Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

I hope the weather cooperates when you are there! A lot can happen weather-wise in the next couple weeks, so I'm sure that storm system will be out of the way soon. :wizard:

Hi Lisa,

I wondered if that strom in the gulf was going to be a problem for you. I will say a prayer it isnt' bad and doesn't give you or anyone else any trouble!

Very wise to have the party at CEC. When your trip is so close, the last thing you need is a home birthday party! Let good old Chuck E do the work (while good old mom pays for it lol).

Good job getting the walking in when you are so busy. I hope you got a nice walk in this morning!

Your trip is close, you must be so excited!:yay:

Hello everyone
The storm has not caused us any trouble. We didn't get as much rain as predicted for us and the winds aren't as strong either. I did have to dodge a couple fallen limbs on my way to work this morning, everything seems to be okay for us. Thanks for the prayers.

Tracy, my oldest DS' birthday is also in November, he is on the 21st. And I have one DN with a birthday on the 8th. November is a busy birthday month for me.

I walked 6 miles on Sunday, then cleaned the dance studio (3 hours), then worked in the garage and attic (2 hours), then took DD to the Street Fair in town and walked for another 2 hours. Needless to say after Saturday and Sunday, I was kind of tired.
Yesterday (Monday) was my rest day. Today, I hope to walk again, if the weather cooperates, which it should.

You would think with all of this walking I'm doing I would have really lost weight by now, but I haven't. I have still only lost 11lbs since I started this. I realize I have built up muscle and muscle weighs more than fat, but still...... it is frustrating. Of course, I eat horribly. I try, but I have very bad eating habits. Yesterday, I brought food from home, snacks and everything. Well, I wanted something crunchy with lunch and got a bag of chips. I was just going to eat a few, but starting reading the news and didn't realize what I was doing until the bag was empty. :headache: Next time I will get a few out of the bag and then throw the bag away BEFORE I start eating.

DD is going to spend the night with April on Friday night so she can go watch Chloee play soccer. The girls have been playing at the same time each Saturday, but in two different towns so they haven't been able to see each other play. DD had her last game this past Saturday. DH and DS will be at the High School soccer games Friday night, so I will be able to sew for a few hours in peace. Hopefully will get a few things done then. I have way too much planned as usual.

I hope everyone has a really great day today.:flower3:

I'm glad to hear that the storm has not caused you any trouble, Lisa. :goodvibes That is certainly good news!:thumbsup2

I know what you mean about November birthdays! We've got birthdays on the 1st, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 25th in our family. :faint: Plus, Thanksgiving! November is usually a very busy month for us too. ::yes::

You are doing a great job getting your walks in!:thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

How are the Disney preparations going? I need to get started on ours soon. We're finally under the 30 day mark!

Hope you have a wonderful day, my friend!

You definitely have the exercise part down, I know you can focus on the food part! Do you keep a food journal? Maybe posting your food on here will help you behave. I know I am less inclined to eat junk if I have to 'fess up to my WISH buddies! :goodvibes

Your trip is right around the corner, how exciting!

Wow, under two weeks to WDW! It just doesn't get any better.:cloud9:

I am glad the storm didn't give you any problems, that is good news!

As for your food, maybe try adding one healthy thing a week. Like an extra piece of fruit or serving of vegetables. And drink you water, that can really help with weight loss!

You can do it, you have a lot of discipline, its just a matter of establishing the habit. I know you will!

Thanks Tracy, Amy and Amy

Tracy, you certainly have me beat on the November birthdays. :worship: Goodness that is a lot of them.

Amy - you are right. Posting my food would probably help. I have thought about it and actually did a few months back, but stopped. I do think before I eat something. "Would I want to post that I ate this?" :sad2:

Amy - problem is I buy fruit and then forget to eat it and it goes to waste. I do like fruit, but hate vegies. Or most vegies. There are some I actually like, just don't get them very often for some reason. I do drink water, a lot and some mike every day.

Friday was DD's birthday and we ended up taking her out Friday night for dinner before she went to April's for the night. Of course she chose Ryan's buffet. She likes the ice cream machine. I did good though, I had a small salad, some roast, rice and gravy and sweet potato. For dessert and small portion of peach cobbler. Sounds like a lot, but I had small portions of everything. Oh, and two rolls. I just can not resist those rolls.

Saturday, was my long walk for the week. I completed 10 miles. :woohoo: First time in double digit land. :thumbsup2 Then I worked on sewing for a couple hours and then got ready for DD's party at CEC. The party went real well and DD was very happy.
Food Saturday:
cereal bar
3 Clif Shot bloks
cereal
roll, 1/3 of chichen breast and a few bites of potatoe salad
1 slice cheese pizza
cereal

Sunday, I did the shopping and then we went to have family pictures at Sears. Thought I was doing good and we were early for Christmas pictures, but they were running way behind cause of computer issues. We ended up being there for 3.5 hours. I did DD's birthday pictures at the same time this year. Usually I would do two seperate sessions, but I realized it was much cheaper to do one large package instead of two smaller packages.
Food Sunday:
Breakfast: cereal
Lunch: cereal
snack: 1 cookie and handful of cheez-its
Dinner: a bit of grilled chicken ceaser salad, two bread sticks and one slice of DD's cheese pizza from Olive Garden

It sounds like you had a great weekend, Lisa!!! Happy Belated Birthday to your DD!:bday:

Way to go on your 10 mile walk!!!! :cheer2: :thumbsup2

I hope you have a wonderful day today!

Wow, a 10mi walk? How long did that take you? Way to go!!! :worship:

I see you are also a Cheez-Its fan. I love those things! Have you tried the White Cheddar ones? Yum...

What on earth are Clif Shot bloks? I've heard of Clif bars, I'm guessing it's something related?

Wow, ten miles is a long ways, good for you!

I say if you don't like veggies, don't eat them and stick with the fruit. You do know that things like salsa and marinara sauce count as veggies. Of course so do Bloody Mary's!

Have you tried that V8 Fusion? Its got fruits and veggies and is pretty good. If you have Sams or Costco membership, its much cheaper there.

You are doing so great, and your trip is so close!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!!!:cool1::banana::yay::dance3: I bet you are super busy, but super excited!!!:woohoo::yay: I hope you and your family have safe travels and a wonderful time in WDW!!!!:grouphug:

Thank you ladies for sticking with me.

Amy - V8 Fusion. I have been looking at those but hadn't known anyone who had tried one. Now that I do, I am going to pick a couple up. Thanks

Tracy - thanks for the well wishes on our trip.

Amy - I did my 10 miles in exactly 120 minutes which works out to 12 minute miles. How I did that, I have no idea. :confused3 I have been averaging about 13.25 minute miles. I was having a good day and really moving.

Clif Bloks are these gel blocks that you can eat while doing strenuous exercise. Suppose to take a couple every 45 minutes or so. I take them at mile 7 since that is when Disney will be handing them out during the marathon.

I do like Cheez-Its, but don't really care for the White Cheddar. Not sure why.

Okay, I walked twice this week and did 4 miles each time. Not great, but better than nothing. I really tried to talk myselft out of going each time. I also did a lot of walking at work this week.

I have been busy this week getting ready for out trip. I have been sewing for the girls and my sewing machine starting seezing up suddenly and now I can't get it to work. I was not done sewing either. I was almost done with the second Thanksgiving dress and had thought of a cute Ariel dress to do. But they'll just have to be happy with what I have done. Plus DD has all of her stuff from this past June.

I am so ready to go and have a break. I know it won't be rest and relaxation, but just a break from the real world. I think it will help a lot.

Today is oldest DS' birthday. He is 24. :scared1: I am not old enough to have a 24 year old. Since he is out right now and won't be up when we leave, I'll just leave his gifts in the living room and we'll see how long it takes him to find them. :lmao:

Have a great week and a very Happy Thanksgiving. I'll catch up with everyone when we return. :flower3:

:bday: Happy Birthday to your DS!

Have a wonderful time in the world, Lisa!!!:cool1::banana::dance3::yay::woohoo: Safe travels to you and your family.:grouphug:

I think your training is going well, keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

Have an awesome time at WDW (isn't that a given??)

I envy your sewing ability, even with a broken machine. :worship: I can barely sew a button on... :rolleyes1

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Lisa!!!! :grouphug: I hope you're having a wonderful time in Florida! :wizard:

Happy Thanksgiving Lisa! I know you guys are having a ball in WDW. And even though its not relaxation per se, I come back so rejuvenated and mentally rested from my trips. Albeit with sore feet!

Happy Birthday to your ds! You must have been a young mom that first time around!

Miss you and will be ready to hear all the details when you get back home.:goodvibes

My Lord, 10, 12 minute miles? I'd have to be running from something scary (or running towards Johnny Depp ;))_ to move that fast!:rotfl:

Drink that V8 on ice, if its not cold it tastes sort of yucky. I like both the fruit varieties one is purple and the other is orange, those are the only two I have been able to find.

Hello all and a belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

We arrived back home the evening of Sunday, November 29 and I have been super busy both at home and work since. I always have tons to make up for when I am gone.

Sorry I haven't logged in before now.

We had a wonderful trip and are sad to be back. My only salvation is that I know I will be back in a few weeks.

I am going to get caught up with everyone in the next couple of days and then will tell you about my trip. Haven't decided if I am going to do a trip report or not.

Couple of good things to report.
oldest DS has found an apartment and will be moving soon.
DB found a job in Mobile and will not be moving back in with Gram.
I lost two lbs on my trip (I was sick)

Looking forward to catching up with everyone soon.:goodvibes

Welcome back!

Yay on the 2lbs gone! :cheer2: But boo on the being sick part... :sad2:

Welcome Back, Lisa!!!

I'm glad that you had a wonderful time in WDW! :goodvibes I'm sorry to hear that you were sick though. :( Are you feeling better now?

Hope you have a great day!

Hi Lisa, welcome home! I am so sorry you were sick, I hope you are all better now. Can't wait to hear about the trip. And that is good news about ds and db. Sounds like everybody is getting to where they need to be! :goodvibes
