Now I see where you are coming from! Since it's been years since I paid attention, if I ever knew that, I've forgotten it.

Still, wondering if this is a new control feature. Such as if you want free parking, make a reservation. Otherwise take the bus and take your chances.

I just have to remember to hit cancel if we decide not to bother.

That remains to be seen, the website seems to suggest that walk-ups (and drive-ups without reservation) may still be allowed. We'll have to see how it works in practice in January.

DVC-Y members are specifically allowed to park at BLT after I think 7PM so we can access the TOTWL lounge. You can't expect to be able to park there at other times without some kind of reservation though!

That has been the case since 2020…but with this new reservation system and it mentioning parking the way it does, I have a feeling that they will no longer allow parking without it.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if it would include the length of stay time, like the regular ADRs do, or not. It must not. . Appreciate the response!

However, I believe those dates should be open for us:

Eligible Members with access to Membership Extras can book Top of the World Lounge – Complimentary Fireworks Viewing daily (subject to capacity and blockout dates). Call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 to make a reservation up to 60 days in advance. Please note that Resort Guests may make Top of the World Lounge – Complimentary Fireworks Viewing reservations starting 60 days in advance of their Resort arrival for the entire length of their stay (up to 10 nights).

My reservation starts the 20th, and they didn't have anything in the system for BLT yesterday at 9:00 am. The cast member said he couldn't see anything back a day or two either. Not just "no availability" but he was able to see that no reservations were in the system at all for any DVC members for those days, and to keep trying. So that's my plan this week.

I called I want to say on 12/11 to make a reservation for 2/7/26. All that is available I am told is 7:30pm, I called back a few times to get a later time closer to the start of the fireworks albeit we also have dinner at Steakhouse 71, so wanted to have more time to eat and get up there, and over the course of these calls, the last member services rep said we can go after 7:30 but that was the earliest we can go up. So I am definetly a little confused but we will see.

I find it interesting that after the board meeting where parking concerns for blt specifically came up and the board said they were aware of the issue and "actively looking for ways to address it" that this is being offered.

I think its great they have more offerings for direct members, just pointing out that it seems a little dismissive of the board to say that knowing they're going to have this offering that members are actively booking. I never have a car so I am totally indifferent.

Or, this is a way to control it? Prior to this any DVC owner could come at night and park if they were eligible.

Yes i was just pointing that out how I noticed that they will say that no matter what

I think this offering is attracting more people to go there that otherwise wouldnt if It weren't being offered. If it were me I would want to extract as much value as I could from being direct, although id be more interested in wicked wind down, a free offering is always going to attract more people than paid

One thing I noticed about contemporary is how crowded it was when we went in December. It actually felt more crowded than any other hotel we went to that trip, just super busy! Perhaps can be attributed to the gingerbread castle which seemed to be attracting a lot of people, but all the restaurants, stores and common areas were jam packed as well. I didnt realize how popular it is
