Lion King on Blu Ray? ..and OT question

Does anyone know if and when Lion King will be released on Blu Ray? DS is constantly giving me grief that I didn't buy it on DVD before it went back into the vault.

And just to be OT on my own thread, can anyone explain to me the rationale behind putting movies in "the vault". I understand the principle of creating urgency in sales, but I find it very annoying that I can't get a particular movie when I want it. Many times the movie will only come back out when it is too late and my child has outgrown the need for it.

Lion King most definitely will be issued on blu-ray, but I haven't seen anything on the release schedule for 2009, or 2010. The next core Disney movies for blu-ray are Snow White this Fall, and Fantasia in the Spring.

You can probably find a used DVD somewhere relatively inexpensive.
