I don't know why I've waited so long -- our trip was 3 months ago! :sad2:

My DS (9) and I looked for "lime green" everywhere and on everyone this past May/June, searching for DISers! We met one DISer guest (with lime green), and 2 DISer CM's (on duty who recognized the lime green and the DISer button I wore).

I would never have believed that LIME GREEN was such a popular color for everything from clothing to packs, strollers, etc. The color was everywhere! Now, while I'm bold enough to approach a complete stranger who I suspect to be a DISer, I'm a little too shy to approach about every 5th person I saw. Wow!

:thewave: A belated "HELLO" to everyone I saw but didn't approach! :thewave::thewave:

i was there in may and looked everywhere for lime green and didnt see any! im going to try again in january

We'll all be wearing the Mickey heads and I'll have my DIS t-shirt on at least one day - twice if we do some laundry during the week.

I wore a little lime green mickey head attatched to my lanyard w/ my SN on it when I went down in June, but didn't notice any other DISers. Of course being at Disney tends to put me on sensory overload with joy :Pinkbounc :hyper: :Pinkbounc :hyper: :Pinkbounc :hyper: :Pinkbounc :hyper: so I probably could have walked by a group of 200 people all in lime green and wouldn't have noticed

We were there in June/July.
Sometime in July I posted a long story about how we had made a craft project out of making Mickey head- Lime Green Buttons on the long carride down to Fla. with our names on them that we pinned all over our family backpack....
Really you couldn't have missed us!
I even wore lime green t-shirt on several different days.
Yes, different shirts.
CLEAN ones.
and how DH (who is normally a quiet sort of man) went out on a limb and greeted everyone we passed with a cheerful hello and a smiling inquiry of "DisBoard Member?"
His greetings met with a lot of well, weird looks- lets just leave it at that.
Not one person aproached us until the last night in the MK and wouldn't you know it! At the time our kids were tired and cranky and behaving in a manner that is not taking advantage of making your best, first impression!
My child actually cut in front of a family, then I had to chase her and so did the rest of the family and THAT was the moment when the lady behind me revealed that she was a Disboard member.
I was so embarassed! LOL

We are going back in October, and even though I know it is going to make DH groan, I am going to try again. If the weather's warm enough I'm wearing those t-shirts again and I am putting the buttons back on the backpack.

Please people, if you see us introduce yourselves!

my dh and i met a dis family at ak during brkfst. and at some point I met a diser on the friendship boat going between epcot and MGM. I'll be there beggining of oct and have Mickey balloon tags on my back pack and whereever DH decides to wear his right now it's on his lanyard.

Well, clearly we need DISboard Logo t-shirts designed with our user names on them.

That should be easy enough, if DISboards were willing to let it go (why not, advertising).

Who to ask?

Kris

EDIT: Well, lookie there, you CAN order a DISboard official shirt, cool! I'm going to get a fannypack, anyway (not that keen on lime green, but I need a fanny pack...

The most I've ever done was to put the lime green ribbon on my fanny pack, stroller, etc and I wore a lime green shirt one day. I've had people stop me on at least a couple of occasions, which was fun.

For my next trip I'm doing the Home Depot lime green mickeys. Don't know for sure what I'll do with them, but will maybe let my husband come up with something clever.

I was out to lunch the other day (ok, I'm very often "out to lunch", but this time it was really lunchtime) and saw someone, I'm assuming someone who works in a drs office, in the brightest 2 piece lime green pantsuit. I had my camera phone with me and wanted to take a picure but was afraid that she'd notice me. I told my husband that that was the outfit that I needed for WDW! He's not a DISer, though, so couldn't truly understand my excitement.

I'm hoping to see more DISers this trip and since I won't have my children with me maybe I won't be so distracted and can actually find someone instead of having them find me.

What are the lime green Home Depot mickeys? We are new to the DIS and our next trip is Oct 1-9. I hope to play spot the DIS board member thru the parks and say hello. Please tell me more...

Some lime green in hopes I will have the chance to meet another Diser.::yes:: :wave2:

I don't know what we'll do for our next trip, but I'm sure it will still be LIME GREEN shirts, ribbons, & buttons.

I guess I'll just have to take an assertiveness course. I'm sure I'll totally embarrass (how DO you spell that word?) my DS (who's 9 now), but DH won't mind being seen with a "wacky" wife (at least I hope he won't mind -- but, maybe if he's too embarrassed he'll just go off and leave me at WDW -- maybe that's not a bad thing!)!

::yes::"Looking for LIME GREEN everywhere I go now!"::yes::

Look in the paint department. They carry a line of "Disney" paints (the colors are themed to various character-types). Some of the paint chips are actually "Mickey" head shaped. Quite cute. I grab up a few almost every time I'm there. I think the LIME GREENs are more of less in BUZZ LIGHTYEAR colors.

disneynay - Home Depot sells Disney logo'd paint. As paint samples, that have cards that are a little bigger than your standard business card. Attached to the card is the traditional Mickey logo in the color of the paint.

The people in my office know how much I love WDW (it's hard not to notice...), and someone went to Home Depot and picked up a handful of samples. They either removed the Mickey logo -or- cut the card to match the shape of the logo, and placed them in the diffusers for fluorescent lights in my office.

Blueyes, I were there, wearing the green, in May. As I am a rather large lady I am pretty darned hard to miss. LOL I met several DISers while there and even got a picture with one mom and daughter. I got a lot of strange looks from people in green that I asked about DIS.

It is awfully hard to wear lime green each and every day, especially since we will be there 16 days in October. I sort of like the idea of wearing something on our heads as it is easier to see in the crowd and could be worn every single day. A sun visor?? Could have DIS and our user names on them. Maybe trimmed with orange? Who but a dedicated DISer would wear lime green AND orange? LOL Just a thought.

What I did was glue two together back to back, poke a hole in the top and hang them on my backpack and our fanny packs. I took others and glued them onto pin-back buttons so we could each wear one and I wrote DIS on each one.

I was there for the last week of July and the first week of august... I word my DIS shirt... looked for others with a lime green mickey... but nothing... not even one person. But I did tell a lot of other people about the boards. There's too much info here to keep it a secret!!!

My Home Depot Mickey heads are "alien green". I think that I'll laminate and then attach to my fanny pack, etc, with lime green ribbon.

Maybe we can do the lime green visor idea and instead of the "Red Hat Society" we could be the "Lime Visor Society". Afterall, we are in our own little world. ;) I'll put a lime visor on my vacation shopping list! Anyone else want to be a charter member? :teeth:

Since I have 3 trips in the works I figure I'd better laminate my Mickey's. My DH said that our laminator came with luggage tags so maybe I'll try that. I'm so excited!

T&B, please count me in. I could wear a lime green visor each and every day.

Anyone else think up an item that would be easy to spot in a crowd and wearable day after day? Some people might not want to mess their hair.

DISers are wonderful people. If you should see me in the parks please holler loud as I cannot hear much but sure can spot a smile a mile away. Will be sporting mine as well.
