Life's a Happy Song When There's Someone by my Side to Sing Along* TR started! *

Heyyy those are great ideas! Lots of new stuff there for me. Ironically, I've been trying to tell DH about a certain song from the Epcot area music and I couldn't find it. I clicked on Sorcerer radio and would you believe that was the first song I heard? It's the Innoventions music.
Personally... I go through my old pictures. Albums and scrapbooks and just the digital files. I listen to music (but I've never seen those radio stations! Thanks for those!) and I watch Disney music. I Dis a lot too ;)

Wow that's a nice coincidence! I really like that Sorcerer Radio gives you the name of the song that is playing.

I still haven't gotten around to printing the pictures from our last trip. I always get motivated to do it than I chicken out when I realize how much it cost per picture or how slow it is to upload to the less expansive websites. Hopefully I'll have them printed before our next trip!

You're right! Watching Disney Movies I forgot about that one. I love putting on Lilo and Stitch in the background. It's not my favorite movie but I love the music in it so it's perfect for when I study.

So I was at work straightening the sections and saw "The Boys" and then I realized that in that post I was calling it "two boys" for some reason lol. There ARE two boys in it. Haha

I just bought Lilo and Stitch the other day, actually. I had only seen it once or twice and I'm trying to collect them all anyways so I went ahead and got it. It's okay I guess. Just another Disney movie to add to the queue when I'm bored and longing for my trip!
I think my favorite "background" Disney movie is Lady and the Tramp. I love the dialogue and background music so much. But it's also my favorite so that's probably why. It's the only Disney movie I could watch 24/7 and not get sick of.

I'll have to check out those radio sites when I'm back on my regular computer, they sound great though :thumbsup2

When I get Disney withdrawal I usually come on here and look at stuff...unless I've just gotten back from a trip and it's hard to see other people's stuff, knowing that I don't have another upcoming trip. For some reason I'm on here all the time when I'm planning a trip, and when I get back from one I'll come on every now and then, but then it falls off my radar :(

I also like watching Disney movies And looking at old vacation photos :wizard:

It is hard to come back to the Dis after a trip to Disney! I was planning on starting a trip report ASAP after getting back and didn't get to it until a month or so after just because I was too jealous of others going back to WDW.

I also like to color in my Disney coloring books! haha

That would be fun! :P We are actually planing on making Disney Coloring books for the young (and young at heart) guests at our wedding to keep them entertained during the ceremony and reception.

Cute! We had a whole kid's table in the back room with stickers and coloring sheets from my mom's kindergarten classroom. All the parents REALLY appreciated it. Wish I would have thought to make it Disney specific lol!

I'm so glad it's not just me! :worship:

OMG! That is such a great idea! I may have to borrow it for our wedding :rolleyes1 if that's okay of course

I've been trying to discreetely include Disney in our wedding and this is the only way I've found so far.

I'm so glad it's not just me! :worship:

Haha, of course you can borrow it. The idea isn't mine anyway. Someone posted it online and I thought it was genius.

Hey Everybody!

I'd like to talk about our :bride:wedding:bride: a bit, if that's ok with you guys...It's coming up in 90 days and we've kinda rev'd up the wedding planning.

It's is taking place at Jess's cottage near the beach in a big tent. Our colors will be white, red and black with red roses as our flowers. This is a stock photo I found online that represents our vision for the evening.

My aunt is a cookie pro (she sells them at the Farmer's market in town and they are amazing) so she will be making us these awesome red velvet cookies that we will set up on a layered cake stand and my best friend will be baking a small 6inch round cake for the top layer so that we can cut the cake :). (again stock photo taken from the internet but shows the general idea)

As you can see, so far there isn't much Disney or geeky about our wedding. So we're trying to add discrete things into our ceremony and reception that are "us". Today we discovered that any song played on piano, violin or saxophone automatically becomes classy. So I think that we have decided to have most of our wedding soundtrack be instrumental and we've found some GREAT artist on youtube that we can buy songs on Itunes. Here are a few of our favs.

Pre-wedding ambiance:
Color of the Wind

Can you feel the love tonight?

I can't help falling in love with you

The Piano Guys Cover of OneRepublic

Processional:
Edge of Glory/Don't stop believing ???

Walking down the Aisle:
Pachelbel meets U2 by Jon Schmidt

Recessional:
Happy Together

First Dance:
Beauty and the Beast

But that's all we've got so far in terms of Disney or geeky. So my question for you faithful readers is how can we add a bit of Disney magic to our wedding? :worship:

Awesome plans so far :thumbsup2

I'm not sure what kind of reading or readings you're having, but you could add a Disney-esque reading in the ceremony...or maybe put your favourite quotes from your favourite Disney movies at each table in addition to the center piece. You could also add some hidden mickey's in to the decor somehow, or add something Disney in the favours.

I so wish we were that far along with our planning...we still don't have our dresses :scared:

Those are great ideas thanks! I forget, what are the dates for your wedding?

It's October 27th...we still have time to get things sorted out, but I'm starting to feel the pressure

The only Disney-ish thing I had at my wedding was some of the prelude music (Best of Friends from Fox and the Hound particularly)
But being the enormous hockey fan I am I tried to get that in the wedding, discretely! So my cousin the artist made a cake topper for us out of clay. It was discrete but very us

That's me in my favorite players' jersey holding a hockey stick! And my husband's a snowboarder so that's that.

We also did a photo tree at the signing table. You could gather your favorite pictures of you two at Disney World, print them in black and white, and hang them on a little tree (we made ours out of spray painted branches in a vace

Another thing you could do is replace a guest book with an item you two care about. Maybe a pair of Mickey ears? And have guests sign them in a silver sharpie? We did antique skis (as you see in the photo) and display them in our living room since they match our theme. We figured we'd never look through our book and it would get shoved on a shelf somewhere but the skis we see everyday!

That's all the ideas I have for now. I like the idea of having a Disney quote (a discrete one about love) at every table. In fact, I watched the Muppets again the other day and remembered where your quote was from and we wished we'd thought to incorporate it into our wedding!

Hmmm, first some thoughts on your music, all of which were good to help me waste my morning! :rotfl:

Pre-wedding ambiance:
Color of the Wind
This was great! You're right, a saxophone makes anything classy.

Can you feel the love tonight?
Such a beautiful song anyway, this is a pretty version.

I can't help falling in love with you
Ohhhh I got chills with this one. So pretty.

The Piano Guys Cover of OneRepublic
Just sat and watched with my jaw hanging open and totally forgot that I was watching YouTube. Wow!

Processional:
Edge of Glory/Don't stop believing ???
Those guys are good, I loved how seamless the transition between songs was.

Walking down the Aisle:
Pachelbel meets U2 by Jon Schmidt
Lots of traditional tones in this one, and the mix is phenomenal. It's just enough of each. I can actually visualize this one at a cottage wedding. :lovestruc

Recessional:
Happy Together
Besides the fact that I was dying laughing at the video, what a gorgeous version of the song. So happy! Perfect for having just married the love of your life.

First Dance:
Beauty and the Beast
When Johnny and I got married we had not a single Disney thing and it made us a little sad. We thought about using this song as our first dance (in a sax or piano only version, like this) but this was Johnny's point: "With or without words, the song is very recognizable as Beauty and the Beast.... so isn't everyone going to wonder which one picked the song and which one is the Beast?" Just for your consideration. No denying it's a seriously lovely song though.

But that's all we've got so far in terms of Disney or geeky. So my question for you faithful readers is how can we add a bit of Disney magic to our wedding? :worship:
Ok, other ideas. I went looking at my wedding albums on Facebook to try to remember all the things we made/did that could be Disneyfied.

... ahhh memories...

Ahem. Back to the task at hand.

Your colours are already very Mickey Mouse friendly, so that's fun!

Programs: Are you making or having programs? Wouldn't be too hard to incorporate some Disney magic there. A Cinderella carriage motif embossed on them or faded in the background? Lots of Disney love stories to pull from of course.

Guestbook table: Or gift table or something similar. Display favourite Disney ornaments and photos in nice frames? Further to that, we had several very small tables around in different areas with matching items, just to tie in the theme.

What if some of the cookies your aunt is decorating had hidden Mickeys? Or you could make it a game to find hidden Mickeys all around the wedding site.
Mickey Mouse charms on/in the bouquets? I don't know if you're doing the something old/something new things, but you could borrow something like a little Disney pin or earrings or something.

My favourite thing we did at our wedding was the "Photo Wall" -- a prop wall set up to take pictures behind. We had a 1940's theme, so no Disney, but so easy to adapt!

We had pictures of our grandparents and great grandparents, especially weddings all around it, but you could put Disney pictures! We also had masks and fedoras for props... Mickey ears anyone?

Sam: Love your cake toppers! They are amazing. We haven't really thought about toppers yet. As for the guest book I love the skis. We talked about it last night and we might get a nice picture frame and have people sign that instead of a guest book.

Teeka: I'm happy I contributed to a good morning wasting :P. As for B&B song I agree. It's not our first choice but a friend of mine who is getting married 2 months after ours told us they had picked the same song as us (Then by Brad Paisley) and as much as I want to say that it doesn't bother me, it does. So we've been trying to find another song that has meaning to both of us.

Oh and I LOVE the picture frame wall. That is awesome.

We picked our wedding favors this morning :) We wanted something beachy :beach: for our guest to take home with them. So Voila!

Hello, since i'm the bigger nerd/geek of the two of us (margo/orangejuice), well exept for disnet lol. I really think the idea of putting some quote on the table is amazing, we can put anything representing us like disney, harry potter, video game and more. Also since I'm not only a disney fan but video game and all, I was thinking putting some video game song in the ambiance before the wedding, there are some very good song out there like Zelda Medley by lindsey Stirling, that artist is really amazing. Also the idea of integrading some disney magis on our program is really nice! We are probly going to do that :). I told my self I wouldn't be stressing about the wedding before my final exam that is on the 25, but I guess I can't stop myself from thinking about it!.. And since Margo's aunt is going to put so icing in some shape on the cookies, I was thinking like 1/10 cookines could have a hidden mickey on them so it's juste some people that's gonna received them but it would be a really nice touch.

Since you mentioned video game music...not sure if you've heard of Okami or not, but there's some awesome music in that game...and surprisingly enough Skyrim ...

The hidden mickey idea in the cupcake icing sounds awesome! :thumbsup2 And the favours are cute too :goodvibes It sounds like everything is coming together :)

Never heard of Okami but I'll definitly look into it. The hidden mickey idea just came to me like that as I was thinking where we could put something disney and what better place than on the "cake"
