I've actually jumped on here a quite a few times to see if I was right... RATS!!! :sad2:I'm a loser.:sad1: I should have known better. I feel like I messed this up BIG time... POR fits you guys to a 'T'. :guilty:I guess I can take solace knowing that there is only a 40% chance of you guys 'actually' staying there. Now I have to bring Juliana to get a hair cut and be mad at myself for the rest of the day! I'll check back later.:upsidedow

NO, read the next post. I've been having problems with the net tonight, and in my original, very much lost, much longer post, much more dramatic and well written announcement (I am pissed it's gone, can you tell?) I had mentioned that out of the goodness of my little ol' heart, you should get a prize too for putting your very heart and soul into our game. In fact, I think that if you bring Mel and Juliana I'll be buying you all Mickey bars!!!

Who will be sleeping in the trundle bed? Or will you be drawing straws every night for it???? :lmao:

Don't those only come in the alligator section?? I think we'll go with the roll away.:rotfl:

Aw man! I lost.

Sounds like you're gonna have a blast!

There are no losers here, tinkgurl!!! Not, ever! If you make it next year, you'll be enjoying a Dole Whip right alongside of me!! That's a promise! :thumbsup2

The queen bed issue? NOT! We had always planned on getting a roll away; maroo and I get to fight over that.

The one downside, which is maybe pretty sizable, is that Mary is a Suthin' gal and lives in the swamp. OK, not really, but darn close to it. I don't think she's too excited about this resort. And from her past behavior, we all have yet to see what pans out in the end. But for now, this is what we're going with.

This Suthin' chick has the swine flu!

Seriously.

I feel like...... words that can't be used on the DIS. :sad2:

I am actually ok with POR. And part of me wants to upgrade...but other part of me thinks...

We won't really be in the room that much anyway.

And there are several things I would like to do on this trip....most we have not really talked about. But it would be cool to add some extra stuff, since the park hours are so short during September...

So, I am totally cool with POR!

But...it has occurred to me that I may have reserved the wrong dates??? I gotta go check on that.

The TC3 has chosen PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE FOR SEPT. 5-14, 2010!!!!

Tim, I know you're watching for this, STOP! I'm continuing in the next post!!

These.....aren't the right dates?

Right? Is it the cold medicine???

NO!! It's me who just got them el-wrongo!! Going to change now. I'm blaming it on my brain sucking arm flab.

I'm on the top of the world, looking down on creation, it's the only explanation I can find....:rolleyes1

JPFamilyMom, Jenb, you two need to play a joke on Mom and actually go get the dolewhip! (she did say if you are there that she would buy!) ;)

:cool1:

I didnt actually commit to a guess!! :sad2: I thought POR - (I posted pictures!) but I figure if you can get a deal Poly will be it!! :wizard:

The Mansion section is further away from the food court than the Bayou - the Bayou has the trundle beds - the pictues I posted was from our stay at a Mansion - I liked the mansion section!! I have no idea where you are going to put a rollaway bed tho!!

It is a bit far to walk over to POFQ for the beniets!! I know I got fed up with the standing room busses that we walked over to POFQ (the first stop in the bus run) well that wasnt worth it - its a lot longer then it looked in the pictures!! :rotfl2:

Maroo feel better! prayers

Way back in Dec. when this hair brained idea (oh, wait, I forgot, I have no brain left) was birthed, our 3rd soldier was not maroo. She was a good friend of mine named Julie who has since backed out, but before she had to do that had made it through the process of choosing where to go. I, being the only one at that time who had been to WDW presented each of the exact same resorts I showed you, in the same order mind you, to LeeAnn and Julie. Each of us gave our opinions as to why we liked each one and why not. After MUCH debate and deliberation we collectively decided on POR. By the time maroo signed on this resort had really grown on us.pans out in the end. But for now, this is what we're going with.
I can't remember if this info was known at the beginning of this PTR????? HUMMMM:rolleyes1

This is the reason why Maroo will be working some magic and getting those upgrades! Who knows with her skillz.. You might be staying at the Poly and getting paid to do it! LOL:lmao:

Now your arm flab is sucking out your brain??

:lmao:

I'm not touching this one! :rotfl::rotfl2:

By golly, you sho nuff did!!! I decla-uh you the 3rd winner (done in my best Scarlett O'Hara voice over, which stinks like the sewer leaking into my brand new water pipes they are laying outside my house)!!

Beignets?? Divine, I tell you! I made some about a year ago, but not since. They aren't so hard, and so worth it! I wonder if we'll hop off the boat for a few while we're there??

As of now, we're going with the mansions. You know more elegant, and all that. So, you think the room is too small for a roll away?? Hmmm... well, I don't mind sharing- I"m sure I'll be so tired from our forays into yonder places that I won't even notice a second person nearby. :snooty:

1. No, I'm afraid it wasn't! Too bad, so sad, my man. J/K! But, we couldn't spill all the beans in one burrito, right.

2. Yeah, I figure she's already started, and isn't fessing up. As long as it isn't anywhere over in the Contemp Area. That just plain old looks like downtown LA to me. Sorry Zzub! It just ain't me.

3. Good man!

Congrats to the winners!

Well, I think everyone's a winner if you're staying at POR! :thumbsup2

Now the only question is ... Mansions or the Bayou??

Kathy

:cheer2::cheer2:For me, wow I can't believe I guessed right, well I mean I can, cause I was thinking which of those I would want to stay in being a female and away from my children with two other adult females. That is the one to be at when you don't want to spend all your money on a resort ;):woohoo::woohoo:

So about that Dole Whip :rolleyes1 :lmao: I think that will be too soon for me to return after being there in June, does that fall into free dining for ya'll?

Biegnets - spellun is not so goog! You may want to go to the restaruant (spellun 'gain) board and search for some pics!!

but I think the least y'all can do is twitpic a DoleWhip!! ;)

Hope you get water soon!! (the sewer is leaking in the water?? :scared1: Yikes! )
:thumbsup2 I'm all about the Mansions!! I'll have to search for a couple more pictures!! Definately take that boat trip - hope you have some :wizard: with timing of them busses!! :wizard:

Love the Mansions - I did post a pic or two of the room!! there is some space between the door and the first bed - you never know until you ask!! I know there have been posts on people bringing the blow up twin air mattresses (I think the air mattresses are quite comfy! The one from Walmart has a nice sack it comes in! Probably a lot cheaper than a roll away - and maybe more comfy!)

and the mansions have a fridge!! :thumbsup2

Awww, you're so sweet! I know I feel like a winner- which is so much better than a whiner, which is what origianally typed. Is there such a thing as a Freudian finger slip on the keyboard?

We're going with the mansions. They look so elegant and plush. I know they are a little further away (at least most) from the action, but that's okay, that'll be more quiet.

:cheer2::cheer2:For me, wow I can't believe I guessed right, well I mean I can, cause I was thinking which of those I would want to stay in being a female and away from my children with two other adult females. I"m sorry!! Really, I am. I think it would been a lot of fun meeting and hanging out with you; I mean what are the chances of meeting someone who actually lived in Hemet and has gone to MSJCC? Keep thinking on it.

Yes, as a matter of fact, maroo did book FD for us. That did help on the cost for sure. Which means I have more to spend on other more fun things like, boy I don't even know... I'll have to think of some really girlie, treat myself things to do/get. Of course, I have a couple ideas already, but more on those later...

I've see the pix of the beignets, and they do look heavenly. Maybe if the manna had looked that good, the Israelites wouldn't have complained- then again, they probably would have, just like me. ;)

I'm sure maroo can arrange a twitpic of a Dole whip for you.

Amen, on the water. It did come on , but they are still digging in the street, so I don't hold out much hope that it will be on for good today.

yeah, I hope that we do have good luck with the busses- esp. since maroo decided to FLY!!! You did all see that right??!!!

Yeah...FREE DINING people! That is important to note!!

Oh yeah! If you order a Dole Whip and you guys want a picture, I can send one lickity split! Although, it does change trip reporting, some....if that makes sense. It feels like you already reported when you tell the world about your trip as you go...I like it...but am trying to decide how it will affect my TR that I write on the DIS......(you guys don't need to know all of that, now, do you?)

Flying - YES! I am excited about that!

But I am not ruling out renting a car. In fact...I would imagine at some point that I am going to need to go to Give Kids the World to meet a wish family or something (I just have to go there at some point on my trip, right!) and that trip is definitely easier with a car.

But I would not rent a car every day...probably just on the days that we have stuff to do that would be much easier with a car. Going from Resort to Resort is not as easy on the bus system.

Yeah, I can't believe I left that part out. But coming up in the future there will be a lot more talk on this subject, I'm sure.

I had thought of that too. Do you really want everyone knowing what you did already before you even get back?? I love surprises!

As you should be!! Home in just a few short hours- and none of this driving forever and ever!

Me neither, but that decision will have to wait.

Who's to say what is going to be happening with the economy next year but I've been watching the prices on rentals. I'm still waiting to pull the trigger on ours but I've seen full size weekly rates from Alamo around $160. Thats not too bad. Even if you had the car for a couple days, that shouldn't break the bank.;) I used priceline in March and had our rental for 9 days for around $170ish... pretty good(i think:confused3)

I think it's something we should seriously consider given that being at rope drop is fairly important to all of us. We also have some plans that do include hopping from resort to resort, and that, like maroo has said, can be a big pain in the patootie.

We'll have to see what prices do, and if other things become more enticing than speedy wheels.
