Lisa and Geoff's Castaway Cay DCL Dream Wedding PJ&TR 11-12-11

So, as I stated earlier in my PJ, the old saying of "Something Old, Something New, Something borrowed, Something blue, and a silver sixpence in your shoe..." motivated me to buy a silver sixpence. I bought a 1927 one since it was the year my maternal grandparents got married and it is my grandmother's diamond that is set in my engagement ring. (This is what I have always wanted!!) Since I am getting married on CC and will be in flip flops, I had a jeweler drill a hold in the sixpence and put a loop on it. I made an ankle bracelet that I will wear on my left foot. I am not supersticious but if I am going to do part of the jingle...I am going to do it all. And, who couldn't use some wealth in their marriage? (That is what the sixpence is supposed to bring...

I should not have taken the picture on one of my placemats. I am sure I will get better pictures when it is on my ankle at my wedding!!!:cheer2:

Spring Break is next week! Even though I live 15 minutes from WDW, we have decided to get away for a couple of days and are going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside (I still want to call it Dixie Landings LOL). While we are there, the photographer that is cruising with us will take some engagement pictures on property. It should be a fun day!!

I love it! :goodvibes I also love that it will work as an anklet for the beach wedding! So creative and special. Can't wait to see your engagement photos! Have a fun spring break at Port Orleans :)

We have shirts for the boys! My DF, his brother, both of our fathers, and my 2 nephews will wear these shirts. They are Tommy Bahama shirts and the color is called Continental. They are almost the exact color of my wedding gown.

Here you can see the palm tree detail.

They are all going to wear khaki pants (like a caramel color) with them and flip flops. My nephew that is my ring bearer is 5 and he will wear khaki shorts. I think they will all look handsome.

Shoes.....

I got both pairs of shoes for the wedding. For the beach I am going to wear ivory flip flops and on the ship will wear the sandals.

I have the second pair of shows you posted - Marley Silver I think they are called. I bought them to wear when I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. Just a suggestion that you walk around wearing them some before your wedding day to stretch them out a little or get your feet used to them. I barely made it through the ceremony wearing mine because my big toe was being strangled. Don't want you to be in pain on your wedding day.

Good to know...I will definitely take your advice and wear them around the house. Thanks!!

No problem. :) They definitely are a beautiful shoe. I feel in love with them as soon as I saw them. Clean and simple but with that added sparkle. :D

SO- It has been a long time since I have been on here. I have been so busy with school I haven't had much time to spend on here...

I did get my engagement pictures back and they are great. I want to post a few here for you to see. My photographer is a longtime friend of mine (and my family) so he will be going with us on the cruise. I am so happy- he is great!

We took these at Port Orleans Riverside...it is such a pretty place!

The last one was a model of the Magic in the lobby and we took it just for fun but I kinda like how it came out. I also got some shots with us from the front with our Mickey ears on. :)

Yes, we are bringing our own photographer. Just make sure you tell your photographer what you want. Since they are coming with you, they should be open to what you want. I did read somewhere though while you are on Castaway Cay to say they are a friend of yours so they dont have to pay the $800 work permit. My photographer is a friend of mine but if he wasnt, he sure would be that day! LOL

Awesome pics!!!

Thank you KristiLyn!

Love the engagment pics! Looks like you had fun taking them. I agree Port Orleans Riverside is a very pretty place.

My fave is the one with you two in your personalized hats - great idea, thanks for sharing :goodvibes

I have been looking at the personalized wedding dress hangers on Etsy for some time now. Today on my way home from school I thought, I am just going to stop and get some wire and see how difficult it is. I stopped and got the wire for $2.99 and 5 hangers for $5.99. I came home and started playing and within 15 minutes was done. OK, I do realize that it could be better (but alot better than some I have seen!) and I didn't leave enough wire before the "M" that is why I wrapped it around the notches in the hanger (I had to add wire). I took it over to my Mom's house where my wedding dress is and it looks GREAT! I still have to put a ribbon around the top and a hidden Mickey and it will be done. I will post another picture when I do that. I am so glad I tried it myself...I am so impatient, I didn't want to wait 2-4 weeks! So funny AND I saved a bunch of money!!

Wow that is really impressive! What's the weight/thickness of the wire that you used? Did you use pliers to bend it or just your hands? Any tips? I thought about buying one, but I might have to take on another DIY project!

I used 12 gauge florist wire. I bent it all with my hands but used the pliers with a napkin (so it didnt make a mark) to squeeze the "w" together. I used a pencil for the first circle on the "M" and the period after Mrs.
