Ok for the past two weeks I have been working on a cool project that I think everyone will love.

We always want to know who is going to be at the Lodge when we are going down but have not had a way to keep track of it.

I created a database system that will allow you to enter the dates you are going and search to see who else will be there when you are going!! I call it, "Who's Going".

Currently, you can only use Wilderness Lodge or Villas at Wilderness Lodge but if this takes off, I can only assume that others will use it as well and I will add hotels / resorts.

There are 3 main pages.

1) The main search page. You can search based on a number of criteria but you don't need to use ALL of them. For example, if you wanted to see who is going in January of 2004 you would select January as the month and 2004 as the year.

2) The ADD records page. This is obviously where you would add your stay information. Take note of the password you use as you can use it later to edit or remove your record.

3) The EDIT record page. This is where you can return to change your dates OR delete your entry if need be. Make sure you use the password you entered on the add record page.

I have tested it and I am sure it could still use some work. How about you all take a few and go fill out your dates and let me know if I can do anything to make it easier or if there is something missing as far as directions / instruction go.

I think this will be fun.

Hats off to Majestic once again. I just added my dates. It was simple and self explanatory There is already another family that is staying concierge the same time as us but I haven't seen them on this thread it was on the Attractions board. Maybe we'll run in to each other.
I am so close now and I can feel the tension I have been trying for weeks now to get my son on the pirate cruise but no such luck I am on some kind of concierge waiting list for it, I think that just means that Tara (my email contact) will keep checking for me. But everything is set, I HOPE. I have gifts that are going to be waiting and my sons birthday party is arranged for (thanks Majestic!!) Now all I have to do is let this week drag by slowly.

It looks as though I am going to have to add a few things to my who's going program. One thing I didn't think of was people going in one month and coming back in another. (DUH!)

I will try to add that soon. The problem is, when I do re-initialize the database, everyone will have to go back and re-add their entries.

Sorry about that!! So for now, please don't add anything until you hear back from me with a go ahead. (Unless you want to to test more things!)

Also, take note that NONE of the fields are a requirement to add your info to the database at this time. I AM going to make months, dates, and years mandatory to prevent accidental blank entries. (Thanks Swampkatz! You helped me pick this one off.)

Lastly, is there any other field you would want in the Who's Going results page? Something else to search on?

The cool thing is you can go an enter a dis member name and it will bring up only their entries. Heck, maybe sometime down the road, people will use my program to help them decide when to go!

I'd just have a small suggestion, would it be possible to add a small comment field for each entry? It might be a quick communication tool for us. For example: Illum cruise to share 3/4/04, (to give us "first crack" before opening it to other Dis'ers), etc.

Well, I thought about doing that BUT I thought that leaving the email addresses in view and having the dates would be enough to make organizing a get together easy.

I don't want to make it to confusing so I scrapped the idea of the comments field.

I also ran out of space and I don't want the data to look any more cluttered than it already does. I was actually thinking of getting rid of the Date Added field to make room for the rest. What do you guys think? Keep it? Remove it? Do you think it is a nice thing to know when it was added?

Also, The NEXT version of the database is now online. I made the changes I wanted so FOR TESTING PURPOSES, can you all go and fill out your dates and let me know if all works??? We may have a final working version here.
