Lightning Lane questions

We are coming at the end of January. I know I can buy our lightning lanes 7 days before check in but have a couple questions.

We have 3 days of park hoppers but intend to go to all 4 parks. We only need to buy a LL multi pass for three parks - the first ones we go to in a day, correct? And then the 4th we’ll get access to when we park hop?

We can book our first 3 LL reservations at time of purchase. Can we also prebook the single LL purchases? I think that’s correct but the only time I used LL was at Disneyland which is apparently quite different in how it’s set up.

Any tips about which park we should start in? Looks like MK is typically the most expensive LL purchase so tempting to not buy that one and hope to park hop, but we also have tickets to Hollywood studios after hours so it probably makes sense to have that one be our park hop with no preexisting LL reservations since we should be able to hit the big rides without long waits.

You are correct.

Yes up to (2) LLSP per day, and they don't need to be at the same park but you do need the park hopper option which you indicated you would be using.

The down side if that there will be much fewer LLMP selections when you hop to MK vs starting there with (3) pre-selected LLMP attractions that you were able to book 7 days in advance.

Do you have to have executed the hop to start making selections at MK or can you make it as an additional selection once you use one of your pre-booked attractions? I know that practically you need to make the selections for after you plan to arrive at the next park and times may be too early, but I thought you could, right?

Tapping in to your first reserved lightning lane unlocks the tiers and the other parks as long as you have hopper tickets. You don’t have to wait until you hop to begin booking passes in another park.

Keep in mind that the grace period for multi passes has been extended to 119 minutes beyond the reservation window which helps stacking for your 2nd park.

It’s also a good idea to be familiar with the additional release times for some of those hard to get passes.

Okay, that's what I thought. So, theoretically you can make a selection for another park pretty early if you schedule your first LL early.

You’ve got it. After you use the first one, you can even rebook your 2nd and 3rd passes to the other park if you want to.

Another feature that doesn’t get discussed much is that you can also book a 4th multi pass after one ‘expires’, and the original pass is still valid for up to two hours after that expiration. This could give you a pretty good chance of stacking a good bundle for your 2nd park.
