Im having trouble linking my resort reservation from cheaptickets to my disney expirience. It lets me enter my confirmation number and last name on mde but then it says we need more information. Enter the resort , checkin date, and reservation phone number. Once i do that it says we cannot find the reservation. I believe its the reservation phone number that may be the problem, but im not sure.

Cheaptickets confirmed my phone number with me but it still didn't work. Anyone have thise issue before?

What's the number you're entering?

You need the DISNEY confirmation number. It starts with a 4 and it's... I want to say 12 digits long. If you don't have that, call Cheaptickets and ask them for it. Sometimes it comes in a second email.

OP I gave it 24 hours and I called the Disney customer service line to have them look into it and they gave me totally different confirmation number than the one I received when i called cheaptickets.com. They proceeded to link it to my MDE account on the phone too.

It's nothing to do with the phone number. Orbitz and Cheaptickets have been bought by Expedia. In the process of switching them over, they no longer outright give you the code you need to link your reservation to MDX. It used to be included in your confirmation, but the number they give you now is strictly an Orbitz/Cheaptickets internal number and it will not work with Disney's system. The Disney confirmation numbers are a 12 digit number starting with a 4. If you don't have that number, I have gotten it by calling Disney reservations at 407-WDISNEY and asking for it.

The Disney rep I spoke with today didn't want to give it to me but he went ahead and linked the reservations to my MDE account so all was good.

I reserved our resort on cheaptickets. When i called Cheaptickets and asked for the disney confirmation number, they gave me a 9 digit code, that started with a 6. I was able to enter that number into MDE, and it linked my resort reservation. I thought it wouldn't work because I was looking for the 12 digit code that started with a 4, but it did.

I had to call Orbitz for mine..I waited about 2 days before I called and it linked perfectly fine..all it took was a 5-10min wait while the CS contacted Disney resort to retrieve the code..
Once linked double check the shipping address for your magic bands as it may be defaulted to Cheaptickets!

I encountered this situation yesterday after booking a late August stay at the Pop Century. The Cheap Tickets confirmation number did not work, and when I called Disney this afternoon, there was no record of my room reservation. I suppose the next step is to telephone Cheap Tickets tomorrow. That is something I had hoped to avoid, as I had to speak to them last year about an issue with my booking at Universal's Cabana Bay, and it was like speaking through a tunnel to someone who didn't seem to understand English all that well. Already I can sense that they are not going to understand what I want them to do. :sad1:

Still, I got my stacked discounts. I haven't stayed at the Pop for some years, and I am stoked about seeing a bridge that actually goes somewhere now. :sunny:

I just booked Wilderness Lodge through Cheap Tickets on Thursday. Ended up saving another 20% off of the recent Disney "Room Only" offer. I kept trying to link my reservation on My Disney Experience, with little success. Both Cheap Tickets and Disney told me to wait 72 hours. I did and then called again today when it still wasn't linking. I had the best luck calling the Disney number and saying "Linking Resort Reservation" at the prompt. The customer service rep was very knowledgeable and they can search your reservation by your check in date and last name. He was able to give me a different confirmation number that started with a "4" and worked like a charm. It is a little bit of a hassle but so worth it to save an additional $400!!!

Yes, I suppose it's going to work out eventually. It is just disappointing to have to wait around "72 hours" in the 21st century--seems like this kind of thing ought to take 72 seconds. The information age is rather disappointing in certain respects.

I just linked my cheaptickets reservation with MDE last week. I booked through cheaptickets, then waited 24 hours and emailed them(cheaptickets) and asked for my Disney confirmation number and they sent it within 4 hours of me emailing them. Super simple and I didn't have to call.

I sent an email to CheapTickets yesterday asking for the proper confirmation number, but got no response. The Disney person told me to check again with the DRC on Tuesday, and they ought to have it by then.

BTW, just finding an email address for CheapTickets was no easy feat. I finally located one at the tail end of the "Terms and Conditions" in the section on contacting them. Now as to whether someone there actually read my message....

Update to above: I got through to CheapTickets on the phone, and after being given the useless code from my email confirmation, I was able to get the phone rep to find the correct code for linking to MDE. It was a nine-digit code that started with a 6. As a previous poster indicated, this does work correctly even though most people seem to be getting the twelve-digit code. Anyhoo, I'm "in the system" as they say; it's just too bad that so much effort is required on the customer's part.

Today I got one of those "XXX Days 'Til Your Vacation!" emails from Disney, and it included the twelve-digit code starting with 4 that I've heard so much about. This was the first time I had seen it. I do not know if Disney routinely includes the code with these emails, or if it was included only because I had already linked my hotel booking to MDE. Since no deadlines are imminent, I would have been content just to wait for the code and do the linking upon its arrival. Oh well.

I am currently in limbo, waiting for my second email to Cheap Tickets to be answered. I booked Wednesday, called them Thursday, and after much persistence got the 9 digit number beginning with 6. So far it has not worked. I called Disney too, both times the agents told me to go back to the selling agent. This is feeling very frustrating, especially since I believe the Disney people could try to help me more. I am just trying to do all of this too early? Does anyone think waiting will help?

This varies from my experience, which was almost the same except that the 9-digit code starting with 6 did work. I wonder if something more mundane might be the issue here; a zero instead of an "O" or vice versa, or a copy-paste not being recognized properly because of an extra space or spaces.

I ended up getting it from contacting cheaptickets a week after booking and they told me over the phone. disney couldnt give it to me and the first time i called cheaptickets they didnt have it. Call them again

OK, today I stayed on the line with Cheap Tickets for 15 minutes and got the 12 digit room confirmation number, but it still didn't work. When I called Disney again they said they don't usually link room-only reservations to an account. I think I give up.
