Anyone have any suggestions on a reliable limo service from the airport to the port? :confused3

Thanks!

There are many options....

Tiffany Town Car
Arts Shuttle
Florida Tours
Happy Limo

plus some more I can't remember. We always rent a car but many people swear by the different limo services. I am sure you will hear people's favorites and why in additional posts.

I just checked the rates for these limo companies and Art's Shuttle is the cheapest at $75.00 one way. Anybody have experience with them?

Our favorite for limo transport to the Port is now Southern Elegance. :thumbsup2

Incredibly reliable, spotless limos, book of DVDs to choose from to watch on the way to the Port, soft drinks of your choice on ice, terrific drivers (ours was Fernando), and top-notch customer service (confirmation of bookings, reminders, etc.).

We've used 3 other limo companies in the past with less than stellar results. After a lot of research and reading comments on the board, we tried Southern Elegance last month and could not have been happier! We had a pick up at the Hyatt Airport hotel to PC, pick up at the Port at the end of the cruise to hotel and finally, a pick up at the hotel back to the airport. They handled it flawlessly.....always there on time, helped with the luggage, professional and friendly.....the best!

We also liked that they do not automatically include the tip in the limo charge. They allow you to add your own amount depending on the value of service you feel you received. And they own their own limos.

Never realized that some companies don't and will "farm out" your reservation to independent drivers with cars. We found out about this after a bad experience going to the Panama Canal repo last year....the guy shows up late, then tried to charge us twice, limo was dirty, two bottles of water in melting ice, broken A/C and the gratuity was already added in. Turns out, the company had "farmed out" our ressie to this guy......a nightmare. He even got a speeding ticket on the way to the Port! That was probably a hoot to other travelers that day....a limo pulled over for speeding! :rotfl2:

Anyway, Southern Elegance gets our vote and our business from now on!!

Lorden Transportation is my vote! Dennis owns and operates, and has better prices and friendlier service than others I've researched. (This is all pre-trip, btw, I go on my cruise in ONE WEEK!!!! :cool1: and I'll be sure to include Limo info in my trip reports!)

So...did I tell you...ONE WEEK!!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :bounce:

We would highly recommend AbsoluteLimos as they gave us excellent service and although we booked on line from England had no problems at all.

Florida Tours is great. Although they're a board sponsor, that's not what convinced me to hire them. I was originally booked with another company but when I called to ask questions, their phone staff was rude. I called FL Tours and they had excellent customer service over the phone and the owner answered all of my questions in a timely fashion, so it that was a good sign. Once we finally got around to experiencing their service firsthand, I was very pleased and plan on using them again next trip.

We also really liked Southern Elegance, but they did refuse to deliver us to the port earlier than 11am. That might have changed, but just beware if getting there early is important to you.

Hi,

We were just on the 3/25 Magic. I read about Lorden Transportation on this board and decided to try it.

Dennis was on time, the limo was clean and beautiful and most of all Dennis was so nice and informative.

I would use Lorden Transporation again in a heartbeat.

pearlieq -- We wanted to be at the Port early....Southern Elegance didn't question it when we booked. We got there around 10:15 a.m. or so. No problem whatsoever....this was last month. FYI.

We used FL Tours in May 05. We needed a van as we had 4 adults and 2 kids. They provided the car and booster seats. They were great to work with - right on time, van was very clean, and driver was very friendly. Will use them again, but not until May 07, darn it! :goodvibes

We are taking the May 18 Wonder, and are arriving in Orlando late on the 17th. There are just two of us. Would it be cheaper for us to just rent a car? I understand Budget is pretty reasonable, and has a shuttle to the departure building.

DS2Mom...what do you do when you arrive at the port so early? It is my understanding they won't start checking people in until 11:30 - noonish. Our plane lands at MCO at 10:00 am, so I guess we won't arrive at port after 11:00.

Thanks to all for the limo suggestions...it's comforting to know which companies other people have had good experiences with (vs. blind-calling or making reservations over the internet). Now I can start making some calls with confidence.

Also, a question about tipping the driver...I know sometimes the tip is included in the quoted cost...do you normally tip in addition to this? Also, if the tip is not included, what is the normal tipping rate?

thanks again, Happy Easter / Passover

We use Legacy Towncar... Very good. We booked them again for our 4/29 trip to Port Canaveral.

You may check in at the terminal at 10:30.
They don't allow you to board until 11:30-12:00.

We've used Happy Limo twice: 2003 and 2005. In 2003, our flights were changed 3 times due to hurricaine remnants passing through central Pa. There was no problem with them keeping up with our changes. In '05, we flew SWA, and didn't realize that the pickup was different at that MCO terminal. Accidentally bumped into one of their drivers (not ours), who told us we had to call the main ressie number to let them know we had arrived. Next hiccup was that we got a surprise upgrade from AKL to PC. Both the driver and us were sitting outside AKL about 40 feet apart for over 10minutes, but didn't know that we (or he) were "it". Our experience is that they don't drive recklessly. I'd hate to be pulled over :rotfl2:
I'll put in the extra hours at work to pay for a private car versus Mears/Disney transfers. It is so nice to have them on your schedule. Some have grocery stops that can pay dividends later. We got enough muffins and juice in 2003 that we were able to skip WDW breakfast prices for 2-3 days.

I believe we will just rent a car from Budget when we fly in on Wednesday, the 17th, then take our time on the morning of the 18th. We'll drop the car off by 10:30, then take the Budget shuttle to the departure point.

We'll also pick up a car Sunday a.m., drive it back to MCO to catch our 12:45 p.m. flight.

Overall, it should still be cheaper than taking the Disney coaches.
