just to finish so everyone could get paid. I did try to get on the DIS one night and it was down for maintenance.:confused3 They just did maintenance a couple weeks ago. :confused3

I did walk 4 miles on Thursday, 2 with Roo and 2 without. I take her to the track with me sometimes and put her in the car when she gets tired. I couldn't keep my pace though. About at mile 3.75 I got into a good pace. I think I was too tired from doing the picnic that day.

I plan to walk in the morning, but am not sure what to shoot for. Guess I'll just plan for 6 maybe and see how it goes. I have to clean the dance studio so I can't get too tired.

Also, my eating schedule is completely out of wack. I didn't eat right the day of the picnic. I am so busy that I just get a couple bites here and there. Then today I had a couple bites of muffin this morning about 9:00, part of a banana around 11:45 and then a sandwich at 1:30. Dinner tonight was Subway, so that was better. Between bad eating and being so busy, I'm tired.

I have got to figure out my schedule for the next two weeks. DD's birthday is this Friday (yes the 13th) and her party on Saturday. One smart thing I did was give in to her request to have her party at CEC. I have to sew the girls clothes for Disney and we leave in 13 days. I have about 6 outfits each planned which is one a day. I'm not that good either, but it is simple stuff. I plan to keep up with my walking schedule, or more to the point get back on track.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We have had a beautiful week weather wise, but now a storm is in the Gulf,:scared1: or at least heading that way. It's November and the season is almost over and NOW a storm shows up. I am expecting a call from DSIL in NY reminding what happens each time I try to go to Disney. :sad2:

Hi Lisa,

Sounds like last week was super busy for you! Sending lots of :wizard::wizard: to help you get everything you need to get done before your trip.

Great job keeping up with your walking!:thumbsup2

My DD8's birthday is on the 16th and her party is on the 15th. We're trying to get ready for it now so we're not running around the day before.

Hope you have a great Sunday and a wonderful week ahead!
