Please let me know what they say, I'm also pm you!

I just got back tonight. We stayed there for a week-also a trade through Interval. We were in the 1000 building and had a 2 bedroom. I don't know what Belle got, but our room was very clean; no mosquitoes were around at all-just those annoying "love bugs"; the lobby was o.k....but to me, the room and resort amenities are more important than the lobby.

As I said in a past post, I don't think they should call it a waterpark-it's really a very elaborate pool which my kids-8,5 and 2-loved. I don't know what Belle is talking about a sprinkler in her yard being better...sorry you had a bad experience, but don't get ridiculous with comments like that.

Whoever is going, don't worry. Try to request 700, 800, 900 or 1000 building. We stayed in the 200 (I think) building several years ago, and it too was ok. To me, the townhomes just looked a bit run-down from the outside, so I never considered staying in one. Would I give it 5 stars? No...probably 3. We stayed at the Hard Rock for two nights after our stay at Liki Tiki, and I've stayed in other 5 star hotels, so believe me, I'm fussy about cleanliness, amenities, etc.

YOU WILL HAVE FUN! Don't panic. I will agree with one thing...we saw many reps taking people on time share presentations, and it was a very "interesting" group!

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have...

You were lucky and as Bellethe ball 360 said it will probably be a heck of a lot nicer in the new high risers. And that must have been where you got. We were placed in bldg 5 and I agree with Belle, Sorry that you got lucky and disagree. Did you go into a room in Bldg 5? Well they were musty smelling ,etc. I am very surprised that the lobby doesn't set the stage for what you expect from a resort. The first impression should be a good one. It usually tells the whole story of how the resort is kept up.
I agree with you that you probably are criticizing both Bella and myself since you were able to stay in the new, freshly built buildings. The water park is only a glorified kiddie pool with a theme. If someone was to ask about recommending this place, I would not, that is the bottom line. If they were getting it for almost nothing and could afford nothing more, I would tell them only if the new rooms could be guaranteed. Maybe since we are not trading into the resort, but renting, they don't care if we come back or not.
I am glad your stay worked out, but both belles opinions and mine are based on where we stayed, they are true not exaggerations.

Thanks, I was getting a bit nervous there. Can I ask, did you request a certain area?? I called and they said I have to wait until I check in. Which, I'd rather know now whether I'm staying in an older section or newer section, kwim? Also how close are these buildings to the pool? I think my kids will love it no matter what, its different than any other hotel pool from what I gather, correct?

We booked some friends into this resort this past spring. They were assigned a townhouse - yes they are old and we had never seen one.

After they checked in and saw the rooms, they mentioned ot use that they were not great...so I went to the resort with them and complained on their behalf saying that the rooms were horrible...they are really cottages at best...and demanding a move to one of the newer buildings...

Depeneding on when you are going, there should be room in the new buildings...just go back to the front desk and complain until you get a good room.

The resort in general... a 3 or 4 star resort. There are 3 pool areas. The water park is good for up to age 7 or so... Free coffee and donuts at one of the other pools in the a.m. A little out of the way but a short drive to most anything you want to see or do. Lobby is small and dark....could use a remodel...but you are never there past your first 10 minutes.

Would we go back...sure...would it be our first choice...no...but we can make a fun vacation out of anything as long as there are no visible bugs, etc. Did our daughter have fun trying to catch the little toads that were everywhere after nightfall...yes. Was she thrilled to see a bright green tree frog outside our door one night...yes. It's the little things that matter and as parents, we judge the quality of a vacation and a resort by our children's response both during and after.

Relax and enjoy!!!

janacary and I had a bad experience but as I said we DID not stay in the buildings that were new. WE stayed in the ones that were going to be demolished!!! This is what the salesman told us. I am happy that others have had a good experience and yes we too can make a fun vacation anywhere BUT we have been spoiled as Jcanary has. We have come to find out that it is often nice to come back to a clean and modern room. I think we were in a building in the 400's but do not quote me. I did write them a scathing letter. They bring you down and try to sell the timeshare. Also the huge number of mosquitos were proabably due to the huge swampy puddles on the left hand side of the bridge leading to the "water park".

The whole point is they advertise it as 5 star and that is what you think you are getting and no where on earth is this 5 star. How many 5 star hotels give you a pull out couch not made up and covered with stains of various colors and unknown origins??

ICBORN2RUN as to the remark about the water park I was using hyperbole, (a literary term meaning exaggeration for effect). Obvioulsy you took it literally.
