WTH is wrong with MS School that BULLIES WIN? :scared1:

That bus driver needs to be removed from that route! For the safety of ALL The kids - and any kid that doesnt like it - and THREATENS a student- OFF THE BUS. PERIOD. END of discussion. That is how it is handled in this school district! You dont mess around - period.

I totally agree. There should be ZERO tolerance for any of this nonsense.

In the short term, we are looking into stretching out her last 2 years of school. Dropping some of her classes this year and adding on a year of high school. She just can't keep this pace. And she is not doing anything "extra"... And now that we don't know what the long term future is...it just seems cruel to have her whole life centered around school. Wake up. Get ready. Go to school. Get home. Do homework. Go to sleep. That is IT. No Facebook. No TV. She is not even getting a regular LIFE!

So...that is on the schedule for today. Check on Lauren's options for school.

Please keep praying for us. I am really doing fine, honestly. Except I am tired (chronically tired) and am hoping to get that fixed soon. But we really covet your prayers for Lauren and her family.

Thank you all! :grouphug:
Is it mandatory that Lauren go to school full time? Can she take a few classes a week.. maybe like a college schedule? It sounds like school 24/7 is taking a toll on her. From your previous posts it does seem like Lauren does like school and likes school activities. I really don't want to type this but I will.. If she does have only a short time on this Earth, maybe getting away or less of school will give her the energy to do other things that she loves.

I hope only the best for everyone and am still thinking and praying for you too. :hug:

Maroo-- My prayers are with all of you. My heart breaks for Lisa dealing with all this. As a teacher, I've got to tell you, buses are just awful places. So many terrible things happen on them and we have such little control! I will never let my kids ride the bus if I can help it.

~~~
My guess this time is a little more unsure. I thought of a couple of places that could have those things but I'm going to go with this one:
Tangierine Cafe
Y'all...I am just in tears. You guys are all so very kind.
Lisa has not wanted to tell many people around here about what is going on with William because of the stigma attached to how he is dealing with it all.
So we just have not had the prayer support.
Till today.
William went to school!!!! Just for a few hours. But he actually wanted to go...and he made it for several hours. This is a HUGE step!
He will never ride the bus again...
Maroo,
We are praying for you, Lisa, William and Lauren. I know one person being sick takes a toll on everyone. I cannot begin to imagine what you are all going through. We will send some more prayers your way! :grouphug:
Hugs,
Kristin
Thank you. I told Lisa about your post...and she really appreciates your prayers. She doesn't feel like she is handling this well, but to hear from a Mom with a special needs child and for you to say that...really gave her some needed encouragement today.
Oh!! I know what those are!! they are one of my bestest foods!! but I can't tell...DOH! :headache:
oh WOW maroo!! tell Lauren and her family that they are very much in my prayers!
Thank you. :hug:
To be fair...the school does not really know the whole story yet...There is a bus strike and a lot going on with the buses. Since William has not really told anyone what really happened...they are waiting...
Once he talks...they will all write letters, including his counselor and his physician...and I believe the problem will be addressed. William's Dad. He is connected. ;)
It WILL be addressed.
I put a call in to the resource teacher at her school today and she didn't call me back. Lisa is going to call her tomorrow and tell her to call me. I am sure that makes no sense to the teacher....why she would talk to me and not Lisa...but I will explain the full situation to her and hopefully she will let me sorta do some research for Lisa about what Lauren's options are.
My fear is that the school is required to provide assistance to full time students, but not to part time students. But I don't know that for certain.
I know it is that way with college. She will HAVE to take 12 hours in order to receive any benefits. But we can deal with that by having her take 2 hard classes and 2 easy classes each semester and just stretch it out.
Right now her HS has her taking 6 classes and they are all quite hard.
But hopefully I will know more tomorrow. Lauren is now asking if she can stretch it out...so we will try to do this for her. Frankly...if she fails a class...she will have to stay an extra year. :rolleyes1
Yeah...What happened on my buses even years and years ago was crazy. I can not even imagine how it is now.
William will probably never ride a bus again.
Lisa has an online course that "meets" at the same time she would pick him up from school. So his grandfather is going to pick him up. Which will be great for both of them. A win, win situation.
maroo,
I don't even have words to express....
I will continue praying for the entire family.......
Thank you. We really, really appreciate it!
That is exactly what I told maroo on the phone the other night: NO tolerance for this c.r.a.p!! That bus driver should GO!! for the sake of ALL the kids and their safely and well-being.
In the grand scheme of things, a young person graduatation late, is really not a big deal. My own son will be a 19 1/2 year graduate simply because our life circumstances messed him up. I put him national school for a year and although her learned great Blankastani, he basically lost the entire year academically. You know what? It is so not a big deal. And even in many ways he will be more ready and mature for what university has in store. Also, he did his entire 10th grade year at a community college, and got duel credits for it. It counted towards both HS AND college. He will actually start university with 26 transfer credits.
If Lauren stretches her last couple of years out, she will really be no worse off, and can still get into university. If she goes the Com. Coll. route the actually schedule will be more flexible and lighter, and the campus tutoring centers are free and CAN help her. Just my 2 cents. ;)
On a lighter note. It's looking like you guys are needing more time on this one. I admit it's a harder one, but I'm still going to give you the answer tomorrow, so make your guesses....
First...
Today is a new day. The sun still rose. And it was beautiful this morning. :cloud9: One of those where the entire sky - all around - was orange, yellow, pink and purple. It was beautiful. :cloud9:
This is good! Try to remember that when all else fails. Breathe in the pretty colors, breathe out the bad.
Ok since when and where is a bus driver even allowed to play the radio? That driver should be canned, re-routed, written up, UGH! And in the middle of strike? Probably why he thought he could get away wiht it. I'll tell you in our district and many many they are consolidating routes, canceling busses, he is lucky to have a job and then to "somehow" let the kids find out who complained???? I cannot fathom the district tolerating it.
Poor William!
And oh, Lauren :(
Isn't' she in a bunch of honor's classes? Can that aspect be scaled back to make it a bit easier? Can she homeschool any of it? I have no idea what the support situation would be if she scales back, that's a valid concern. UGH! Poor Lisa!
I really hope you can get some sleep and wonder how much of it is possible apnea and how much is the stress you are carrying?
:hug:
Legally Lisa will probably have to sign something giving the counselor authorization to speak to you, they are VERY strict about that stuff, for example I wouldn't be able to get Kendall and Taylor's school stuff unless both my DH and his ex agreed in writing for me to get copies.
It is good and I understand why but I am sure frustrating in the current situation.
I'm having a hard time with this one.. Can I ask a question? Yes you say.. great! The pictures are not of the same food are they? Thank you in advance. I will have a total guess for you by tomorrow (or is it today?):confused3
Since my arm is now aching from all the heavy-handed twisting, I will now give you your last hint. :lmao:
No, they are not the same food, however they do go together nicely. ;)
Edited to add: Hey looky there! My tick-tocker is working again. Halelujah!!
OK here is my guess... I think I've read in-between the lines. Le Cellier
I hope I am right.. What's the count BY the WAY....who is winning at this game?
Oh yea.This is my 100th post on your PTR thread!!!!!!!!!! :banana:
OK, now I feel really, really bad!! There was nothing "between the lines", but now that I read it, I can totally see where/ how you came up with your answer. :lmao: You can totally have another guess on this one, cuz, I "fully feel" like I led you astray unintentionally.
You get til tom. AM. I am actually tallying scores right now, since Tim asked for them. HA! I think this one is particulary hard; but that's ok, since the last 2 were too easy. ;)
Whew! As long as it is am MY time :) Like late AM....I need to mull this one over!
LOL!
liesa.....I have NO idea...they look good though...
Trust me, they are very, very good; esp. when homemade!
and I believe the problem will be addressed. William's Dad. He is connected. ;)
Thank you. We really, really appreciate it!
Thank goodness, her dad is "in the know"! I'm sure it will be "addressed"!
You are very welcome, for sure. That's what community is for!
The legal things can be taken care of. I would think that if Lisa and Richard have integrity in their dealings with all involved it will be best for everyone.
:dance3: There, I now declare you one of the "Elite of the Centennial"- a very distinguished honor only bestowed to the hanger-on-ers. And I'm not talking about the things on the back of a long-haired dog.
I'm still thinking....as I have several ideas....when is it 48 hours?
:confused3
You have about 20 hours left!!!! HA!! I've really got you all stumped this time!
I just wanted to pop in and say I finally got to add to my trip report from last December. The thread had been idle too long, so it was locked. I started a new one, here:
Christmas in July, August, September, October and November
I'm soooo, glad you came and found me!! THANKS! Bummer that they nixed your first one!! What a drag to have to start over. I've missed your photos and incredible descriptions and heartfelt writing over the last weeks. Going now!! BTW, want to make a guess on this Ration Drop??
I'm enjoying your PTR all the way!
NOW, the scores have been requested. I was getting so confused, and discombobulated that I actually made an Excel spreadsheet to tally up guesses!! Yeah, goober. But, I swear, (Cherie, this is for you!) As God as my witness, I'll never scroll back through 20 pages of PTR again!!!
These are not inclusive of Rations Drop #7 (the current one)
That'snice- 2 1/2
Shannn- 3
eandesmom-4
SleepingBooty- 2
JPFamilyMom-2
maroo-2
Sandy-3
Tinkgurl-3
Jordan- 3 1/2
So, it would appear that Cynthia and Pollito916 have an edge so far, but that could change in a heartbeat, as several got half points cuz, well, I'm just nice. :goodvibes
Pollito916- 4
Bekka- 2
Jenb1023- 3
If you have a dispute, you can let me know with references to the post # that would act as legal Exhibits.
So when Epcot Future World Opens - call one of the numbers - and someone will answer!! Its hysterical!!
Even better if you could get one of your kids to unknowingly pick up the phone as you are calling it - :rolleyes1 Not that we mess with their heads... :rolleyes1
Maroo - I so thought I posted! I hope you know I have been thinking about everyone and praying for you. When I read you post, I was ready to hop a flight to MS and kick some butt.
Rations Drop #7 - I have no idea! I have been trying to figure it out but no luck. I am going to take a wild guess and say Cape May
We actually were suggesting she stretch it out earlier this year. But she would have nothing of it. She wanted to graduate with the rest of her class.
So far the teacher we are trying to get in touch with has not called us back yet.
And the bus driver...really even more the offending students...will eventually have their day of reckoning.
She will probably do Community College that first year and then possibley move over to MS State. Depends on housing. They have special disability housing to a very few students and when one of those apartments come open, she will probably jump on it.
This is good! Try to remember that when all else fails. Breathe in the pretty colors, breathe out the bad.
It is good and I understand why but I am sure frustrating in the current situation.
Turns out their county buses settled their part of the strike. Now the other county is on strike. Between the stupid flu (my new name for the swine flu) and the bus strike, they say attendance is down a BUNCH at many of the schools.
But we will get that addressed...as soon as they can get William to tell an adult what even happened.
I am holding on for her resource teacher to call me back...I figure pulling her from her honors classes is an option. It is just so late in the school year. She has already had one 9 weeks. It is possible...if we can get her through this semester...that we could just move classes around for next semester, when her schedule has to change anyway.
Her very hardest class is over this semester anyway.
The registrar can also "hand pick" her teachers. They have been handpicking the "college prep" teachers. (This is all hush hush, by the way - the "computer" of course picks these classes....it is just a coincidence that all of the college prep, National Merit probable kids get the advanced teachers.... yeah....right. :rolleyes1) So...for next semester, they could choose different teachers, too...when they swap her schedule. Unfortunately, all of her friends are in the college prep classes. The school is huge and she would just not see her friends if she was on the other "track"...I am sure this all makes no sense.
I can remember taking several very hard classes that I did not want to take, just to make sure that my "track" stayed with my friends. I knew if I took Cal II, I would end up in the one class with all of my friends - since it was only offered one period per day - and that helped us get all of our other classes together, too.
And then there is the thought to extend an extra year. But I don't even know if that is possible?
I am already listed on Lauren's records with the "right" to pick her up from school, check her out of school, come take care of any medical need at school and I am listed on her IEP - and I come to all of the IEP meetings (that normally it is just the parents) - so I think that they would talk to me.
Thank goodness, her dad is "in the know"! I'm sure it will be "addressed"!
You are very welcome, for sure. That's what community is for!
Yes - they definitely try to be careful.
Richard accidently wrote an email to the principal of William's school last year (for a completely different issue) from his WORK email. It really was an accident. He just had his work email pulled up and typed a quick note to her. It really was not even a big deal...just an update on something they had already discussed.
The very next day no less than 3 high level people called Lisa. Lisa could not figure out why everyone was making such a big deal about a little issue. Especially when she could not get anyone to even address it the week before.
I said - maybe they know where he works... And she just gasped! Oh no!!! He wrote that email from his work address. :rotfl2: Whoops. :scared1:
Maroo - I so thought I posted! I hope you know I have been thinking about everyone and praying for you. When I read you post, I was ready to hop a flight to MS and kick some butt.
It is all good!
I have done that before...I think that the DIS even loses a few posts every now and then. Or maybe I shut down before it actually "posts"...sometimes it takes a minute to stop "thinking" and post.
There are several threads that I knew I updated or knew I posted and it evaporated into thin air!
