Linda's goal = Lose wt + 1/2 marathon 09(encouragement welcome)

Yesterday was my official first day of training but my long runs are on Sundays so Monday is a rest day.I did run at work for 10 hrs. wished that counted!

Today I did my first run in my training- was supposed to be 2 miles at 11:49 easy, well for anyone that knows me they know that won't happen so I did 3.12 miles in 31:50, a 10:12 pace.I did start off slow and felt alot better than I did last week on my runs.

After that I went out on my bike for 6 miles in 26:38, a pretty steady pace with lots of tension( Don't know which gear I am in)

Now off to do abs and weights.

Weigh in tomorrow better be good

Linda -- Your workouts blow me away. I WISH I were as fast as you. But, don't overdo it. Good luck on your weigh-in tomorrow! pixiedust:
 
Down 3.2 lbs since last week, I'll take it.

Oh for the record my DH who started his diet on 6/1 has lost 9.6 lbs.??????????? Why that is just not fair!

XT today- doing the ellitical x 45 mins today then weights and abs.

I did it- 45 mins= 2.96 miles and 410 cals. Abs are killing me!
 
Awesome WI, Linda! I am SOOO happy that you are seeing your efforts pay off on the scale. Oh, and your workouts ROCK!!! :woohoo:
 

5 mile tempo run today. Did it in 51:37, a 10:19 pace.Not my best but first time doing this distance in a while.

No running today.Did 6.19 miles on my bike in 27:50, just like to keep track- make sure I'm not slacking.

Weights and then abs.

What a day out there.

How did your daughter's team do? My daughter wants to play soccer next year but i'm not too sure about it, she isn't really a team sport person, more of a sideline chatter :) I'm sure she could do it though. You are doing great with your exercise, I have been working on getting back, slowly but surely :)
 
DDs team lost in the semis.Oh well.You get what you put into it and they all played lousy.

Today I did my LR-6 miles in 1:02:03,a 10:20 pace.I'll take it since I have not done that distance in a long time.

Then I did 3.25 on my bike in 15:32.

After that I washed the car.Lots of bugs and dust from the lot at the fields on Saturday.I was sweating so the hose felt great.

Weights and abs tonight- have to shower now and get some stuff done.

Ran after work yesterday, 3.44 miles in 34:36, a 10:03 pace.Figured it was a good time to get out, we had not seen sun in days and it was out yesterday but down pouring again today- I feel like I am in London or Seattle!

Today I did the elliptical x 30 mins, 2.12 miles and 293 cals., then weights after.

The weigh in was not so great- up a lb. but I am going to weigh again tomorrow just to see because I had popcorn before bed last night and even my eyes were puffy when I got up.I have not eaten an extra 3500 cals for that lb. No way no how! Not with the way I have been moving.

Oh ya DH has lost 11 lbs.- MEN!

Well not Seattle currently, it hasn't rained there in 23 days! You are doing awesome on the workouts. I am a little bit more encouraged now with the running, I did another 3.5 miles today which wasn't half bad after running 6.7 yesterday. Tomorrow is a rest day and then I think i'll be getting up semi-early for a longish run on Saturday. I was looking at the PT test requirements for the Army and now that i'm not a youngster anymore the PT test won't be as bad as it was when I first went in at age 18! I'll be in shape for that by the time I do the half marathon in 2010. I'm excited, I signed up for my classes today and actually ran into someone else who is going back into the reserves. I think i'll go back in come January and then do my 2 week school next summer and hopefully they won't deploy me for one year, at least until I am done with school. I'd be glad to go once i'm done with my FNP though!
 
I am so FRUSTRATED! For all the working out I do my weight keeps fluctuating between the same 2-3 lbs.If it is going to stay the same I would rather be on the couch eating Tollhouse cookies!

I could scream right now.I am actually having labs drawn this week for my thyroid and hormone levels. There could be an answer there.I had 1/2 my thyroid removed in 2003.My TOM has not been regular since 2005, at age 39.

Well maybe my metabolism is in the toilet.At least it would be an answer.

Running 5 miles today, if the rain holds off.

:hug: Linda I feel your frustration. Same thing for me with the weight, a little down, then a little up. Running like a mad woman too, but I don't seem to get anywhere.

Good idea checking on the thyroid and hormones, hope things come out okay.

Funny you mention Tollhouse-DD want to make a "cookie cake" for Daddy for Fathers day. I am going to buy the tube of dough and just let her put it in the pan and bake it. Then she can decorate it.

Did the 5 miles in 49:27,a 9:53 pace.After the run did 5.32 miles on my bike in 24:24.

Now off to do weights and abs.

Linda- I got your PM. Here's what is funny. I shop at WalMart super center. So I pick up the Tollhouse tube o' dough. I go thru self checkout (i like to pack my own groceries, part of my OCD:lmao:) I scan the dough and it says item recalled. The cashier says I can't sell you that its recalled. I say then why is it on the shelf. No matter DD goes and gets Pillsbury instead (I really do like Tollhouse better). I tell DH about what happened and he says Wow, I only read about it on CNN like at 1pm, I was at WM at 12:30. So they must have a pretty good system for notifying retailers about it. They did send someone to pull them off the shelf right away, must be I was the first person to try to buy it after the notification, so the system knew, just not the staff.

Ran 3.0 miles today in 30:39, a 10:13 pace and boy did I feel it.I have not run in a week due to rain and being sick- sinus and ears, not to mention the hormone issue.

Had the labs drawn yesterday.I will call tomorrow for the results.

I did not weigh in today because of the lousy week I had- there is no point ,it would only add to the frustration.

Oh boy I am quite the downer this week aren't I ?

I feel ya, sistah. I am currently suffering from some type of allergy/sinus/cold thing and haven't run since Tuesday. I am not going to until Sunday, our long run. My body is telling me to rest, so I will.

I did weigh in :scared1: up again, this time 2 lbs. I ate Chinese yesterday, so am retaining, but really my food has been all over. I am hoping to get back to better eating next week once this illness of mine is gone.

We just keep on keepin on, that's all we can do.
