Lines at bag check/turnstiles

I've tried to find a similar topic on the boards but can't...we like to get to the parks later, like 10am and were surprised in October by really long waits to get in. Like a half hour/45 minutes. Of course we had some issues with our MB so I can't remember how much of the wait is caused by that.

Either way, planning our next trip and wondering how much time to allow (in early September) for getting into the parks (just the bag check/turnstile, we are staying onsite) and if our experience last time was normal or if it's more typical to walk in that time of day with barely a wait.

Most people show up between 10:00 and 11:00. You can expect it to take 30 minutes or so every time.

Oh good to know! I thought everyone tried to get there at rope drop. That being the case then, is it safe to assume shorter times mid afternoon or evening?

The reason people here recommend getting there for rope drop is to get the headliners done before the hoards start pouring in in the late morning.

Lines getting into the park late in the afternoon and in the evening will be shorter. Lines for attractions will not.

I've never waited anywhere near 30 minutes to get through bag check/turnstiles during this timeslot and this is generally the time we arrive. Once or twice we waited 10 minutes, but most of the time it takes us about 1-3 minutes to get through bagcheck and 1-2 minutes to tap our bands. Sometimes there is no wait at all.

Agree with Disneylover99. We typically arrive around 10am and have never waited more than just a few minutes. Maybe 10 in total to get through both sections. And that's a high estimate. We are usually in the parks during spring break too.

We just got back Christmas Eve. We actually had zero waits through bag check or turnstiles between 10am-11am. :thumbsup2
