I don't think it sounds snooty at all. You don't want to be subscribed to tons of PTRs and TRs but only be able to pop in once in a blue moon with a quick "hi." You want to be able to really get to know the people you're reading and remember whether or not they're married. ;)

That's the ticket!!

I'm still trying to figure out a good title. I like a spin off a popular sequel. Mine being a spin off the Star Wars series.

Militaries LOVE to collaborate! In fact, the headlines today, tell us that in fact, this is very big business. Most of the time it’s covert, but once in a while, an army wants to make a bold statement and go public big time with the “We’re working here message!” It’s gone on for centuries. Take a look at the Cuban Missile Crisis, N. Korean parts going to Iran today, or the French teaming up with the Colonists to take on King George.

Collaboration can be a very advantageous affair. The benefits are far reaching and might include getting profitable intelligence for future victories, weapons and personnel that might secure the upper hand, friendship that ensures future partnership, and additional spoils of war that can be divided. The most striking example of this was the Allied States and Russians joining forces to push back the Axis Powers, and their eventual defeat of the threat of Hitler. The TC3 has a similar strategy in this Epic Quest for Freedom- Teaming up with others to get the latest information relevant to our Tour of Duty! Abundant and frequent communications with fellow compatriots such as are found in the Kingdom of DIS are paramount to our future successes of conquering the Planning for the TC3 Trip.

With such connections as these, certainly every campaign, including finding the most reliable and worthy air transport, securing the best MREs for every Rations Drop, acquiring unparalleled enticements offered by the corporate flagship USS WDW, and even discovering the most fashionable soldier fatigues and rucksacks, will be enable us to be triumphant. All this and more can be found within the close ranks of our DIS comrades. Another important benefit is that of companionship and loyalty, like that of a close knit community. One can find a place to laugh, cry, pray, uplift, encourage, and share the joys and struggles of life with DIS Alliances.

Let me now take a moment to share with you some of the “units” that I have particularly enjoyed over the last many months. Some, most of you will be very familiar with, some, may be altogether new to you. Tell them I sent you, and I’m sure they’ll treat you right!

~~For a VERY thorough accounting of his exploits and adventures with a lovely army made up of wife and 3 kids I give you Capell’s Trip. I especially enjoy Mike’s Reports because of his detailed explanations of where they went and what they saw.

~~If you are looking for someone who can write her socks off, look no further than CircusGirl’s TRs!! Heather uses the English language in ways that truly inspire and impress me!

~~For some of the best pictures I always turn to both MRYPPNS or 2xcited2sleep’s TRs. They sure know how to tour with a creative eye! If photography is REALLY your thing, ToddH’s reports will blow you away!!

~~For lots of chatter and good ol’ plain fun, I love to hang out with Glennbo, that’snice, and winker’s places. They are the Officer’s Clubs so to speak.

~~Of course, I would be a very disloyal and unfaithful soldier indeed, if I didn’t mention one of my personal favorites: My very own and closest comrade in arms- MAROO!!! If you want the drama of ever-changing and evolving plans visit her on-going PTR.

~~For intensely poignant and deep thinking on life’s up and downs eandesmom and TarzanKat’s reports will make you misty eyed and inspire you to look at life from a fresh perspective; definitely worth investigating.

~~If you always want a fast-paced, action packed place to come and enjoy some super goofy fun, take a walk on the wild side with Jordanyosh! Zany stuff over there! But be prepared to have a feeling that you never know what’s going on because you missed 6 pages if you’re not there for a few hours.

~~Other honorable mentions are SleepingBooty’s, Shannn’s and Jenbear123’s reports.

~~If training for a Disney marathon is what you’re looking for check out carissanboys or Sandy321.

~~For an all around good read with good pictures and great resource for traveling with kids that have an autism spectrum disorder, KathyRn137 is the perfect read!

~~And for perhaps some of the funniest stuff on the boards, without a doubt, make sure you take the time to read through GreatBiscuit’s TR! It is worth it just to read in your spare time like a good book; it is that good.

~~Some of you enjoy a great resource for dining reviews. For some funny, albeit, “adult-oriented” (these definitely border on the PG13 side of things) write-ups of drinking and dining in the World, make sure to hit up Oy Bolshoi’s stuff on the Dining Reviews Board.

There are many, many more that I regularly gain valuable recon from- all are worthy of an honorable mentions. Thank you to every one of you who have brought me so many hours of pleasure through your insights and perspectives! Thank you for taking the time to post pictures and meal reviews and itineraries and well, everything!

Morning, Sweetie!! Hope you are having a wonderful morning!! :flower3:

Wow - I just arrived here yesterday and already I got a shout out! :cool1: Thanks Liesa! :goodvibes

Many of those are reports that I follow, but I may have to check out some of the others when I get a chance. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the shout out! And I laughed out loud at what you wrote about Jordan's thread...so true (but your's is getting to be that way too ;) )

Yay, I got an honorable mention! Thank you so much. I didn't expect that at all.

I'm going to head over to some of these other TR's you've mentioned for some quality reading. :thumbsup2

You are very welcome!! I, like you, enjoy great writing that uses creative vocabulary and engages all then senses. You should check out CircusGirl's! She hasn't been very active lately, but the reports she does have up are delightful!

Heidi, you're so welcome! Just callin' like I see 'em. :thumbsup2 I never in my wildest dreams ever thought this one would be so long and, at times, unruly!! All in a good way, of course. ;)

I love yours too. There are so many more I've posted on and read, but if I listed them all, I'd certainly have taken up an entire page. So much good stuff out there. :worship:

Liesa I am so impressed at your ability to keep up with the zillions of trip reports and pre trip reports. Do they have like 48 hours in each day over there in Blankastan???I'll have to check out some of your recommendations.

With my absence the past few days, I'm now of course hopelessly lost on your PTR. I'm thinking at this point it's best to just jump back in instead of trying to catch up! I hope I didn't miss any breaking news!

It's my therapy. When I'm am tired of having a day of not understanding 35% of what is said around me, or when I miss a social cue and blow it culturally, or when I've completely HAD it with spit and trash on the sidewalks and no green salads, I come here to see happy people, feast my eyes on the Ceasar salads in TRs, and view beautiful views of my Castle on a Cloud.

Just jump in here!! Lots of drivel, mostly. A few installments from my 2000 trip, another antique Disney find, the last RD clues. That's about it. :)

Just kinda trying to wrap things up here before we start, as of yet still unnamed, Thread #2.

Caught up again, I think I will always have to start every post that way, I said before and I say again!
I really loved your stories, I got a language barrier story for ya, when we lived in Germany, My Mom and Dad had gone to a beerfest, at the stroke of midnight (which then made it my parents wedding anniversary) My mother starts looking around for my Dad and yelling in German (or thought so any way) "where is my husband?" People looked at her like she was nuts, a little old german man yelled out to everybody "Poor woman she does not know WHO her husband is.

Birth stories, I love to hear those, I don't have any great ones to tell, but when I was pregnant with Reese I had gone to a check up and the Dr told me my daughter was coming cannonball, I freaked out, I thought that since I had gone into premature labor with her twice already that she was gearing up to shoot out of me. He just explained though that she was butt first and he scheduled me for a C-section the next morning, she was 1 month early and weighed 8 lbs 5oz. 18 inches. she was so round.

You have got to be the coolest person ever! Related to a Disney artist! I want to be related to a Disney artist!

Funny ones!! Those question words are tough to learn! I always mixed them up at first.

That's huge! 3 of mine were a month early and were only 6!!

It IS fun to have found some neat Disney stuff!

Aw man, I didn't make the list. :sad1: It's okay..I'm not mad!

OH!TG! I feel really bad!! I hope you truly aren't angry!!

I totally forgot a whole category!! Yours and punkin413 should have BOTH been on there for threads with the best games and and trivia posts!! They are so thorough and fun to read through. I really do read ALL of your posts and have learned so much!! You definitely score high points for how much you put into yours- I know cutting and pasting and linking takes a lot of time!!

aw, thanks for the nice shout out!

I feel exactly the same way about TR's and PTR's and have to be really careful not to overextend myself. Which I may be at the moment!

I wanted to share....

I know, she was such a chunker! My son was a week late and weighed 6lbs 15oz, 20 1/2 inches.

I had a healthy pregnancy with her, (minus the premature labor stuff) I only gained about 23 lbs, I think maybe it was the healthy eating. I gave up fast food and candy, drank water all day and milk and juice at meals.

With my son I gained 79 pounds (took almost a year to lose it) but lived on McD's drive thru.

That's all I can figure

Here's Reese at 5 days,

For such a big baby though she is a tiny teenager now.

Aw thanks. It does take a lot of time to do it all! Even thinking of the clues is hard! I hope you'll always be a reader of my PTR's and TR's.

So glad you got your prize! Another is on the way for RD 2. :goodvibes

What a big one- cute and pudgy! Amazing how they all grow up and don't always follow what you think they'll be like as babies. All mine were born with dark hair, but have lightish hair now.

You KNOW I will! Remember once I sign on, it's for real. At least I try. :goodvibes :flower3: I would never miss your TTA photos and food reviews. ;) Tell me about making up clues! I imagine you sit up in bed at night racking your brain like I did.
