I'm thinking the last Thurs in Sept thru the first weekend in November :confused3

I would love to go back! I've read all the F&W reports - and kept up with the thread on the restaurant board!! but in the end - its just cheaper to do something here!! :rotfl2:

I think I'm in Disney withdrawal!

Then the crazy could get even a little crazier! :dance3:

Maybe I should strategically plan our FW time in the order of least likely to make one barf to most. Ending it all with a good dose of napping on the floor of Ellen's ride. :scared1: EWWWW!

PLEASE do yourself on the 24 and make him bring all of the seasons back...at least through Season 4. Those were the best! Even the end of the season has a cliffhanger!

I will be willing to provide Zofran to all of the TC3 soldiers! I consider it necessary equipment for our journey!

F & W start later in September. It was almost a full three weeks after I got home from last Labor Day week trip. :)

I will be glad to help you get off SSE in the event of a breakdown! :scared1: I may have to call the Fire Department! I think they actually do have to call the Fire Department if someone with a disability gets stuck up there.

Of course, Lauren would LOVE to have to be rescued by a cute fireman! :firefight

She got rescued by a life guard once and was both mortified and ready to do it again! "He was SOOOO cute!" But that is a whole 'nother story!

I just told our area leaders, who are coming on the 18th (therefore won't be DISsing that day) to bring Monk and Numbers. I've only seen a few episodes, but Monk CRACKS. ME. UP!!

Put that on the list- by the way, there will be a whole series (you get the whole "series" gig, right?) on "A Soldier's Stuff".

That stinks. I was thinking though, I may have to visit Cynthia one of these days and make sure it's on a Gourmet Club night... :rolleyes1

Cute firemen?? Long walk down?? I'm not sure DH would approve, but I'm sure Lauren had some great dreams for many a night after that!

You bet, I can make it be F&W right here!
Just swing on by!

Really, really?! I would LOVE that!!! You know, Seattle isn't too far away from Portland, and I do have TONS of fam. in Oly. :yay:

I love your list Maroo! I love the Figment ride! It has a wierd song, cute though. Immaagiiiinaaationnnn :rolleyes1 Crush is competely and totally the sweetest thing in FW!! and MS spinny side isn't that bad. DB10 handled it fine.

I'll have to agree, the little Figment tune is quite the catchy tune. That CD I bought is the single most best purchase I made on our whole trip! I love it!

The Sherman Brothers wrote the fabulous original for Dreamfinder and Figment. I am still beside myself about the vandalization of the cool original ride that first took out Figment, then put him back into a much less cool ride. I still ride every time, out of loyalty to the little purple fellow, but worry that the ride is now so lame that they'll do away with it entirely.

I never had the opportunity to see the original version, so really can't compare, but have heard from so many that it was the FAR, far superior of the current offering. Sad that they are getting rid of so many of the "classics" (the new Tiki Room is a sad excuse of an attempt in my opinion), and now I won't even have a chance to see Kaleo at all (still bummed at that one!)

:sad2:

Maroo, Sorry, I have to ask you to go get more Diet Coke now. Just get up, go to the fridge and grab a cold one- you can't be here right now...

Love you but... ;)

OK, now that she's gone, I wanted to show you a few more of the gifty things I have made up for my touring comrades! Things are really coming together for this project I have going, but a bunch of stuff I can't get yet- well, really not until just before leaving.

Here is the first of the little coasters that I've gotten done. Other than Mickey looking slightly like he's on crack (ie. the zigzag stitching that makes him look "fuzzy") I think they turned out pretty good. Next time, I'll use a blanket stitch around it, which may make him look like a Mickey pincushion. :confused3

The gift tags I made are done with an artform called "quilling". It originated during the Middle Ages, and was primarily used to decorate pages of Scripture done by the nuns and monks in monasteries. It is not nearly as difficult as it looks, and over the years, I've done lots of fun projects with these narrow strips of paper. I"ve done up one for each of my compatriots:

The next thing I made for each of them is a little book that they can use for ANYTHING their big hearts desire: autograph books, trip journaling, phone books at home, photo album, whatever...

Here is maroo's:

I tried to keep all of our books (I made one for me too ;)) in the same color scheme and with my (very) limited supply of good scrapbooking paper, I tried to use designs that captured the adult essence of our trip. I may (this is still very much a MAAAAAAAAY) throw in a Mickey sillouette on the inside cover, but I'm tending to think I'd rather keep this usable for any occassion.

Here is maroo's gift tag on her opened book. I majorly screwed up the binding holes, but it isn't too noticeable, thank goodness!

I think I had gone so long without using my Zutter Binder than I'd forgotten how to line up the punch. I'll do better when I bind up LeeAnn's.

So, here is a group shot of the goodies done up so far, sans the coaster. I still need to do LeeAnn's LGMH, and will put the orange stitching around both, along with the purple ribbon that eandesmom sent over. So still some work to be done there.

Other ideas I have to fill in these fun little baskets are:

Little chocolate bars with the Blank-a-Stan flag as the wrapper design
Bath salts or something like that.
Some nice coffee or tea
Some beaded earrings or a necklace that Bekka is already working on
Beaded pens to tie onto the books

So, my plans for that are coming together, and I"m having more than a ton of fun planned for them. I think I"ll put my mom onto the task of finding some cute baskets or other appropriate kind of container. I'm thinking dollar store?? Even the Goodwill has some great baskets for an excellent price.

Let me hear some of your ideas for something fun to throw in. The idea here is not to get expensive. Everything you see I already had, was done from left over scraps, was well, practically FREE- which is a very good price!

SOOO, where are they? :goodvibes

Oh, I see! I wrote this before you fixed your mistake. Sorry

Everything is sooooo cute! I love it! I'll try to think of other ideas for you, but I'm not awake enough yet, lol. The only thing I can think of that might be cute is a beaded Mickey head pin, you could do black or lime and you could do them the easy way (string the seed beads, then form the design and glue it as you go) or the hard way..lol (use peyote stitch). If I think of anything else good you could do with the materials you have at hand, I'll pm you :)

Do you bead? Mom doesn't, but I do! :)

Morning Bekka..well..morning for me, prolly not for you ? (Not good with time zones here). Anyway..yes, I used to bead tons, now more when I need to make a nice gift or something like that. I have tried doing peyote stitch, but honestly I am not a patient person and got waaaay frustrated. So I have about a one inch sample that took me days to make! (LOL..okay, maybe not days..but way longer than it should have taken).
