Really? The Mudville clue?! I was sure that was about as vague as I could make it!! You're my hero- a real literary guru! :worship: HA!! Really though, it's a great poem- I'll put it on in the AM.

We truly are! I was pleasantly surprised this morning, though. They actually had 4 brand spanking new incubators there- THAT WORKED!

The baby is INCREDIBLY small! My first was born at 33 weeks. This one couldn't have been in the cooker for more than 30. But breathing well, eating well, and heart sounds good. I think she has a good chance. Now we need to pray for this couple. They are locals, not foreigners. They are having a big advertising spree encouraging Stani's to adopt, but fail to mention that it still costs a lot and is rank with bribery and mountains of paperwork.

Well, I was an English major in college so I hope I am a tiny bit of a literary guru - at least enough of one to catch the Mudville reference. In fact, that was the one that gave me the answer right away. The fire I thought I knew about but that was the one I had to google to be sure.

Sending prayers and good thoughts to your friends and the baby!

Hey guys.

No news on the sleep junk. Although I was at the doctor's building all morning long and it must be steel reinforced, because even with 3G coverage, I could not get a signal AT ALL. I don't know how I lived without a cell phone all those years.

The news about Lauren was worse than we could have imagined. Besides telling her she would probably have to have surgery, they also seemed to imply that her disease is not CP (which we have known) but that is a progression of her disease. And he expects more progression and for her to be able to do less. They are now set up to do heart studies, because he believes the disease she does have will cause her heart to deteriorate.

Lisa's stress level is above what anyone can be expected to handle at this point.

And William is no better. :sad2:

Please pray for all of us.

Maroo - I'm so sorry to hear about Lauren & William. That family has been through a lot and just can't catch a break. They are in our t&p.

Maroo... I'm sorry to hear about this. We will be thinking and praying of the family and you too.:grouphug:

Maroo it sounds like you all are on a very low point - :grouphug: Now more than ever, you cling to your faith, you question your faith, and you rely on God to help - when we are at our lowest, its time to start looking for God Sightings, He is there, He is showing Himself - look for Him - as we gather together, as one to lift you all up in prayer, knowing and Believing where 2 or more gather, He is here - and He does hear our prayers!!

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation;Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life;Of whom shall I be afraid?

Good Morning All,

I just made my morning java and am ready to reveal (not that it's going to be surprise for anyone) the latest round of Rations Drop Fun.

However, first I want to add my plea for you all to continue to lift this family. I have met Lauren, and have to say she is a very well-mannered woman, who is eager to do her best in everything she sets her hand to. Although her body does not cooperate, she is cheerful (most of the time) and sweet- a testimony to all of us. It breaks my heart to hear about this downturn in her health!

Now, onto brighter things. The Lord tells us to delight in life, even in the midst of heartache and turmoil. He is with us, and promises to never leave or forsake us!

I personally delight in Disney World. I love almost everything about it; I can do without the guests who leave their trash on tables or who treat the CMs like dirt, though. I've never been to the Crystal Palace, but have seen MANY great reviews about getting onto Main Street early (remember that whole bit about skipping- I'm thinking this will be my best chance at doing just that, without looking like the complete dweeb I really am) to take empty park pictures, and pigging out on yummy things. However, to be really honest, I am NOT a breakfast eater. I'm simply not very hungry until around 10:30 or 11:00. So, I think Disney will be getting the better end of this bargain. Also, as I've said before, character meals just aren't my thing. They are super for families with kids (we did Akershus last time), but not for me. I'm in it for the early entry, and the coffee I don't have to make, well, ok, and for breakfast casserole, which I've heard is fabulously nommy.

So, onto the clues:

1) The Crystal Palace was originally built for The Great Exhibition in London, but was destroyed by a fire in 1936. There is a quite extensive article on Wiki, if you're really interested. It does have quite a long and interesting history, including the remains of it having to be razed in 1941 becauset the British thought it would be a beacon for incoming German aircraft. (You didn't think you'd get away with no war history, did you??!?- This is the TC3 Report, you know.)

2) Mr. Sanders having never been here was the clue that gave it all away. Next time, I'll be more careful. But for those of you who didnt' get it, Mr. Sanders is the name written above Winnie the Pooh's door in the Hundred Acre Wood. Curiously, the books never tell us who Mr. Sanders is. Of couse, Crystal Palace is the breakfast hood of Pooh and gang.

3) The Mudville reference comes from the (long) poem that Casey's Corner is taken from and themed after. It's a delightful poem that you can find here:

CASEY AT BAT

4) If you listen closely to your skipper in Jungle Cruise, they will mention the names of the 2 crocodiles- Ol' Smiley and Ginger. Remember, Ginger Snaps!! :lmao: Of course, they live right around the corner in the Nile River.

5) Lastly, the Crystal Palace sports a huge topiary of Pooh and Gang in the center of the restaurant. I can imagine it's scent, as I see the trip reports with pictures of this spectacle made of thousands of baby roses and other flowers!

So, there you have it. Rations Drop #6. Jordy, I"m afraid you were not correct this time around. Everyone else, you did great! Keep up the good work and Google on... :rotfl2:

Next up... The Next Round!

Actually for me, the fire gave it away.

I couldn't get past Col. Sanders so that one threw me a bit....:rotfl:

Lauren, Lisa, William and Mr. Lisa, and Maroo are in my prayers.

I'm simply not very hungry until around 10:30 or 11:00.

Me either. I prefer to subside on caffiene alone until about 11. Which does make a morning workout rather difficult. That said, I ADORE breakfast foods. I just prefer to eat them closer to what might be considered brunch.

However, I think you have hit on something!

Skipping!

Skipping down main street!

I wanna skip! Enough to get in the park before it opens?

Hmmn.

Maybe!

For all of you who are still playing along, here's your next clue. You get one, but it's a good one. I think you'll enjoy it, but I also think this one may be infinitely harder to guess.

OK, I"m a softy. That was pretty hard, so here's a bonus for you.

Now smarty pantses, where is this one??

First...

Thank you all so much for your kind words and posts. You guys that have my phone number have even called - and I really, really appreciate it.

Today is a new day. The sun still rose. And it was beautiful this morning. :cloud9: One of those where the entire sky - all around - was orange, yellow, pink and purple. It was beautiful. :cloud9:

I have not talked to Lisa today, but I can tell you that last night things seemed to have sorta settled at their house. Lauren is really sick. She has now missed 3 days of school. Lauren normally pushes through school, even if she is sick. She has been known to call her Mom to go get an antibiotic for her and bring it to school so she does not have to miss class. But she just does not have the energy or the will this year - she is still running fever - so she is sick and resting today. This gave us the very rare opportunity to just sit in front of the TV and watch videos last night instead of doing homework (they don't have cable). It was nice to sorta "get away" after a pretty crappy week.

Lisa has given me permission to tell "the DIS people" about William. We are hoping to solicit some prayers from you guys. If you happen to live in MS and know us - please consider this confidential information. I really don't think any of you do...but just in case. ;)

William has been in the hospital. They have come to the conclusion that most of his stomach issues (and some new things - like transient blindness) are all being caused by stress. With the illness in his family, it is understandable for him to have some stress. But the doctors talked to him alone and said that they believe the stress is from school.

Turns out William got threatened on the bus. A serious threat - and we are not even sure everything that was said to him. Earlier in the week, Willam had told his Dad that the bus driver was playing the radio loudly on the bus and playing music with curse words. William's Dad called the bus company. The bus company told the bus driver no more radio (nevermind that it is not even safe!) The bus driver told the students on the bus. And the students on the bus found out it was William. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

So the kids all ganged up on William on the bus. No one was hurt and I don't think they actually laid a hand on William. But they were MAD. William's family lives out in the country where there is a large mix of kids. Kids that are well off and kids that are poor. Some kids are really bad (rich and poor, but you get the picture) (some were in alternative school last year - that type of thing). So all of this happened Friday after school - a week and a half ago. Between a sinus infection, a hospital stay and his doctors just saying that William can't go back until this blindness thing stops - William has not been back in school yet. So Lisa...is pulling out her hair! :scared1: :upsidedow Too much for a Momma!

William was at the doctor's appt yesterday, since he was not at school. So he was present for the doctor saying all of this to Lauren and her Mom. (Lauren's Dad had a trial.) William even asked the doctor if Lauren was going to die. :sad1: He freaked. Which was NOT what he needed.

We are not sure what to make of what the doctor said about Lauren. He didn't have a new diagnosis to offer. I am not surprised to know she is progressing. It is something I have known for a while. I can tell by looking at her - especially if you look at pictures from when I first met them. It is the reason she was granted a wish (most kids with CP don't qualify).

I guess it hit everyone really hard that Lauren may need to have rods put in her neck. This will really affect her whole life. Will she be able to bend over and write? Put on her makeup? What happens when they fix her neck - will the top of her head just do the same thing? Her hands are so crinkled now that we have a hard time stretching them. She can't write as much as she did last year. She gets worn out so easily. She obviously is getting sick more easily. So the questions that enter my mind are...what does her future look like? We have always envisioned her going to college or seminary - getting a job, maybe as a counselor or something she can do by herself with minimal assistance from others. Will she even live that long?

In the short term, we are looking into stretching out her last 2 years of school. Dropping some of her classes this year and adding on a year of high school. She just can't keep this pace. And she is not doing anything "extra"... And now that we don't know what the long term future is...it just seems cruel to have her whole life centered around school. Wake up. Get ready. Go to school. Get home. Do homework. Go to sleep. That is IT. No Facebook. No TV. She is not even getting a regular LIFE!

So...that is on the schedule for today. Check on Lauren's options for school.

Please keep praying for us. I am really doing fine, honestly. Except I am tired (chronically tired) and am hoping to get that fixed soon. But we really covet your prayers for Lauren and her family.

Thank you all! :grouphug:

Maroo,

We are praying for you, Lisa, William and Lauren. I know one person being sick takes a toll on everyone. I cannot begin to imagine what you are all going through. We will send some more prayers your way! :grouphug:

Hugs,

Kristin

WTH is wrong with MS School that BULLIES WIN? :scared1:

That bus driver needs to be removed from that route! For the safety of ALL The kids - and any kid that doesnt like it - and THREATENS a student- OFF THE BUS. PERIOD. END of discussion. That is how it is handled in this school district! You dont mess around - period.
