Let's talk about thin walls

We've stayed at many WDW resorts, but I couldn't tell you about the noise.
I couldn't hear anything above my groaning about my sore feet and tired body. ;)

I know exactly what you mean.
Honestly I have never heard anything at all from anyone else when at POR or ASMo but after a day at Epcot, I'd say I could sleep on my head in the bathtub with the shower running and the entire Chicago Symphony Orchestra playing the Mickey Mouse March in the bathroom with me. WDW just wears me out :faint:

Have to say, we have never had a problem with noise anywhere. We do sleep with bathroom fan or a/c fan on at night. Maybe that helps? :confused3 Just wanted to post the most surprising place we stayed that wasn't noisey was CSR - Cassitas 1. We were the first room next to the elevators and convention doors. Granted there were no conventions going on at the moment but we heard nothing outside of our room. Just thought I'd share! :teeth:

The only noise I've ever had a problem with, and I've stayed in most of the Disney resorts,is when people put the lock in front of the door so it doesn't shut all way.REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that sound very well and it shakes the wall when the door slams against it. There is no other sound like it and I'm amazed that people do use that maid latch late at night. I've stayed in 4 WDW resorts and you can always hear doors opening and closing when people shut them hard. To me it's part of the vacation because you never hear that type of noise at home. You have hundreds of people comming and going at a resort at any given time, especially if it's a peak time at Disney. What can you do? You can't stop all of the rude people in the world, it's impossible. Sometimes people aren't aware that they are making too much noise. :confused3

As for stoping people going to the bathroom at night and flushing, good luck with that! Maybe Disney should ban all bathroom usage at night. No peeing or pooping after 9pm! LOL!!! :rotfl2:

We were at POP recently and didn't have many problems. We did hear the toilet above us but with the turbo blaster thing on them we weren't surprised. There was also a kid who enjoyed jumping up and down during the day but at night they were quiet.

I also don't remember any problems when we stayed at CBR last year. That whole resort seemed quiet.

Unfortunately there are no gaurantees when it comes to noise in a hotel... any hotel. That is why we always travel with our "sound machine". This little device is the size of an alarm clock and produces sounds like night time crickets, the ocean, a babbling brook etc. The sound will drowned out hallway noise or noise eminating from your neighbors room. I highly recommend one. However, I should warn you to stay away from using the brook setting. It tends to make you have to visit the bathroom in the middle of the night.
