"Let's See What We Can See!"- Surviving WDW With Three Under 3! - And now... A CRUISE?! Updated 4/19!

I would have been salty too. Hopefully you got a margarita at dinner to go with that salt 😛

I don’t remember seeing this in the past? It was in the little play area right as you exited the ride. It looked super cute!
I think that used to be where Joy would meet people. I think they stopped that?!?

Haley and Mom each got a Croissant with Goat Cheese, Herbs, and Roasted Garlic.

YUM!!!!

Nana saw my face, and immediately commented, “Oooo, someone’s salty." :rolleyes2 To be honest, I totally was. However, I knew that I was partially just hangry, and I was REALLY hoping that our meal at San Angel Inn would salvage my mood!!
I would be salty as well. It's hard to sit and wait doing nothing. I love that ride but the que is too long!!! And getting hungry NEVER helps!

I hope the night got better!!!

The ride was a hit, and the kids really enjoyed looking all around the aquarium afterwards! We were in there for at least a half hour!

It is really easy to spend lot of time in here just looking around.

We took a quick peek in the butterfly garden!

I bet this was fun for the twins too.

I decided to get one of my favorite alcoholic beverages in WDW- A Gran Marnier Orange Slush!

Love this drink too! Good choice sorry it wasn't frozen.

I understood, since it was everyone’s favorite ride… but frankly, I was just SICK of hearing about this ride. :rotfl: I felt like it was all everyone could talk about, and that our day solely revolved around being able to ride this ride (and me being the planner, it was up to ME to make it happen). I understand that I am in the minority here, but I REALLY don’t get the hype around this ride. I felt like I was going to explode if I heard the words “Cosmic Rewind” one more time.

I feel the same way!

I handed Ethan off to Haley and he calmed down immediately- he just wanted his Mama. :lovestruc Nana saw my face, and immediately commented, “Oooo, someone’s salty." :rolleyes2 To be honest, I totally was. However, I knew that I was partially just hangry, and I was REALLY hoping that our meal at San Angel Inn would salvage my mood!!

I'm feeling you! I just went through this on our July trip. It's hard when you get stuck somewhere especially if you're outnumbered.

Raspberry Rose Macaron from Jolly Holiday, and it was AMAZING. It was the best macaron I had ever had and my favorite treat I tried at DLR! So
This macaron has me chasing the high all over and I have yet to find one as delicious. Maybe if I go to France...but until then I will just have to go back to DL! For the record - the chocolate chip croissant I had at Jolly Holiday has done the same thing to me, so you might want to try it there, too!

Nana saw my face, and immediately commented, “Oooo, someone’s salty."
This made me giggle. You seem to have handled it better than I would have. I hate that the ride has such a negative connotation in your mind but I can definitely now see why!

However, I knew that I was partially just hangry
Hangry always equals salty in my house. Just keep me on regular feeding times and everyone will be happier!

I thought that FOR SURE the big burst of air and scene change at the end would scare the twins
My kids are terrified! I have to block their faces!
The twins were able to catch some sleep in the stroller!
So nice when they can fall asleep in the stroller. Jackson is great with it, Savannah has wicked FOMO so she has to be REALLY tired!
A Gran Marnier Orange Slush!
Yummmm. I love these too!
it wasn’t frozen at all
What a bummer! Hopefully it still tasted good!
me being the planner, it was up to ME to make it happen
I struggle with this too! As the planner I always feel pressure to make sure things happen for people the way they want
We made our way over to the Baby Care Center so that Haley could quickly change Ethan’s diaper, and they were off at 5:00!
I agree with Haley's assessment. This one isnt as nice, however I love the BCC when my kids are just DONE and need a break. It is a good place to let them run around a bit in a contained area.
But poor Ethan just REALLY wanted some milk, and unfortunately for him, I don’t have the ability to produce it like Haley does.
Poor little guy! This is one of the reasons I was glad to have to formula feed. I was high risk stroke after the birth of both kids, and the meds I had to take to stay alive, were not breast fed friendly. Having to make sure I always had enough formula when traveling or leaving the house was stressful. Especially since Jackson was born during the formula shortage!

I would have been so made if this happened to me. I am not one to ride this type of ride and I would have been stuck with all the kids without a single thought as I worked at a daycare for 9 years. I think you handled it great.

I am in the minority too. I don't like to ride rides that I can't see from the outside (I need to prepare myself to ride roller coasters) and I think this one might make me sick too so I don't ride it.

I don’t remember seeing this in the past? It was in the little play area right as you exited the ride. It looked super cute!
You could meet Joy there briefly, if I remember correctly!

I would have been SO annoyed stuck with everyone's baggage for so long!!! I hope your dinner revived your mood!!

Oh man- I'm so sorry you had to wait around and not do something fun while everyone was on the Ride that Shall Not Be Named. :(
I hope your dinner turned out to be delicious (and that you had a yummy drink)!!
I did end up having an adult beverage- thank goodness!! It was rocky for a bit there... but as you'll see in my next update, it got sorted out thankfully :)
I would have been salty too. Hopefully you got a margarita at dinner to go with that salt 😛
Hahaha, I don't like margaritas, but I DID have a mojito! :thumbsup2
I think that used to be where Joy would meet people. I think they stopped that?!?

YUM!!!!

I would be salty as well. It's hard to sit and wait doing nothing. I love that ride but the que is too long!!! And getting hungry NEVER helps!

I hope the night got better!!!
Thankfully the night did turn around!! And YES, the line for both Tron and Cosmic Rewind is way too long for the VQ. It makes the ILL worth it because you're on the ride in like 10 minutes!!
It is really easy to spend lot of time in here just looking around.

I bet this was fun for the twins too.

I feel the same way!

I'm feeling you! I just went through this on our July trip. It's hard when you get stuck somewhere especially if you're outnumbered.
Yes!! In hindsight I definitely wish I could have just had everyone take their bags and I would've walked around in the stroller with Ethan, maybe done some shopping.... hindsight is 20/20 and I'm really hoping we have a better game plan in 2 weeks. Although I know that I'll at least have Jake to be my buddy and stay with me :lovestruc

YES it is totally chasing a macaron high!!!! The Baymax Macaron at Lucky Fortune Cookery over at DCA looks really yummy... I wanna try that on our October trip! The Snickers Macaron we had over at DLR's F&W also was delightful. California just has better macarons I guess!!

Yeah, looking back we just snacked and had sweet things all day- I needed something of actual sustenance!!! I'm really hoping we have a better game plan for this in two weeks (since Nana has informed me that she absolutely NEEDS to ride this ride TWICE on our trip... in the half-day that we have at Epcot... if she wasn't paying for the trip I'd have some choice words). At least I'll have Jake- he'll play the good husband card and stay with me if I need to watch the twins! :lovestruc
My kids are terrified! I have to block their faces!

I'm so surprised that they were able to fall asleep in the stroller- Ollie also tends to have FOMO but WDW must have totally wiped them out because they were able to sleep whenever, wherever this trip!!

Are you guys getting SO excited for your trip?? So close now!!

You hit the nail on the head- I really don't mind spending time with the kids or letting others ride this ride, it was moreso that the plan was deviated and I felt "ditched." This ride has unfortunately left a sour taste in my mouth, and I don't think I'll ride it again in 2 weeks.
You could meet Joy there briefly, if I remember correctly!

I would have been SO annoyed stuck with everyone's baggage for so long!!! I hope your dinner revived your mood!!
Thankfully the day did end up shaping up in the end!!! I'm really hoping we have a better game plan for this ride in a couple weeks!

Future Trip Updates: WDW and DLR Eats and Treats Part 1!

Hello everyone! I cannot BELIEVE that 2 weeks from today, we leave for Disney World!!

giphy.gif

Honestly, I am FLOORED that this trip came up so fast. Before our May 2024 trip, we counted down and built up to it for SO long… waiting for it felt like an eternity! But, since this September 2024 trip was a little unexpected *bonus* trip, it has felt so much more relaxed and I feel like we’ll be way more spontaneous.

This is such a welcome change. Since we just went with our big group back in May, we have way more of an idea on what to expect when traveling with 3 youngsters. Plus, since we were just in WDW a few months ago, the pressure to do ALL OF THE THINGS is really off. :thumbsup2

Especially, because in 45 days, Jake and I will also be going to DISNEYLAND for 5 nights!! We will be in California for a total of 8 nights, exploring West Hollywood and Catalina Island before we end the trip at DLR. This is our one-year anniversary trip (we got married on September 22, 2023). :lovestruc

tumblr_m8pqq03xLa1qkzw84o1_500.gif

We really have a Disney-filled fall coming up!!

I thought it would be fun to share some seasonal snacks that we plan on trying at WDW and DLR. We also booked our ADRs for DLR not too long ago!

However, to be honest, food has not been on the forefront of my mind currently. Those who read my TRs know that I am plagued with stomach issues, and unfortunately, they have really come to a head over the past month or so.

I’m not going to go into the gory details , but I’ve really been struggling with an inconsistent appetite/food intolerances as well as lots of unpleasant physical symptoms. Frankly, I have not been myself at all.

I have a doctor's appointment on September 18th, where I will hopefully get some bloodwork/other testing done and be referred to a GI specialist. I’m really hoping to have some answers to this soon. Food is my love language, so this has been really hard on me! Positive thoughts and good vibes are much appreciated. ♥️

WDW- September 24-29, 2024

Since we are going to MNSSHP, we are hoping to try ALLL of the Halloween treats! These ones look the yummiest to me!

Candy Corn Soft Serve Sundae (Only available during MNSSHP)- Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies

Spicy Pork Spring Roll (Only available during MNSSHP)- Friar’s Nook

Minnie Witch Hat (Only available during MNSSHP)- Main Street Confectionary

Iced Pumpkin Pie Latte- Joffrey’s

Grilled Masa Flatbread (Only available during MNSSHP)- Pecos Bill's

Mickey Pumpkin Soft Serve- Pineapple Lanai at the Poly

Skull Blondie (Only available during MNSSHP)- Liberty Square Market

Sinister Satay Burger (Only available during MNSSHP)- Cosmic Ray’s

The Whoopie Monster- Landscape of Flavors at AoA

Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival will be happening during our trip as well! We do have a dinner ADR for Akershus during our half-day at Epcot, so I’m thinking we’ll only have room for a couple of booths (maybe drinks/dessert after dinner)? Here are some of my top sweet picks!

Lamington- Australia

Sparkling Fig Cocktail- Tangierine Cafe (one of my all-time favorites from years past)!

Lemon Poppy Seed Cake with Lemon Icing- Earth Eats

Frozen S’mores- Festival Favorites

Cinnamon Apple and Salted Caramel Soft Serve Swirl- Swirled Showcase

Coconut Banana Cream Pie and PB&J Lattes- Joffrey’s

Fiery Dream Cocktail- China

If we didn’t have a dinner ADR, I’d DEFINITELY be hitting up the Forest and Field, Bramblewood Bites, and Hawaii booths for some savory eats. Hopefully we have some room for a late lunch to share a couple things from these booths as well!

Future Trip Updates: WDW and DLR Eats and Treats Part 2!

DLR- October 29- November 3rd, 2024

Over Labor Day weekend, I was able to book some ADRs for Jake and I’s Disneyland Trip! We have park-hoppers, so we will be doing a good amount of bouncing between DL and DCA on our park days. This is our current line-up:

October 29th (Arrival Day and Oogie Boogie Bash Evening)

GCH Craftsman Bar at 1:50 PM

This was one of our top restaurants from our trip last year, so we’re so excited to eat here again! I figure this will be a nice and convenient lunch at our resort before we head to OBB at 3:00.

October 30th (Park Day)

Blue Bayou at 2:00 PM

Honestly, Jake and I are finding it really hard to get excited about this restaurant. It is EXPENSIVE, and we’re not crazy about the menu. But, the ambience is unmatched, and I feel like this is definitely a rite-of-passage ADR!

October 31st (Resort Day)

Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween Breakfast at 8:40 AM

This place was our #1 table-service restaurant last year!!! We are suckers for breakfast buffets, and all of the food here was delicious!

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at 3:00 PM

I was SO thrilled to snag this baby up. Hopefully, this will guarantee that we have inside seating! We are so pumped to try DL’s version of Trader Sam’s, since we’ve been to the WDW location many times before!

This evening, we are also really hoping to snag a spot at the new Din Tai Fung at Downtown Disney for dinner. They don’t take ADRs, so it’ll be a last-minute Hail Mary!

November 1st (Park Day)

Carnation Cafe at 8:00 AM

This place right on Main Street USA always looks so cute and calm! And a good way to get my Mickey Waffle fix. :)

Carthay Circle at 4:30 PM

Similar to Blue Bayou, we are still a little hesitant due to the price and menu. We were planning on getting a table at the outdoor “alfresco” lounge, since that menu looks a little more our speed. But, I really want to eat inside and enjoy the ambience here… this restaurant looks BEAUTIFUL and so stylish!

November 2nd (Final Park Day)

Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Brunch Buffet at Storyteller’s Cafe- 1:00 PM

I’m really excited to check this place out, since it’s right at our hotel! The woodsy theming is perfect for fall and I want to keep the breakfast buffet love going strong!

I might cancel a couple of these the closer we get to the trip…I always try to over-book since I get so excited and want to try ALL of the restaurants!

As far as snacks go, I was SO disappointed with the line-up when it came out last month. There were so many (I repeat, SO MANY!) snacks that sounded so yummy… EXCEPT… They ALL have cream cheese frosting or are cheesecake-adjacent!!!!! :crazy2: I mean, seriously?? What does DLR have against a good old fashioned vanilla buttercream???

You all know that I DESPISE cream cheese in desserts, so sadly, that limits my options for seasonal eats. :sad2: Jake, however, is one happy camper (he loves cheesecake).

These are the fun Halloween snacks and treats that I’m hoping to try during our time at DLR!

Peanut Butter Cold Brew- Cappuccino Cart

Mickey Pumpkin Spice Cupcake- Pooh Corner

Mango-Habanero Chicken Strips- Flo’s V8 Cafe

Jack O’ Lantern Mickey Pumpkin Macaron- Jolly Holiday (this has “cheesecake” filling but looks a little less tangy than the other options?)

Pumpkin Tiramisu- Wine Country Trattoria

Blueberry Corn Dog- Little Red Wagon

Cantaloupe Agua Fresca- Rancho Del Zocalo

Autumnal Harvest Flatbread (Hold the Garlic Miso!) and the Enchanted Pumpkin Stuff - Red Rose Taverne

Taro Bread Pudding- Aunt Cass Cafe

Loaded Fries and Banana Pudding- Hungry Bear Jamboree (Hoping it’s open in time!)

Matcha Chai Madness Churro- Churros at Hollywood Land

Witch’s Hat Sundae- Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream

Asian-Inspired Pork Tacos- Studio Catering Company

Peanut Butter Chocolate Churro and Ube Soft Serve (YES!!)- Cozy Cone

Whew- that’s a lot of sugar and spice!!! Fingers crossed that my stomach is cooperating by then so I can enjoy some of these fun snacks! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Yay for upcoming trips! We're just over two weeks away from ours, it's coming up so fast.

I'm so sorry to hear about your stomach issues, hopefully the doctors can figure it out so you can enjoy all the food again!

There are so many items at food and wine this year that look amazing, I feel like they did a really good job this year with some of these additions. Definitely looking forward to Bramblewood Bites, Forest and Field, and Earth Eats. Plus a ton of others!

I'm so sorry that you've been having stomach issues. That sounds miserable.
I've never been to DL, but all those restaurants are making me want to go- it reminds me a lot of the dining we had at Disneyland Paris, though.

Sorry about your stomach issues. I hope you get some answers and things get better for you!
All of that food looks amazing!!

I have a doctor's appointment on September 18th, where I will hopefully get some bloodwork/other testing done and be referred to a GI specialist. I’m really hoping to have some answers to this soon. Elizabeth and I both have stomach issues a lot. After doing an elimination diet for Elizabeth we found that she has an issue with High Fructose Corn Syrup. This puts a bit of a damper on what she likes. She will still have some of it every once in a while but just knows she will be sick that night.

I have an issue with MSG. This took many, many years to figure out. I was told this whole time that I have IBS but I knew that wasn't it as I could the foods they told me not to eat and not get sick. It was only by chance that we figured it out. We had such a plain dinner one night and I was sick. It was just plain chicken sprinkled with rotisserie seasoning, steamed carrots and rice. Jeff put it together. The rotisserie seasoning has MSG. I can have some now after a few years but I still need to watch.

My mom also has celiacs that was misdiagnoses for like 20 years as IBS.

Stomach issues are horrible. I hope you figure out what is causing them.

Hooray for all the Disney Fall excitement coming your way!!! I'm excited for all of your ADRs at Disneyland, even if you end up canceling some, you got some amazing ones!

Sending all the good vibes and pixie dust your way for a doctor's appointment that leads to some answers for you, and allows you to enjoy every single morsel you have your hopes set on this fall!

Excited for your Disneyland plans! We LOVE Carthay Circle and feel it's 100% worth the price. Blue Bayou not so much, but I agree that the theming there is amazing and you should at least go once. Are you going to Lamplight Lounge? That's another one of our favorites!

This evening, we are also really hoping to snag a spot at the new Din Tai Fung at Downtown Disney for dinner. They don’t take ADRs, so it’ll be a last-minute Hail Mary!
Just reading through your trip report (really enjoying it!) and wanted to let you know that Din Tai Fung DOES take reservations! We just returned from our first Disneyland trip last month and were able to make Din Tai Fung reservations before we went; just not through the Disneyland app. We loved it! I love your food reviews so hoping you do a TR for your Disneyland trip as well.

Din Tai Fung Anaheim

Are you guys getting SO excited for your trip?? So close now!!
Yes! We leave a week from today! Only 4 full work days to go! I have to finish packing this weekend. I am trying to get our stuff into as few bags as possible due to traveling with 4 adults 2 kids and 2 car seats! Oh and a stroller.
Lemon Poppy Seed Cake with Lemon Icing- Earth Eats
This is like number 1 on my F&W list this year! I love lemon.
If we didn’t have a dinner ADR
we are doing an early breakfast ADR for this reason. Load up on food early, walk it off, then stuff ourselves silly the rest of the day/night!

Man oh man I started to read this earlier but knew I wouldn't have the proper time to "digest" in (see what I did there!?) so I came back to read it slowly. SOO many yummy food options. I tried not to get too excited because we will only be at the MNSSHP so all the Epcot stuff was just a tease. And same for DL - as we will be there next summer so most of this won't be around. But I do love all the options you have selected! I sincerely hope you get your stomach issues straightened out by your trips! Maybe you can at least have some licks or tastes if you aren't able to eat the entire dish.

Honestly, Jake and I are finding it really hard to get excited about this restaurant. It is EXPENSIVE, and we’re not crazy about the menu. But, the ambience is unmatched, and I feel like this is definitely a rite-of-passage ADR!
So here me out - I don't like cajun food. But this was one of the best meals we had last trip. We DID get the best table in the place so that definitely helped! But the bread was delicious and Jason and I shared a giant bowl of gumbo and it was sooo good. Now, I don't love "real" cajun food so maybe the people that don't love the menu are real cajun lovers...but we were all very happy with our food.

Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween Breakfast at 8:40 AM
I need to get Goofy's Kitchen. I can't wait to hear all about it. I imagine it to be similar to the character breakfast at Contemporary?

What does DLR have against a good old fashioned vanilla buttercream???
AGREED. Say no to cream cheese desserts!

Overall I am just counting down the days until you get to go to both coasts and compare all of it for us!

I am so hooked on this trip report! I love travelling with all my family and the little ones but it is so intense and there are so many moving parts. This trip report feels very relatable to me, so many moments of chaos intersperced with moments of magic

When you mentioned the peacefulness of an early morning at a Disney resort, I actually felt that in my bones. ❣️
