Lets see who the true Disney fans are? Which would you choose-Disney or tropical vac?

WDW, of course. People continually ask us why we go back every year (now twice a year) when we could go anywhere in the world. Simply because you're entertained 24 hours a day, don't have to worry about being murdered, and the food choices are wonderful. It's true we could go anywhere in the world, but the whole time I'd be pining for Disney.

Disney. I like doing stuff. Sitting around a beach bores me. I went to the Bahamas once and was bored to tears.

I'll take Disney any day.

For me it would depend on where the tropical vacation is. If it was in Hawaii or one of the islands with a lot of history, I would go for the tropical vacation. But that's mainly because I've never been and I've been to WDW a lot.

There is a lot to do in Hawaii - it's not just beaches but that is a big part of it. Polynesian cultural center on Oahu, Waimea Canyon in Kauai, Kilaua (sp?) volcano on the Big Island, whale watching cruises from any of the islands, etc. etc. Think of the Poly x 20 - never bored but also want to experience other things elsewhere- Disney being one of them.

I'm sorry Mickey...BUT...If I had a choice, I would rather be in a Tropical Island!! :sunny: I would choose Hawaii anytime over Disney. :sunny: I am just a tropical kind of gal. I do love Disney, but I love my palm trees AND COCONUT trees and those exotic flowers and exotic fruits and the island music and exotic people.
I would like to try the Disney Cruise so I can experience both worlds. And I am for sure will love it!! :)

I DID choose Disney.

Last year DH wanted to go to Hawaii and I really wanted Disney.
We made a deal, we went to Disney and will go to Hawaii on our 40th Anniversary, which is 2 years away. Problem is I want to go to WDW next year and next year....::yes::

Disney, Disney, Disney!
I do not like the beach at all. Hate the sand and have no interest in sitting on the beach. I don't even waste time at the pools when I'm at WDW. (Can you tell I'm not a water person?) I find many other enjoyable things to do when I'm at WDW. I even enjoy watching the fountain show at Epcot and listening to the music.

You mean Disney ISN'T a tropical vacation?

I like going solo to Disney. I don't believe I would enjoy a tropical vacation on my own.

I have done the Disney cruise... try that if you want both.

DW and I aren't beach people. As for sunshine, warm weather, and palm trees, they've got all that at WDW. As for fufu drinks in hollowed out pineapples: please see Polynesian resort::yes::

on our last trip we were taking the DVC tour when the guide explained that we could go just about anywhere with the DVC and my DH laughed and said "You don't understand the problem is she doesn't want to go anywhere else."

Disney , no doubt.

Fun, Fun, Fun. Can sit by a pool, go to a waterpark, or have fun in the many different parks. My family is not the type to sit on a beach and relax. :Pinkbounc

Disney! Disney! Disney!

I get bored too easily to want to lay on the beach sunning myself. Though I did enjoy our trips to Hawaii, I still think that Disney is the best vacation place in the world. There is something for everyone, including those who love to lay on the beach. Anyone who says they get bored at Disney is in need of some serious therapy. Maybe a few sessions with Dr. Goofy would help.

Wow!! Lots of true hearted Disney fans out there. I've been to Hawaii and loved Hawaii too. Not sure if we would like a cruise. Seems like you are stuck on a ship with no where to go for 4 or more days. No freedom. Would rather be in Disney where you can go whenever you want and eat whatever you want. Less restrictions.

We were invited to go to Hawaii this June with my parents who have 2 weeks of 2 bedroom timeshare time... we had to pass. We were going to be in WDW! We have not thought twice about it. I am not a lay on the beach type, I am more the repel into the cave with a 2 foot opening type... so if I had to choose between a week at the Lodge in Yellowstone or a week at WL at WDW I would have a harder time. I think WDW would still win...

Disney until the kids get older (4 1/2 and 10 months old now)

thanks

There's another place to vacation besides Disney??????:o

Well, the Epcot parking lot is exactly 116 miles from my driveway, so I can go whenever the desire hits. So I'd take a tropical vacation. I wanna do La Ruta Puuc or see the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve. Nothing can beat Walt Disney World, I've just been so many times.
