All caught up.I am glad you had a great dis meet. I love your Constitutionand allthe following cnversation. It had me laughing so hard the girls I nanny were asking me what was wrong. :lmao:

This is Lauren...Not Maroo....

Well, to start off with, I just want to clear my name and say that I do eat vegetables!! Mary and I shared that plate that those veggies were on!

I am accustomed to real vegetables from a garden in the ground. My Grandmother (who is doing much better, by the way) makes really good vegetables, unlike the fake kind and Rainforest Cafe.

*** End of message from Lauren.

Now it looks like I am talking to myself! Or worse laughing at myself! But I had to just laugh at Lauren!

I read her the Constitution and told her story behind the veggies and then blamed the whole thing on HER! She was with me when we did not eat our veggies! :snooty:

anyway...I am totally cracking up at Lauren and her defensive veggie eating!

Hey everyone.....

I got a PM from Liesa about my comment.

I was only joking around..... but after coming back and re-reading it I can see how there wasn't much of a 'funny' tone on my part. I should of put a ;) smiley or something else in my comment.

Please understand I was only kidding and was not offended in any manner.

OK back to the Constitution and the Amendments.

(please keep Article IV unchanged and intact!):rotfl:

Well, quite frankly, Maroo, I'm shocked that you're willing to give in so quickly! We can win this, I know we can.

I just feel that it's my duty as your lobbyist to have more information. How can I determine whether or not my client (Maroo) can eat that many vegetables today when in fact, I have no idea where in the parks you'll be eating.

DISH, WOMAN!!!! :rotfl2:

Glad you're laughing right along with us! Don't break anything when you fall off your chair, someone might call TK to "litigate" for you! She calls ME the Enabler! :lmao:

Your name is cleared dearie! I am used to fresh veggies too, in fact, we just ate our first eggplants and kolrhabi out of the garden yesterday! YUM!

You should be setting the example, right?? Except it would be bad manners to barf on one's plate in a restaurant, so we'll let it go this time.

I'm so glad!! I did lose a little sleep last night not knowing if you were joking or not.

GB, wrote back too, and he says he can dish it out pretty well too! So all's good, in my world again!

I agree, but I did make some concessions I'm comfortable with. I made frozen bananas yesterday. (post on that coming!) and maroo says she likes those. I think we should let her count one of those. You see, that was the one snack Grandma and I would always get together, so we will HAVE to have one in her honor!!

Well, quite frankly, Maroo, I'm shocked that you're willing to give in so quickly! We can win this, I know we can.

Trust me, we're going to be eating at LOTS of great places- provided we can get any of our ADR's- which after reading yours and many other PTR's, I am very nervous about.

Can I say that I don't think Casey's (top of both of our lists) does NOT have veggies of any kind. Oh wait, they have onions, but I ain't ridin' nuthin' with her if she eats enough of those to count!! :rotfl2: And imagine what would happen with Ammendment 1???????!!!!!!!! :lmao:

This is Bekka, not Mom...

Hey, it's always good to laugh at your self, as long as you are the first to start laughing. Otherwise, it can put you in a bad mood if your pride gets hurt. Always be the first to laugh at your self! (However, I don't care who laughs at me when I'm at WDW :goodvibes)

Some of you are really itching to know what we are going to attempt to eat during our trip. Here's the first of a series of sneak peeks of the snacks I'm dying to have. My motto (on some things) in life is "Why Wait?" So I am going to make a few now and share the yummy goodness with you. Please wipe your screens before and after for good hygiene.

At the very top of the list is frozen bananas. It is my favorite snack of all time for many reasons. The first of which is that it is one of my oldest memories of when I would go as a young child. I'm all over the nostalgia thing and really wish to Heavens they'd finish the Legendary Years of POP. Alas, it will most likely NEVER happen. Anyway, as GB puts it, I digress.

Besides bringing back memories of trips with Grandma and my family, they just plain old taste simply yummy on a hot day.

So, you start with this: (sorry, my pic turned out craptastic, but you get the idea)

Here's how:

Take a big bar or 2 of chocolate. Use good quality. I chose dark, cuz it's the best!!

Keep your chopped nuts handy.

Peel, and cut the bananas in half. Stick a long skewer through them, and partially freeze them.

Over a double boiler, or over the lowest flame you can make, melt your chocolate. I use a double boiler, because burnt choco tastes vile.

Coat the bananas evenly, making sure that whenever no one is looking to lick your fingers copiously. Roll in nuts and stick back in freezer until frozen hard.

Enjoy! and count it as one fruit/veggie for the day.

As a bonus, I've added a photo of a nice VEGGIE dish that we ate last night just before devouring the bananas. As far as I know, you can't get it at WDW, but maybe someone else knows better than I. Doesn't matter anyway, cuz, maroo won't order it.

BONUS!!! The Gazpacho That Started It All!!!
This is called gazpacho- a "soup" made of finely chopped veggies like cucumber, tomato, celery, green pepper, and good stuff like that, flavored with lemon juice, cayenne, Worcestershire, salt and all that, then chilled! It's super great with good bread dipped in olive oil and balsalmic vinegar.

I figured you were kidding! :) But I think Liesa was really worried that she had upset you and sent you running away from the DIS. :scared1:

I am glad you are back with us!!! :)

And :ssst: about Article IV....it should be changed, I tell you, changed!!

??!?! Did I give in?!? I thought she accepted the amendment? Do I need to get out there and lobby some more?

I am in a bad mood already this morning! But I was laughing at myself yesterday, right? :rotfl: I am about ready to sling up a few insurance companies! grr

Now THAT is what I am talking about!

Although I hear that a large banana actually counts as two fruits? Is that true?? Any WW people out there?

This is very true. There is NO way I would order that. :sad2:

If that is what it took to get me off the DIS... I'd be gone a long time ago!!!!

That looks really good. I'd skip the nuts and crush up some M&M's to stick onto the chocolate!!!! :goodvibes

This sounds interesting but for some odd reason, I can't see Maroo coming within 10 feet of that!! LOLOL:lmao:

If that is what it took to get me off the DIS... I'd be gone a long time ago!!!!

Now isn't that the truth! You would be in that group of people that says, "I don't hang out on the DIS, all of those people are mean." :confused3 Whatever?!?! I have met some of the nicest people on these boards and made great friends.

You just gotta have some skin and know that 95% of communication is facial expression and tone of voice...so if you can only see typing, it is hard to be able to really know what the person is saying. :thumbsup2

And you have to really ignore the trolls. :headache:

I was sure you weren't really mad, because I "know" you on here, but Liesa is just now getting to know some of you guys. She really was worried - bless her heart!

Now she will know she can kid around with you and you will just kid right back! :rotfl:

Hmm....rolled in M&Ms...and still count as a fruit (maybe 2?)...THAT is my kinda snack! :rotfl2:

And you are correct. That veggie drink looks like a V8. Yuck.

Oh Pu-leeeeze, People! It counts as one. I cut them in half for heavens sake. Here's another one:

These get made well, not very frequently, but more like sometimes at our house; they aren't hard, but do take time. And no you don't need one of those "crepe maker thingys"-- a normal frying pan works fine. We especially enjoy them with sour cream inside, but the ones in France come with chocolate sauce on them OR strawberry preserves. I suppose maroo will think she can get away with calling THAT a fruit too. I'd say not, but whatever...

And, in case they look like something you can't live without either on your next trip, here is where you can find them:

http://allears.net/menu/menu_crp.htm

This menu says you can also get French beer here. So, for those of you who can't deal with chocolate, then by all means pick up a beer instead. By the way, I've heard that beer is actually VERY nutrutious. Maybe we can all count that as our daily allotment of good food too. (Too bad both maroo and I don't like the taste of beer!)

You are right it does count as 2 points.

Steal away!!!!

Sure, I don't see why it shouldn't be. :rotfl:

so, who's side are you on, anyway??! :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

y'all are so funny!

I'm so glad your not one of the lurkers who has put us up to almost 5,000!!! It's more fun if people join in and say howdy

Okay, I get it, you're all on her side! No way, I'm sticking to nuts, they taste great, and they're good for you. I need a little salt with my sweet. Now, give me a good latte to go with, and WOWSIE! That's what I'm talking about!

I was sure you weren't really mad, because I "know" you on here, but Liesa is just now getting to know some of you guys. She really was worried - bless her heart!

Okay, I'll keep kidding around, but I'll make sure to use the appropriate smilies, but I'm hanging onto this veggie thing like a pitbull with a bone!

Actually, I'm surprised no one commented on the hot tub thing. I'll make you a V8 popsicle and you can enjoy it while soaking. MMMmmmm! ;)

so, who's side are you on, anyway??! :lmao:

The right side, of course! :rotfl:

I'm so glad your not one of the lurkers who has put us up to almost 5,000!!! It's more fun if people join in and say howdy

I think I count for AT LEAST 50 of those "views"... Since I click on here almost every day...sometimes twice a day. So we may not have that many lurkers.

Having said that....

Lurkers, Lurkers, come out wherever you are!

Okay, I get it, you're all on her side! No way, I'm sticking to nuts, they taste great, and they're good for you. I need a little salt with my sweet. Now, give me a good latte to go with, and WOWSIE! That's what I'm talking about!

Now, I am a fan of salty and sweet. One of my favorite park snacks is something I make and bring with me so that I don't spend quite as much money in the parks. It is a mixture of peanuts and candy corn. Salty and sweet and not terribly fattening. And I can just nibble on it in lines or whenever I get a little hungry.

Okay, I'll keep kidding around, but I'll make sure to use the appropriate smilies, but I'm hanging onto this veggie thing like a pitbull with a bone!

Hmph. :snooty:

Actually, I'm surprised no one commented on the hot tub thing. I'll make you a V8 popsicle and you can enjoy it while soaking. MMMmmmm! ;)

No way. No V8. Yuck.

Speaking of HOT TUBS!!! Oh my gosh. I laughed so hard yesterday.

Here is the story...I went swimming with Lauren, Lisa and William late yesterday at our friends house and the pool has a hot tub attached to it. Now, for those of you just tuning in, I like to soak in the hot tub.

*Rewind to October 2008!
I went to soak in the hot tub at the Contemporary on our October trip (my feet hurt and I was irritated and tired, but that is a whole different trip report) - well, they had to...uh...close the hot tub. We will just leave it at that. But it involved draining the whole thing. After I spent only 5 minutes in it and was a witness to the, uh, incident. :scared1:

* Fast forward to 3 weeks ago...
Then on my last trip to Nashville, I tried again to soak in the hot tub and was foiled again by...an incident...that closed the whole pool area. :upsidedow

*And now back to yesterday!
So yesterday, I was dead set on getting in this hot tub and soaking my feet!! So, they went inside to turn on the heat and came back outside...everyone was standing around and I was the only one in the hot tub...when someone noticed that the water level was going down at a rapid rate.

The hot tub was DRAINING itself. No one had any idea why? Did I push a button? No idea.

But there I was, with a pouty look on my face...sitting in the hot tub as all of the water drained out of it. (It actually went into the attached pool? :confused3) There ARE pictures of this crazy deal. Complete with my pouty face.

But they would require some serious...cropping (thank you very much TK!)...before they would see the light of the DISboards. But maybe later. Maybe.

I actually like veggies but she did ask if a banana was 2 points so I was just answering her question.;)

:rotfl: I am now hungry for a banana! Maybe we have one in our kitchen at work. :thumbsup2

The first two snacks have looked a little too healthy - they both have fruit. I was going to suggest a dole whip but that has fruit too. Maroo - is it you that doesn't like Dole Whips? Oohh - here's a snack with no known nutritional value - zerba domes.

I just have to chime in that gazpacho is a soup (not a veggie drink like V8) and is not as bad as it looks. Maroo I would think it would count as at least two veggies and is probably very low in points. I am guessing you still won't be coming within 10 feet of it though.

I am definitely guilty of many of the views of this thread. I click on it every time there are a few posts so usually at least once a day and sometimes more if you guys are being chatty.

Okay. . .enough of my stream of conciousness ramblings for today. I've got work piling up on my desk.
