The room type (ded vs lock off) was not the problem. The MS rep I spoke to today said that they cannot combine them because the nights with the discount are considered member cash nights, and the other is considered rack rate. I guess if you book at regular price without the 25% the computer blocks them from linking it to a discounted night. She did try and it just would not do it. But, she said the rep who made the reservation was kind enough to note in both that I had 1 extra night, and she said to mention it at the desk, as well. I learn something new every day about DVC.
We booked at VWL for the end of the month. Originally, we booked 11/27-11/30 on cash with the discount. Last month, when we finally decided to book air, we discovered it was MUCH cheaper to fly home on 12/1...so much so that the savings would pay for another night at the lodge!
Since I would rather spend my money on another day at Disney, I called MS to see if we could get the Friday night. We could, but no discount was available. No problem.
I called again last week to add the DDP to our stay, and was told that our reservations were not linked because "the room type was different." I said "EXCUSE ME????" We booked a studio for both. She then said..."oh no, the price is different, so we cannot link them"
Is that right? Both rooms are studios, I checked my confirmations AND double checked with the MS rep. They were both booked through MS. I really do not want to move for 1 night if I don't have to, and I know they still could move us if they were linked, but I also know there is less chance of that if they are linked. I know I could let them know at check in that we will be there til the 1st, but I would think having the reservations linked would be better. I don't understand why they cannot be linked, since they CAN link point and cash reservations.
Could someone please shed some light on this??? Have you linked both member discount MS cash reservations and full price MS cash reservations?
