What is the current feeling about faxing room requests? I have floated this question before...wondering what recent experiences you have had. I did fax request on my my last two visits. We got what we asked for (although we didn't ask for too much...went ahead and paid for the savannah upgrade at AKL).

Would you fax?

What would you ask for?

Pewing

What type room do you have booked?(Standard, Woodsview, or Courtyard) What day and apx time will you check-in? What did you request at time of your reservations ? (non-smokings, bunk beds?) I need to know so I might help.:earsboy:

I booked through DU...standard room. I don't remember if she asked for 'non-smoking bunks' then or not...I will email and ask.

We are checking in on 2/8 and out on 2/12. We are flying into MCO on the 7th...and staying by the airport. The 'plan' is to be at WL by 8:30! We can drop off our luggage and head to the park...if it's not good to check in that early (or possible!)

OK, let me know I check here often....Opps just got the rest of your message..yes checking-in early is best...

Im still doing catch up with all my reading. I was out of town and working. I just saw your post on the memory box thread. Thanks so much for your reply.

I felt that the postcard should be left for everyone to see as well.

Pewing: I made my requests when I made my initial reservation, but I also faxed my requests 3 days prior to my arrival. I got everything I requested, which was Woods view, over looking the otter pond and a view of the castle & fireworks, non smoking, 5th floor. I absolutely loved my balcony. I checked in around 11:30AM and my room was ready! (Oct 25). I hope you get everything you want. Like Ive said before and other WL vets will say, we all would be happy in a broom closet just to be at the Lodge.

Marge,

The postcard really impressed my oldest nephew because he had just taken his first trip to NYC the year before the attack in 2000, and had visited the WTC. He just took the card and stared at it for a long time. Then said "This should stay with the box" I agree...I just hope what I left for Fred can also stay until his return. (HE might not want it)

I also posted the first few days of trip report (not very good at this)

Just read on another thread that the Christmas parade taping will be on December 6th!! ::yes:: I can't believe it. I have always wanted to be on Main Street during the parade, but now reading the post I have my doubts. In one word, CROWDED. :crowded: But bragging rights would be kinda cool. And I would tape the parade on Christmas morning and save it for my kids to show them when they get older. Also my youngest will turn 2 on the 6th, what a birthday surprise.

Oh yeah....Check the timer out:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I just found this thread and want to find time to read it all. I am asking for help. We have booked a room at WL for 12/26-1/2. I know--we've lost our minds, but this is what our DD wanted for her 16th birthday. We will also be observing our 28th anniversary, so it is a special time. Could I make a room request and if so, where and how? Would there be anything else special? What is the sleigh ride? Our DD's dream is to work at Disney. We're taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour. If anyone has any wonderful ideas to make her day very special, we would be very grateful!

Had a great day at the MK...Busy, but not too bad...waited only 30 minutes tops and that was at the Indy cars...that is ALWAYS a long wait...waited only 5 minutes for the Jungle Cruise, which, at 3:30pm is unusual I thought...Thunder Mountain was closed but it looks nice with the fresh coat of paint..

Didn't get to the WL..:worried:
But my mom went with us, and I really want her to see the Lodge and soak it all in when we can enjoy it!!
ok...ttyal!

Hey WL friends! I would just like to say that I plan on taking the WTC postcard, so sorry . . . just kidding. I will probably bring something like it myself. Of course, it would be weird if I ended up bringing exactly what you brought, Starz723, so . . . I'll have to be really creative. MIMH- I'm glad that Blake was able to see the WTC before 9/11. I still can't get used to the skyline, as a New Yorker.

MagicInMyHeart- i am so excited for your trip report! Thanks for taking the time to write it.

So y'all, here's the thing. I want to "propose" to my partner of five years. I don't want to do the whole ring thing, so I got a mizpah, which is a silver Jewish charm which represents love and commitment. (I ordered it engraved and got it back today- it looks so beautiful- the most expensive gift I've ever bought someone, but I am so glad I did!) The ceremony probably won't be until the spring or something close to that, but I think that I want to do the whole proposal thing at WDW since it will be so special there.

I'm not sure exactly how I want to do it. We're not staying concierge so I can't have them bring up something special or have anything waiting for us on arrival, I don't think. I was thinking possibly the Sleigh Ride would be a nice way to do it? Any other ideas? As you can see, my countdown is getting low, so I need to get the juices flowing on this thing. I am very excited and romanced in the whole idea, so I keep skipping the practical part in favor of dreaming of how sweet it will be and how we will feel!:o So, anybody . . .?

BTW, we live together, so it will have to be something that won't be overly conspicuous to plan!

Why not take an Illuminations Birthday Cruise!?

I don't think FloridaCat has posted since last Wedensday....Not just this thread but anywhere. Hope everything is OK. We miss our wacky weatherman.

Hi All!
I too was wondering where FC has been!! Hope everything is okay!!!!!

Majestic, it is nice to see you posting again, you were missed!

Maidmarion Hi! The sleigh ride is a great ideal, something that is new and fresh at the WL! It should be dark, and I think just street lights. It would be great if xmas lights were in some trees on the path they take the sleigh on! Last year on our 30th I called guest services and ordered a cake, they had it all sit up in the room after MVMCP, white table cloth, I had also taken a small tree, they had tree lights on, was very "ROMANTIC!"Our countdowns looking better, and better!

Shopgirl:earsgirl:

Maybe he went out of town for the holidays....if we don't hear from him soon, I have his home address and will send a note.

Maidmarion,

I have been thinking all day what would be nice, The Sleigh Ride does sound great, I would maybe purchace a small bottle of bubbly with two beautiful champagne glasses and surprise your partner...maybe even a few of the chocolate covered strawberries could be purchaced from the lodge....

Or make reservations over at the California Grill one night when MK is scheduled for Wishes and have toast and charm ready to pop the question with a view of the Castle, and fireworks going off in the background. (now that's romantic)

Or a late night trip to the hot tub with the Lodge in the background.

"I'm not sure exactly how I want to do it. We're not staying concierge so I can't have them bring up something special or have anything waiting for us on arrival." Oh yes you can, just check with room service or guest services.

Congratulations and Good Luck.

Oh my gosh! Thanks everyone for your ideas! I plan to sleep (hard) on them and see how I feel tomorrow. I'm so excited!

I knew people who loved the WL would have to be romantics too:teeth:

Maidmarion,

Hmm. IMHO, I would do it after the Wishes Fireworks near the Castle when the park clears out.

Whatever you choose will be special!
