Let's talk door decorations! Add pics, please!

Hey, everyone! I'm cruising in 26 days, whoopee!!! I want to decorate our doors (my family will be in 3 staterooms) and would love some ideas of what to buy, where to buy, and see some samples of your decorated stateroom doors, please! I am a very uncrafty person, so any tips and pics would be so appreciated.

Hi Melsmom12,

here's our door from our 4 night in August. All the bits were done in Word and printed on ordinary paper, laminated and magnets stuck to the back to stick them to the door. Some of the smaller bits, like the green DIS mickeys heads, ears on the door number and flag were printed on magnetic paper. he door was then embelished with a few magnetic badges from WDW.

These look great, I've been struggling with what to do - I've bought the paper magnet -thinking we would just decorate that - but it looks like you have the decorated paper from Michaels and cut it out and then put it thru your printer? Nice job!

Hi there,

The lime green Mickey heads on your door... are those the paint chips from Home Depot? Were you able to remove the Mickey head from the backing or did you just cut around it?

I'm going to get some of those for myself. I told DH and DS14 and DS12 that they couldn't have any since they're not DISers. Maybe I'll get them a different color since they're DISers by association

Our DIY stores in the UK don't have the Mickey paint chips, so I used a Mickey Head from another Diser and changed the colour to the best green I could to match the green seen on many posts. I just printed a load onto a sheet of magnetic paper and then cut them out to stick on the door.

When I was wondering what I was going to put on our doors, somebody sent me to those threads and I spent the next month looking at 100s of pages of gorgeous designs. The designers will personalize their designs with your name and they'll even create things for you (all for free!)

We haven't gone on our cruise yet, but here are some magnetic signs that we'll be putting on our door. The first 4 signs I created (I became convinced that I coudl create my own signs,) and the last ones were created by the DISigner named Pat. For the last one, I asked her if she could come up with a design to honor all the kids (all adopted from Russia) in our group (cruising in 11 days!!!!!!!!!) She came up with the nesting doll idea and with the american and Russian flags in teh background. I love this sign!!!

Since we haven't gone on our cruise yet, I dont' have photos of our door. I'll post some when we get back!

I peeled mine off the backing and then laminated it and put the magnetic tape on the back.

Love the designs and the door. I suppose I better get on the ball. We are cruising in February and I haven't started my door signs. Love the great ideas.

Heres some that I am working on. I am persay a craft fan and I like to make things. So I designed these mickey ears (for the door #) and the mickey hats that are relatively small, (about 6 inches in diameter) for our door. Picked up the little ones at Diy store.
