I had one of those my grandmother made me when I was 8. My husband found it to be a great blanket too and it soon became a fight on the couch of who got it. It was my Granny Blanket. The patches started falling off and I sewed them on as it happened until I could no longer sew it anymore. It is a sad sheet of tattered material now and I had to retire it many years ago. I still have it. Wish I could use it. I have another one she made for my wedding gift. We never used it. It's so tempting, but I want something i can pass down to my son while it is still in great shape.
The smell of my children's freshly shampooed hair. You know, when you go to kiss them on the top of the head after they've had a bath or shower, and their hair still smells like the shampoo? I love that super clean smell!
Going to sleep on freshly changed sheets.
A good thunderstorm.
Even better, going to sleep on freshly changed sheets while it's thunderstorming outside!
My DS10 asking if he can come in my bed to watch a favorite show with me. I know these days are very short now--soon he will not want to snuggle anymore I'm sure. Monday when we were off of work and school, he wasn't feeling well and wrapped his fingers in my hair like he used to do when he was SO sick in the hospital and fell asleep. I was in HEAVEN--but I couldn't go anywhere for three hours!!!!
A full fridge and cubbord. I know it sounds silly, but when DH and I first lived together we were broke! And I mean $50 a week for food broke. So to have the fridge and cubbord stocked so full that we have to put things in the downstairs freezer makes me happy.
