Lights Motors Action

This is my brother's favorite attraction at the Studios (and we always liked it too). Thankfully he was with us when we went in December and we saw this again. I knew this was possibly going but didn't say so.

True but also kind of False. Walls were not up yet when I was there last week but the meet and greets were closed.
I took this picture yesterday

Universal Studios owes WDW a huge kickback for the tremendous amount of business it is getting, and will get, from people making the run up I-4 on what otherwise would have been their DHS day. I recently reconfigured my next trip to do just that, and thanks to my airline rescheduling our flight home, I will have just enough time on our departure day to pop in to DHS to do the few things left that are worth doing. Choosing between seeing Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade or Construction Walls was a pretty easy decision.

But that is all rumor, prediction, conjecture. Disney has announced two lands only. They have not shared their plans on where. They have not announced land 3 or 4.

If there is an "unknown" land years down the road, why bulldoze LMA now? Makes more sense it's for TS or SW.

While it's fun for us all to talk about, create scenarios and what ifs .... none is fact until it's done.

1) We don't know whether they will close for SW construction. It all depends on where SW is really going. If it goes SE and out the park, a small pocket Muppet area can stay. Muppets does pull in lots of guests.

2) I see no Muppets land being built, only the small area it's in being re-themed. The permit filed for the area is the entire building Pizza Planet and Mama Melrose is in, with an architect that does bigger projects. Sounds like the building itself will get major change ..... but theme unknown.

3) Indiana pulls in crowds and if they are going forward with making these new Indiana movies I don't see it going anywhere for awhile. Maybe Phase VIII.
You bulldoze LMA now for staging areas. They need staging for the two announced lands and that is where it will go. Toy Story and Star Wars are not supposed to go where LMA is.

1. Everything I have heard points to Muppets being safe.

2. Exactly, the retheme will essentially create a muppets mini-land.

3. Indiana Jones stays for now but its future really is uncertain. A new Indiana Jone ride is now being rumored for the future though.

A good friend of mine is one of the drivers for LMA and told me a few months back they knew it was coming, most likely in the Spring but he did not know the exact date. I guess now we do. Hate to see it go as I love the attraction, personal deal to me as a racer myself. Hate to see friends lose jobs, but they are also racers in the "real world" so most are good to go back on tracks.

Heh... not even bothering taking down the Christmas decorations... :)
all Christmas decorations will be down by tomorrow, but yeah, I'm not sure if they will bother with what's behind the walls right now

Right . .but it just seems that is smack dab where Star Wars Land would go .. so I can't see it lasting long. It is a HUGE piece of land that whole area is on. They will need it for Star Wars land you'd think. They will probably keep it up as long as they can because of the crowds it eats up.

Plus .. the show hasn't changed since it was created. Its a fun show, but time to go, but as the FINAL attraction left with the "Movie Studio" theme .. it pretty much has to go sometime, doesn't it? They way the show is formated (as if they are filming a movie) just no longer makes sense in the context of this "new" park.

Not sure why they just don't rename the park now that LMA and Streets of America will be closing .. there is nothing really "Studios" about it anymore besides the buildings themselves resembling movie studio lots.

I've never been. I'm going to DW next week. We've got to check it out.

I'm starting to think we may just skip DHS on the next trip or only go in for a couple hours...Just not seeing how we could spend an entire day here and wait times on the few attractions left are going to be crazy.

I know this will never happen but given that the three non-MK are half day parks Disney needs to do something for the park goers. You should be allowed to park hop between the three non-MK parks without buying park hoppers. Have more characters walking around and more outdoor character meet and greets. Something that gives the impression that they are trying to make up for the lack of attractions.

I think a lot of people will be "skipping" it for the next year or more. Eventually (you'd think) another attraction or two will close as construction continues.

Very few (and old) attractions, plus new attractions at Epcot and AK will definitely pull a lot of guests from DHS. Plus (as others above have said) - Universal with a new Harry Potter world and King Kong world will pull vacationers there as well.

I love DHS (and will probably love it more after construction), but if I go to WDW this year, I will hit DHS for part of a day and then park hop -- just to check out the Launch Bay, Star Tours and the Star Wars Fireworks ... Everything else can just wait until the lands are done and my son is older.

I strongly disagree that the three non-MK parks are half day parks. To me AK is a full day park and so is Epcot. Yes both may lack in rides but there is a lot more to do than just rides.

Why would they sell regular tickets that you could park hop with? That just doesn't make any sense.

I think that's exactly what we will probably end up doing..My boys love Star Wars so we will check that out and then hop on over somewhere else.
