Let's Talk Princesses!

I think the entire experience of the meet & greets is a wonderful memory! The princesses interact with the kids just like they are the real life thing, it definitely makes it magical for the kids! We did the BBB for both princess dress up and pirate night and it was worth every penny! Once again, the girls were brought into the world of magic where they were the real deal just like the fairy Godmothers working on them. We packed our own dresses for this just to save money and we had purchased them online for a great price when on sale! Pirate night was an awesome experience as well, it was so fun watching them get dressed up in their pirate attire. I ordered pink pirate shirts online and they wore these with denim skirts, ended up matching great with all the pink pirate attire they are given at the BBB. Over all the entire trip was so worth it! I love the memories it made for our family!

We are doing both the princess and pirate night too! I've got our own dresses...but question: which hairdo did you choose? My daughter *may* want to do the Elsa hairdo with her Aurora dress. Do you think they would let her do that? Thanks!

I am excited for more princess pics! I need to work on making a nice high and smooth bun. Last time I did dd's hair in a high pony then ran it through the center of a small tiara. It was tricky to keep it in place securely though. I'd love tips on that. I was going to have dd get her hair done on ship, but then I realized it's not an option on the Wonder.

Note to self: I should bring some glitter. Lord knows Disney has deposited enough glitter in my house, time to repay the favor! ;)

I put my daughter's hair in a bun for her dance recitals. Her hair isn't as long as your daughter's, but here's what we do: First, smooth it all back into a high pony. Then, braid it and wrap it around the middle. I secure it with about 100 bobby pins (the braid helps the bobby pins stick in better). I use gel to smooth any stray hairs. Finally, I use a bun cover to put over the bun to keep it all in. I got her bun cover at Target, but you can also find it in any dance store. It's literally a small cap that fits over the bun. Hers is dark like her hair with some small beads sewn into it. Good luck!

OOO I love Princesses too! Interactions with the princesses are the best. I recently got off the Fantasy (the last Star Wars crusie) and sorry there was no Princess Aurora onboard. My tips for princess interactions are to ask them cute questions relating to their movies (example: Ask Cinderella how are Jaq and Gus). Hope this helps and have a magical princess cruise:sail:princess:

My 3 princesses wear "mom approved costumes"- a website w/ princess dresses that are still have sparkle but are glitter free, washable and much less scratchy than the standard. In our experience the BBB is just as good if not better when we bring our own dress- its all about the attention and the hair/makeup.

My then 4 year old daughter absolutely adored the cruise probably because of the princesses only... We met Cinderella, Rapunzel and Belle on the first day (before breakfast!) during the princess gathering, and then she kept meeting them every evening. She also met Anna and Elsa, it was almost a year ago and it's still so fresh in her memory!!

And the princesses were absolutely wonderful with her. One day (the last sea day) for example we were going for breakfast and a princess gathering was taking place; there was no one waiting, so even if we had no tickets for it Rapunzel called out to my daughter, and had a chat with her (the other princesses were still meeting other little girls). Another evening we saw Cinderella, she was getting ready to leave. She took my DD by the hand and starting walking away with her, soon to be joined by Belle. My daughter was holding hands with both princesses, walking away, the happiest little girl on board :)

She had 3 princess dresses with her (Anna, Cinderella and princess Sofia), and every evening she asked to wear a different one. Everyone kept calling her princess, she loved it. For this summer's cruise she'll probably have another set of dresses (I'm terrible and as soon as they have discounts in the Disney Story I get her one... but then we visit Disneyland Paris often enough so she gets to wear them fairly regularly). Now that they have the BBB in the Magic I'm hoping to get her an appointment, I think she'll really like it, I hope they can do her hair like Elsa's (I'm useless when it comes to hair). She's already asking to wear her Rapunzel dress to show it to the real Rapunzel ;) (so I really hope she'll be on board this summer!!!)

Here are some pics :)

We have had great character meetings on the ships. The princesses were wonderful, and my girly DD has had some special moments with them.

Belle noticed DD dressed as Alice, and read Alice in Wonderland in her book for her.

DD stalked Tiana...when it was her time to leave, Tiana took DD's hand and walked with her.

Snow White asked if the apple was poisonous. It was great to see 2 princesses together.

Ariel asked DD to twirl with her.

Cinderella compared shoes with DD.

I don't have any good packing tips, but DD's dresses are packed on top of everything else. They get better care than my dress I wear on formal night. ;) I love that DD can wear those special occasion dresses and meet the princesses when cruising, and it is easy to go back to the cabin for change. In the parks she would need to wear something more comfortable to walk around.

Oh, so sweet! When do you see Belle in the blue outfit? I assumed she was always in the yellow gown!

That Belle moment happened on Magic in 2013. One day she was walking around with her book in her hand. There was no one around, so she took her time to read to DD. I don't know how often Belle walks around in her blue dress, but I have seen others reporting it too.

On our Christmas cruise though, I saw Belle in her Christmas dress walking around. I am not sure if she wore her blue dress during that cruise.

My daughter was so excited to see Anna and Elsa. When it was her turn, Elsa had gotten down on one knee and beckoned for her to come. Well my daughter took off running to her and thew her arms around her neck. Well, Elsa wasn't prepared for quite that amount of enthusiasm. Poor Elsa ended up flat on her back! I felt so bad and was quite embarrassed. But she just started laughing, waved me off, and continued with her conversation with my daughter. I will always be so grateful to her for making that experience so special for my daughter even with the mishap.

That cruise also put Tinkerbell in a special place place in my heart. I have a son in a wheelchair with special needs. We were with him in the Atrium waiting for someone. We saw the que for Tinkerbell across the lobby. She was just making her way over there when she saw us, and came over to say hi to my son! She spent a minute to talk with him. I was floored and so grateful!

They will let the kids pick whatever they choose. I had one daughter do the hip hop hair do with her Jasamine dress and the other went with the princess hair do. It's all up to the kiddo.
