Lets see who the true Disney fans are? If you had to choose between a tropical vacation or a Disneyworld vacation which would you choose & why? :jester:

Reason: my dd is only 8 and has been to WDW 4 times and DL once. It is so much fun to see the world through her eyes. I figure when she gets older we can go to other places.(that's if she wants to go with us!)

DISNEY :earseek:
definatly !!!!!

cause there is no place in the world like it:earsgirl:

and what would we do in the tropics without our friends mickey minnie donald goofy pluto cinderella etc....

i AM a true DISNEY FAN::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Here's a true Disney fan! :teeth:

Here's my proof - - -

When my DH & I were planning our honeymoon in 1991 (we got married in October) we decided to go to Disney World. At that time we had never been there together and it had been YEARS since either of us had been there.

My DH's uncle told us we should go to Jamaica for our honeymoon. We told him "no, we really want to go to Disney World". He told us if we went to Jamaica he would pay for the entire trip! We told him "no thanks" and he said "well, if you go to Disney World I'm not paying for that!".

We went to Disney World, paid for it ourselves, and had a BLAST!

Even to this day it'd pick Disney World over a tropical vacation. heck, I get one at the Polynesian!

Disney.
I get bored spending all my time swimming and at the beach, and from what I hear from my friends that go on tropical vacations that is what a lot of people do. I need to be occupied, and Disney allows me to keep busy. Besides, there is nothing better than watching all the young kids in the parks, and their reactions to everything. Everything about Disney is so special, and so much fun.
And compared to NH, Disney IS tropical.

I vote Disney!

I have done St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. Very beautiful and relaxing.

But with Disney there is soooo much more to do! Restaurants, pools, theme parks, shows, water parks, etc.

I can do whatever I want, whenever the mood strikes. :earsboy:

For me it's Disney-- Hands down. I've had the opportunity to plan "tropical" trips in the last few years. Rather, we keep going back to WDW. It's where my heart is.

Definately Disney

Although it's far from tropical, we visit the Jersey shore each summer. So we get our fill of the beach.

When our youngest gets older, we might try a tropical vacation.....but not yet. We love Disney too much to go anywhere else.

I will never forget a few years back we decided to take our 2 girls to Sanibel Island for 2 weeks to vacation. Well after a few days of swimming, jet skiing, eating and shoppin they began to get restless. They were bored and frankly so was I. So when the time was up to go home and we had to drive past all those "disneyworld this way signs" my girls cried and I was right along with them. We said we would go to disney the following year and we have been doing that now 9 times in a row and never get tired of it.

Well for about the past 9-10 yrs I have done both. I visit WDW multiple times each year and I go to Hawaii each year as well. So I would say I don't choose I just do both.

**Why not go on a tropical-Disney vacation by going on the cruise??

Well, my DD is 11 and has been to WDW 5 times. I am the one with the Disney addiction. I promised my family that we would go on another vacation this year - and we are. We are all excited to be going to Bermuda on a cruise. (and the cruise boards are soooooo boring compared to these wonderful boards).

However, I just added another day of work. The pay increase is equal to a disney vacation. Should I be saving for college - of course. But am I going to WDW - YOU BET!!!

So, I am beginning to plan a WDW trip for the first week of November. Yippee!! :D :D :D :D

I say Disney. It is so fun to see our DD's reactions. We have been to the Carribean before our children were born and it was great! Family time is more important now.princess:

We alternate. Because we live in Seattle, Hawaii is about the same flying time as WDW- we were over there in November so am looking forward to being submersed in Disney for our April vacation.

If you asked my DS10 this question, I have a sneaking suspicion he'd pick Disney. As much as he enjoys Hawaii, Disney is far more entertaining.

Our next "tropical" will be a 3 day Disney cruise followed by 4 days at WDW - found a way to combine the two :sunny:

I would definitely choose Disney, hands down! My DH & kids are not "beachy" kind of people as they have to be "entertained". We're good for about 2 hours on a beach and then we're done.

At Disney, there's so much to keep you busy - and if you want downtime, you can have that, too. Just sitting around the pool for a couple of hours and we're ready to roll again!

Also, my DH is a somewhat picky eater so I know I can always find something for him to eat at WDW, but being stuck on a tropical island might be tough for him.

:D

I would choose Disney World. I'll always choose WDW over anything else. There's a lot more to do on a WDW vacation and even if you want to relax, there are resorts with a tropical feel to them so that you can feel as though you're really there, but having the added bonus of being able to go to one of the parks. I'm going on my first cruise (Royal Caribbean) with my girlfriend and her parents this summer. Before we go on the cruise we're going to visit her grandparents in Florida. One of those days will be spent at the Magic Kingdom. I'm more excited for that one day at MK than I am for our 7 day cruise. I'm really excited about the cruise, but nothing tops being able to spend a day at my favorite place on Earth.

I fiance and I decided on WDW for an 11 day honeymoon over 2 weeks in St. Lucia. Way more to do at disney and a whole lot more fun!

Disney
After our first trip we tried elsewhere but all of us missed WDW. Before we discovered WDW we had travelled quite a bit, even with the kids, but it's the only place they want to go.
Our eldest is 17 now, he reckons he's coming with us everytime we go no matter what. Once I tried to set up a trip to Australia, but no it had to be Caribbean Beach again.
