Likely availability at VWL?

I'm hoping to rent points at VWL in January, but this isn't a rent request. (That part I'm pursuing on the relevant board.)

My question - if I wait until the seven month window opens next month for my January stay, what are my chances of getting a Sunday-Wednesday reservation in a studio for mid-to-late January? (Probably the week *after* MLK, even though that runs into Lotusphere and the crowds it draws.)

I suspect that Sunday check-ins are the most popular for obvious reasons. And knowing that VWL is a small resort, my intuition tells me that it's the most likely to be filled quickly.

(I've tried unsuccessfully to find VWL points to rent before the next window opens - this would be my obvious solution, of course.)

I realize I can probably easily get a studio at OKW for my dates, but my WDW goal is to stay "nowhere twice until I've stayed everywhere once." VWL is the only on-property DVC resort left for me to add to my collection.

I think your chances are very good if your point renting owner tries at the 7 month mark. I'm not aware of anything that makes mid-January particularly busy except possibly MLK Day, and you said you'll be there after that.

I have never tried to book VWL in Jan, so I can't help you there. But I can comment, I LOVE your motto:

"nowhere twice until I've stayed everywhere once."

What a great goal! I just have such a hard time NOT staying at some places!

I think your chances are VERY good. I just rented points for a studio at VWL from someone today (for November). I'm told that January is not as hard to get after the busy holiday season.

That is one time of year when your chances are excellent at 7 months.

Thanks - difficult part now is that all I have left are deluxes, including the Floridian. Finished off the All Stars and moderates years ago, and I'm booked into Saratoga Springs and Pop Century in September.

Still have to polish off:
Grand Floridian
Polynesian
Boardwalk Inn (but I have the Villas already)
Beach Club
Villas at Wilderness Lodge (stayed in the main lodge in '98)

I'm hoping to do the last two in January, then hit one of the first two for our wedding anniversary in a couple years.

Maybe I can count the "Bonnet Creek Resort" and save a little money one of these trips?

To get back on topic for the board - I'm hoping the Eagle Pines Resort will be on the list at some point, though the new SSR expansion probably pushes that back a little farther.
