Some of you are really itching to know what we are going to attempt to eat during our trip. Here's the first of a series of sneak peeks of the snacks
I'm dying to have. My motto (on some things) in life is "Why Wait?" So I am going to make a few now and share the yummy goodness with you. Please wipe your screens before and after for good hygiene.
At the very top of the list is frozen bananas. It is my favorite snack of all time for many reasons. The first of which is that it is one of my oldest memories of when I would go as a young child. I'm all over the nostalgia thing and really wish to Heavens they'd finish the Legendary Years of POP. Alas, it will most likely NEVER happen. Anyway, as GB puts it, I digress.
Besides bringing back memories of trips with Grandma and my family, they just plain old taste simply yummy on a hot day.
So, you start with this: (sorry, my pic turned out craptastic, but you get the idea)

Here's how:
Take a big bar or 2 of chocolate. Use good quality. I chose dark, cuz it's the best!!
Keep your chopped nuts handy.
Peel, and cut the bananas in half. Stick a long skewer through them, and partially freeze them.
Over a double boiler, or over the lowest flame you can make, melt your chocolate. I use a double boiler, because burnt choco tastes vile.
Coat the bananas evenly, making sure that whenever no one is looking to lick your fingers copiously. Roll in nuts and stick back in freezer until frozen hard.
Enjoy! and count it as one fruit/veggie for the day.
