LINK TO MY TR POSTED 10/30 - I'm Ali & I'm Addicted to Disney Planning - Oct '10 PTR

:welcome: Thanks for stopping by!

Can you believe how close we are getting?! I started my countdown in triple digits (like 230 something days) and now I'm down to the mid 80s! It's coming up fast!

We started off by just going for a week (one day at each park), then we bumped it up to 8 days so we could do each park twice, and this year I decided to add in an "off day." It seems that I never have any nice pictures of the resort, we never get to do any non-park stuff because we run out of time, and washing 10 days worth of laundry all at once when we got back home was just too much. Having a day off will allow us to do a lot of other stuff AND get some clothes washed so when we get home I'm not so overwhelmed!

Fantasia Gardens is the one that appeals to me the most so that's definitely the one we'll be heading to. Since they don't offer direct transport, I'm glad that both courses are at least within walking distance to other places. It looks like we'll be taking a park bus (which ever comes up first I suppose), then transferring to a Swan/Dolphin bus, then walking just across the street to FG. I'm really excited! I actually beat Lumar at mini-golf the last time we played (he usually beats me at EVERYTHING)!

I just hit 89 days today! :dance3: I actually only booked my trip at the beginning of this month, so I was never above 150 days (for this trip, anyway). The sad thing is I'm already thinking about my next THREE trips :lmao:

I totally understand your reasoning for the longer trip, believe me. My best friend and her husband and I are planning a trip for next fall and it'll probably be eight or nine days. Ten if I can talk them into it :lmao: That's great that you guys will be able to do laundry and relax and stuff in the middle of your trip, too. That's always a good thing :)

I really liked Fantasia Gardens, as long as the effects were all working. I would say if you guys can, go in the later evening. You can actually see the Fantasmic fireworks from it! We found that out by accident when we were playing. But yeah, I liked that one a lot better than Winter Summerland :)

Nope, we'll be at MNSSHP that night so we'll be hitting up FG in the early afternoon. Thanks for that little tidbit of info though! Maybe next year!

So you think it's definitely better to start from the Swan/Dophin as opposed to the Beach Club? I don't mind walking but if the Beach Club is really far up the road then I'll stick with the Swan/Dolphin.

ETA: Oh yeah, I just looked at a map...the Swan is definitely closer than the Boarwalk!

Do the Swan/Dolphin have like a QS cafeteria at all that maybe we could get lunch at? :confused3

Oh yes, the Swan/Dolphin is much closer than BC or the Boardwalk! They are literally right across the street! :cool1:

I've never been in either the Swan or Dolphin, but for QS, they have Picabu's that a lot of people who stayed at the BC talked about. It's open 24 hours so I guess lots of people who stay at BC or YC walk over there if they want to eat late at night.

I'm probably not going to use my mini-golf voucher this time, to be honest. I don't want to go mini-golfing by myself :lmao: I hope you guys have a good time! :)

:lmao::lmao: What ?? (Not)..playing with yourself again?? :lmao:
(Sorry for hijacking the thread Simba...but it was too good an opportunity (not) to pass up on...!)

So I don't have anything new and exciting to share about our upcoming trip, but I recently obtained a new photo editing program and thought I would share what I've been working on.

Clearly, my favorite effect is a black and white photo with one object in color :goodvibes

This was not taken at Disney:

I have a lot more pictures to work with and a bunch of new effects I want to try but this is what I've done in the last 24 hours. I'm so excited to go back to WDW and take new pictures!

Pretty! I like the castle and balloon ones best :)

Thanks! The original print of the 2nd castle shot is actually one of my favorite pics.

That balloon was actually attached to a stroller and I managed to grab a shot of it before the owners walked away lol

Love the pictures! I especially like the one of ToT and the balloon! I need to get more shots of things like that on this trip! Thanks for the ideas! :cool1:

no problem! I actually took a similar shot of the ToT in 2007 and when I loaded it onto the computer I deleted the original from my memory card...I then proceeded to shrink it and SAVED it instead of saving it as a copy. So I couldn't do anything with the shot because it was too small. When we went back, I retook it and now I'm preparing to frame it so it can be hung up in our hallway :goodvibes

Everyone seems to really like that balloon shot, too! It's so funny to me because I was sitting at a table down in front of The Plaza on that little lakeside patio and that balloon was attached to a stroller up in front of the castle so I had to zoom in pretty far. It also took about 10 tries because the people who owned it kept walking in front of it!

Hi! I was going through my PTR and saw the comments you had left and noticed you started a PTR of your own so I wanted to come over and say hello! I'm all caught up, your plans look great! :thumbsup2 Also, beautiful pictures!!

Hey Jen! I've been lurking around most trip reports these days! My computer at work has a firewall that makes it hard to get on the DIS! It messes with the pictures and the formats, and trying to DIS from cell phone is just not worth it! Glad you like the pics! I can't wait to start framing some of them!

Just in case no one has mentioned it to you in the last couple of days, Star Tours will definitely be closed until through May because it's being completely overhauled, and One Man's Dream will be closed from August - November.
