Lexi's pre-trip report for Dream Factory wish trip! June 18-24, 2009

Just joining the site. My daughter will be on MAW trip to Disney probably this October.

Thought I'd drop by and leave a not. You're getting ready to go! Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Sorry to hear about your DS. I hope everything gets straightened out. I will keep him in my prayers.
I saw your post about being nervous about traveling...me too! This will be our first airplane ride with Sam since he started having seizures. Most days he is fine, but there are a few days a month that he wakes up and just has tons of seizures. I am so worried that will happen on our travel day. I don't know what we will do if he does, I guess just get on the plane anyway?? I am glad you mentioned the note from the doc...We have an appointment this week and I will make sure I get one from him. One of Sam's meds is a liquid, so I certainly don't want any trouble. I will definitely carry them in my carry on because we can't chance them being lost!
On a more positive note...the big day is getting closer....everyone here is super excited!! I know you guys are too!

Thanks for the prayers. I hope the doc note helps. I plan on taking all of our med supplies with us as carry-on. I know we have a straight flight but just don't want anything to happen to the supplies or meds. That would be the worst way to start off a vacation.
Yes, we are getting super excited. (I think I have used the word excited more today than I have in the last year). I am trying to get everything in order and sometimes I feel like I am running around with my head in the clouds . Can't wait to hear more about your planning also. Deb

Thank you I also think he is super cute! Yes, they have figured out that the mail is way much cooler than they ever imagined. I am thinking I will have to send them stuff once in awhile after we return. I have told my extended family and they are all on board to send cards and such so the kids could open something throughout the year. What a great idea this has sparked for us. How was the gymnastics tournament? We missed you at the fishing event. I posted some new pictures. I think I heard someone mention the next event is in September and it is some sort of picnic followed by fireworks. If it is not when we are at Disney maybe we can meet then!

Those pics are adorable. I know how you feel about the mom nerves, this will be our first time flying ever since my dd's diagnosis as well. Even have a note from the doc too lol, Malia has a g-tube so I have to get 5 cans of formula past security lol, I'm hoping the note will get it by them.

Thanks. We do have a countdown calendar. (Actually one for each kiddo).
They have been alot of fun and our ds can actually sorta figure out when we will be leaving.

We will be at GKTW at the same time. Are you doing the Christmas party? Would love to meet up with another Dismember while we are there. Hope we can find each other. I don't know how crowded it is at GKTW.

Two more packages recieved today. Thank you to Sarah and Tygansmom829121. The kids were overjoyed and I couldn't bare to take away the tutu or the pirate patch. I will have to try to sneak them in the suitcase later.
This has helped my dd's self-esteem so much. She can't get over that people who don't know her are actually this nice and like her (for those not following along she has had some self-esteem knock-downs at her old school)

I know what you mean. We are so excited and the planning is also fun to do. When we get back we won't know what to do with all of our spare time.

I LOVE that tutu skirt...it is adorable!! I am so glad he got a pirate patch...I looked all over for a pirate or peter pan hat...None to be found! (did not have time to order off a website...the only place I could find them)

PS - I thought of all you Wish Trippers...I met a family at the store yesterday that was heading down there this morning...I just hope that they make some really magical moments!

Oh my goodness!!!!!! I just realized after writing on someone's board that we leave in 10 short days. It sound alot longer when you see your ticker and it says over a week. I have so much to get done. I haven't made arrangements for my daughter's dog and noone will come over and feed my son's snake. I wonder if he could go that long without eating?
Has anyone ever boarded their dog? I am so worried to do that. My 14 year old dog has never been boarded and my mom will take care of her while I am gone but my dd's little crazy dog??????? Noone will take her in their home because she is just plain crazy (hyper, hyper, and more hyper). I think I will just have to break down and board her. Should I just do this at the vet's office? Maybe they could spay her while we are gone and let her heal in peace and quiet. I am going to check into this.
