Day 4, (“The One Where We Almost Lose a Kid, Meet ALL The Characters, And Turn The Twins Into Marathon Park-Goers!”) - Part 1

TODAY WAS FINALLY MAGIC KINGDOM DAY! HOORAY!

I love all of the Disney parks so much. BUT, Magic Kingdom will always be the park closest to my heart, and the park I’m always a little *extra* excited to visit. I have so many amazing childhood memories there, and the pixie dust is overflowing at that park!

I woke up at 6:18 AM today, and I felt AMAZING. I slept all night without waking up once (which NEVER happens, even at home), and I felt so well-rested and recharged. FINALLY! It was shaping up to be an amazing day :goodvibes

Jake and I finished packing up our stuff and got ready quickly for the day. I was very happy to see that everyone followed my instructions and had Genie + all ready and purchased in MDE!

At 7:00, my first order of business was to get us in the Tron Virtual Queue. I was able to get Cici, Chief, Haley, Ryan, Jake, Mom, and I in Boarding Group 30!

However, I was actually not happy about this. 1. This was due to be called smack-dab in the middle of our 10:25 AM brunch ADR at Crystal Palace :( 2. This was due way before Cici and Chief were due to arrive at the park (they were flying in from Charleston this morning and set to arrive at the parks later in the afternoon). 3. I hadn’t fully thought through the logistics of how we were going to be able to take turns riding and watching the kids. So, I wasn’t fully optimistic that we were going to be able to use the VQ.

I also was able to get us a Genie + for Peter Pan’s Flight from 2:10-3:10! I was excited for the twins to be able to ride this!

Jake and I were all set to go and left the room at 7:15 AM. Bye CSR! You were lovely! We will definitely be back- we’ll just check the convention schedule next time. :thumbsup2

We still had some chunks of leftover Gideon’s Cookies in the fridge, and I certainly didn’t want to throw them away (that would be crime against cookies)! So, I stacked them up in a to-go coffee cup and decided that these would be my breakfast on the bus ride over to Magic Kingdom.

We stopped by bell services to have them transfer our luggage over to POFQ, and we were on an MK bus by 7:25 AM!

Breakfast of champions!

We pulled into MK at 7:45 AM, and all was right in the world.

Nothing beats this view! We definitely wanted to take a ride on the train now that it was finally open again.

We were let into the park right away, and headed straight for Fantasyland! Jake had never ridden 7 Dwarves Mine Train before, so that was our rope-drop priority this morning!

It was still very early and it felt nice and cool without too much sun. I always love seeing the castle and Main Street USA for the first time. :lovestruc The music on Main Street USA makes my heart swell; it totally brings out my inner child! Out of all the “lands” at MK, Main Street USA is definitely my favorite.

Jake and I reached the rope at Fantasyland/Tomorrowland, and we were definitely towards the front, but people were filling in quickly behind us!

That girl with the pink dress and hair bow is OUTFIT GOALS.

As people were starting to fill in, we were getting more and more claustrophobic. :scared: I really didn’t start becoming a “rope drop” person until a couple years ago, and I always forget how torturous the wait is!! The air seems to disappear and I get sweatier and sweatier. ::yes::

There was a guy behind us that just kept moving closer and closer, slightly pushing his stroller into our ankles try to to inch us forward. We scooted right out of there and chose a different spot. Ain't no way that we were going to let that guy use his stroller as a battering ram against us!!

They opened the rope two minutes late at 8:32 (trust me, every second counts when you’re stuck in a sea of people  ), and we made a beeline for 7DMT!

Jake and I entered the line in no time, and only had to wait about 10 minutes. As soon as we jumped in line, the wait time skyrocketed to 70 minutes!!!

No ride photo again this time :( I feel like we lost so many on-ride pictures this trip! Jake was very happy to have finally crossed 7DMT off his list, but claimed that he would NEVER wait even close to 70 minutes to ride this! I 100% agree; the ride is fun and smooth but not my favorite. I’m weird and prefer Snow White’s Scary Adventures. :rotfl:

It was 8:49 AM when we hopped off, so we headed to Space Mountain! We wanted to try to squeeze in alllll the “thrill” rides before the fam arrived!

I took this picture in line for Space, but I cannot for the LIFE of me tell what this is supposed to be?? Any sleuths want to crack this case for me? :rotfl2:

We waited about 20 minutes for this, and as always, it was a great ride!

Jake said, “I really gotta figure out where these ride photos are.”

After we got off Space Mountain, it was about 9:25 AM, so we decided to call my mom to figure out what the rest of the fam was up to!

They were having a great morning so far exploring AoA!

Mom explained that they were letting the kids pick out some toys at the gift shop, and were planning to hop on a bus to Magic Kingdom in the next 15 minutes or so. We also talked through some logistics with Tron, and concluded that we were probably not going to be able to use the virtual queue, since our Boarding Group was on track to be called smack-dab in the middle of brunch. Jake and I decided to bite the bullet and purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for Tron from 5:05-6:05 PM, then the rest of the crew decided that they’d try for Tron on our other Magic Kingdom day.

This was a huge relief for Jake and I; Tron was one of Jake’s “absolutely must-do’s” of the trip, and I’m so happy we were going to be able to get on it without worrying about the VQ. We figured we had time for one more ride, so we headed though the hub to Frontierland!

Our destination was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! The line stated that it was 20 minutes long, but we figured it would be shorter. Sure enough, we were on it in 10!

After we disembarked, we figured that we should head back to Main Street, since the fam was now on the bus ride over. I wanted to be the first to greet everyone on our first park day! Plus, I was DYING to see the kid’s reaction to Cinderella’s Castle!

We still had a bit of time before they arrived, so Jake and I grabbed some PhotoPass pictures!

UGH, I wish someone would have told me that my bike shorts were showing. :rotfl: And that there was an annoying guy photobombing us.

We originally told the family to meet us by Tony’s Town Square, but I was worried that they’d enter the park on the wrong side and we’d miss them. So, we set up camp right by the train station!

At 10:10 AM, Haley, Ryan, Nana, and the 3 kids officially arrived!!!

The twins were so excited to show us their new treasures! Evie got a set of Little Mermaid figurines, and Ollie had gotten some new Pixar cars!

We rushed down Main Street USA, and I was so excited, I could hardly stand it. FINALLY! After all of this planning, we were here!! I excitedly tried to grab a picture of their reaction to Cinderella’s Castle…

Hmmmm…. Not impressed. :rotfl:

This was a very common theme throughout the trip. The twins would be so excited and enthralled, but have stoic poker faces. This was most common on all of the rides- I think they were just trying to take everything in!!

We still had a few minutes before our ADR time, so we absolutely HAD to get some PhotoPass shots while everyone was still neat and clean. :thumbsup2

These are some of my absolute favorite pictures of the trip. We all look so excited and happy to be there!

We also caught some of Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire!

The kids were SOOOO excited, and Evie got a little overstimulated. Haley could tell that she was hungry and maybe a little dehydrated; they had not eaten breakfast yet this morning because of our brunch! So, we headed right over to Crystal Palace to check in!

Loving your trip reports, your style of writing is amazing. The photos are awesome. Loved reading your first few reports & look forward to the remainder of your trip.

Jake was very happy to have finally crossed 7DMT off his list, but claimed that he would NEVER wait even close to 70 minutes to ride this! I 100% agree; the ride is fun and smooth but not my favorite. I’m weird and prefer Snow White’s Scary Adventures.
SAME! I loved Snow White's Scary Adventures as a kid!

I'm loving all the family pics - you all look so excited and ready to have fun! Your trip report so far is awesome and only making me more excited for my August upcoming trip every time I see an update!

I think #1 on our list for next time is Alaska  We're thinking maybe summer 2025 or 2026.
I think a Septermber 2025 Disney Wonder Alaska cruise would be perfect for you guys......not because I will be there or anything :rotfl2:
Magic Kingdom will always be the park closest to my heart, and the park I’m always a little *extra* excited to visit
Same! No matter how much it evolves it will always have a happy nostalgia feel!
I was very happy to see that everyone followed my instructions and had Genie + all ready and purchased in MDE!
Yay Team! Good work everyone!
It is essentially a stale donut right? Donuts are made for breakfast so no issues here lol.
The air seems to disappear and I get sweatier and sweatier.
So I just saw a hack on tiktok about putting deodorant on your hair line to prevent sweat running down your face. I am half tempted to try and half feel like this person who posted this is out to get me to make a fool of myself.
There was a guy behind us that just kept moving closer and closer, slightly pushing his stroller into our ankles try to to inch us forward.
This is so friggin rude! It wont get you there any faster!
Jake and I entered the line in no time, and only had to wait about 10 minutes.
That is amazing!
Jake said, “I really gotta figure out where these ride photos are.”
haha such a newbie lol. That said, I have NO CLUE where the guardians photo is lol.

That girl with the pink dress and hair bow is OUTFIT GOALS.
I said the same thing in my head before I even saw your comment.
I’m weird and prefer Snow White’s Scary Adventures. :rotfl:
I wish I could remember this ride from when I went when I was younger. I only remember 3 from MK. Space Mountain only because I was 10 and I refused to ride so I dad left me to go on the Astro Orbiter by myself and then meet them at the exit of Space. Not my dad's finest parenting moment. Then Him and my step mom made me go on Thunder Mountain and they had me sit in between them ( I was small for a 10 year old. I am only 4'9" as an adult). This was my first roller coaster and I swore to never ride another. My butt never stayed in the seat. Thankfully as I got over I got over some of that fear.
We still had a bit of time before they arrived, so Jake and I grabbed some PhotoPass pictures!
I love your outfit! You have the pink dress and hair bow outfit goals going one yourself.
These are some of my absolute favorite pictures of the trip. We all look so excited and happy to be there!
They got some great pictures of the family.

"Give Up The Funk" for 3 out of the 4 times we rode Mission: Breakout
We rode it 4 times and it never once changed songs! I had no idea that was a thing until we got home and I was reading on these boards. Ha!

Sounds like a wonderful morning but I agree, the rope-dropping is not for the faint of heart (or dainty ankles). Over the years we have done it less and less because it is intense! It IS worth the lower wait times, though!

I love the stone-cold reactions on their faces. I had to go back and find this one of Scarlett from our first trip. Almost all our photos were like this!
PhotoPass_Visiting_Disneys_Hollywood_Studios_7534713460.jpg

Those initial photopass family photos are awesome! So fresh and energetic!

I loved your rope drop strategy- because it's exactly what we do! We were "late" on this last trip because of a snafu with DH and the bus... So we went straight to Space instead of 7 Dwarves... And then Space was Down, so Buzz it was!
Ah, kids- they are so excited about the littlest thing but Oh- a castle... LOL
Can't wait to hear about your brunch. We ate there on DH's first trip, so it holds a special place in my heart! <3

BUT, Magic Kingdom will always be the park closest to my heart, and the park I’m always a little *extra* excited to visit.

MK is my favorite! It's the hardest park for me to say goodbye to.

I also was able to get us a Genie + for Peter Pan’s Flight from 2:10-3:10! I was excited for the twins to be able to ride this!

Good choice. I'm still salty it will be closed when we're there next week. I think the boys would have loved it.

So, I stacked them up in a to-go coffee cup and decided that these would be my breakfast on the bus ride over to Magic Kingdom.

These are great pictures of you two. Love your dress.

Hmmmm…. Not impressed. :rotfl:

These are some of my absolute favorite pictures of the trip. We all look so excited and happy to be there!

Great pictures of everyone excited for the start of your family trip.

Love the group pics in front of the castle! You guys look so happy and excited 😊
Thank you so much!! We were all on such a "first day high" :)
Oh my gosh, I had to look for him, kind of like "Where's Waldo" but once I spotted him I couldn't un-see him!!!
UGH, I know!!! The first time I saw this picture, I was like, "hmmmm... something looks off..." Then I noticed him :rolleyes2 Seriously, people need to realize that you are NOT BEING FUNNY OR CREATIVE by photobombing pictures!! You're just ruining what could have been a nice picture!
Loving your trip reports, your style of writing is amazing. The photos are awesome. Loved reading your first few reports & look forward to the remainder of your trip.
Thank you so much for the kind words :) I truly love writing these so much, and it makes me so happy that people like reading what I've wrote!
SAME! I loved Snow White's Scary Adventures as a kid!

I'm loving all the family pics - you all look so excited and ready to have fun! Your trip report so far is awesome and only making me more excited for my August upcoming trip every time I see an update!
HAHA, to be clear, I did NOT like Snow White's Scary Adventures as a kid (I was absolutely terrified)! But, I love its weirdly dark energy now

Thank you so much!! AHHHHH you're getting so close! I love reading TRs before a trip as well to hype myself up!! :goodvibes

Ooooooooo OK, OK... Alaska DCL September 2025 might have to happen... :poop: I just wish DCL wasn't so expensive!! I've heard Holland America also has great Alaska itineraries, and its tempting because they're half the price!

Ok I really want to try the deodorant hack too  I always get the worst sweat on my face (particularly my upper lip). I'd have a deodorant mustache :rotfl:

Also OMG how is your nose doing?? I'm following along with your saga on Insta and sending all the healing vibes!!! ♥️
I said the same thing in my head before I even saw your comment.

They got some great pictures of the family.
Hahaha, thank you so much!! The dress is from Heruniverse.com and it comes in a bunch of other prints too! It was surprisingly SO comfortable and light (especially because this day was TOASTY). This is a PERFECT dress for the parks!

I feel you on being traumatized by MK rides... on my first trip (at 6 years old), my parents dragged Haley and I on Alien Encounter. :scared: I bounced back relatively quickly, but Haley was scarred for LIFE! Lol!
We rode it 4 times and it never once changed songs! I had no idea that was a thing until we got home and I was reading on these boards. Ha!

WHAT OMG that's crazy you never changed songs :rotfl: Talk about bad (or good?) luck!! What song was it??

I laughed out loud at the picture  We have SO many pictures just like this from our trip!!
I loved your rope drop strategy- because it's exactly what we do! We were "late" on this last trip because of a snafu with DH and the bus... So we went straight to Space instead of 7 Dwarves... And then Space was Down, so Buzz it was!

Hahaha Ollie much preferred the Cars shower curtain over at AoA than the castle :rotfl:Silly kids!!

Brunch was the absolute PERFECT start to the trip, and the food was delish!! Can't wait to share!!
MK is my favorite! It's the hardest park for me to say goodbye to.

:rotfl2:

Great pictures of everyone excited for the start of your family trip.
Same here!! I always tear up a little bit when I leave MK for the last time on a trip!!

Jake and I had really good luck with our rope-drop options this trip! It was tough getting up so early, but SO worth it!!

Thank you so much!! I'm going to copy and past what I said to @piglet1979 above- The dress is from Heruniverse.com and it comes in a bunch of other prints too! It was surprisingly SO comfortable and light (especially because this day was TOASTY). This is a PERFECT dress for the parks!

Day 4, (“The One Where We Almost Lose a Kid, Meet ALL The Characters, And Turn The Twins Into Marathon Park-Goers!”) - Part 2

Where I last left off, the rest of the family had just arrived at MK, and we were checking in for our 10:25 AM brunch at Crystal Palace! Haley and Evie ran off to Adventureland to grab a bottle of water, and Ollie was perfectly content playing with his cars while we waited…

Crystal Palace let us know that it would be a bit of a wait, and we ended up waiting about 15 minutes. We were seated at 10:40 AM!

I was so excited to be back! This was one of our priority ADRs; when it’s someone’s first time at Disney World, I feel like it is a rite of passage to do breakfast at Crystal Palace! Plus, we thought that it would be smart to do a character meal right away and see how the kids would react to character meets.

It had been sooooo long since we’ve eaten here (2017!!). We looooove breakfast buffets and we were all very hungry and ready to eat!

We got our drink orders in right away! I asked for POG, but the waitress said that they were out :( Pretty much everyone got mimosas except me- I just got plain OJ because champagne gives me a headache sometimes and I knew it was critical to stay hydrated today!

As soon as we placed our drink orders, Tigger hopped over!!

Then, two minutes later, Piglet stopped by!!

The kids LOVED the characters. LOVED THEM. They were so interactive and smiley- touching their fur and hanging on their every action! I had a feeling that characters would be a highlight of the trip, and this definitely confirmed my suspicion! :goodvibes

Ethan got to join the party too!!

Imagine waking up from your peaceful nap to a giant, fuzzy, neon orange figure directly in front of your face. Nightmare fuel!

It looked like Eeyore was still a ways away, so we all made a mad dash for the buffet! Crystal Palace had an amazing selection. Everything looked incredible! If you’ve read my past TRs you know that at breakfast buffets, I like to do a “sweet plate” and a “savory plate.”

Here was my savory plate!

Clockwise from the top: bacon and sausage atop a bed of grits, cheesy potato casserole, and a biscuit topped with sausage gravy.

And my sweet plate!

Churro Mickey waffles and a piece of blueberry coffee cake with a big side of maple syrup :)

The blueberry coffee cake was really dry, but I loved everything else. The Churro Mickey waffles reminded me a lot of the churro french toast sticks I had with my mom on our departure day a couple days prior back in Milwaukee! As always, the cheesy potato casserole here is freakin’ amazing. It’s packed with onions (which I paid for later and had to take Tums), but it’s 100% #worthit.

Haley fed Ethan while we were all getting our first plates, then we took turns holding him while she ate her food. He was ALL SMILES :lovestruc He looked so adorable in his Winnie the Pooh outfit.

Of course, he had a blowout about 10 minutes after this picture was taken, so he was changed out of the now literally Pooh-y outfit into a Mickey Mouse onesie. :rotfl:

His face got a little red from our pool day yesterday, despite being completely in the shade the entire time!! We felt sooo bad and vowed to do better at keeping his hat on and keeping him out of the sun.

As we expected, our Tron Boarding group was called right when we started eating. Haley, Ryan, and my mom said that we wouldn’t worry about it, and they’d ride it sometime later in the trip. It would feel weird splitting up right after getting to the park! Right at 11:00, I made us another Genie + for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 12:40- 1:40 PM. We wanted to keep the Winnie the Pooh love going today!

At 11:15, Jake disappeared for a few minutes and came back up with a plate of desserts for us all to sample, saying that they had started setting out the lunch food! My kinda man. ::yes:: You don’t have to tell me twice!

Clockwise from the top: dirt cake shooter, warm brownie skillet, carrot cake, and almond layer cake. I took bites of a couple of the desserts, but to be honest, none of them really impressed me. Our overwhelming favorite was the warm brownie skillet with M&Ms and walnuts. I still had some room, so I went up and got a few lunch options for myself to pick on!

Clockwise from the top: slice of cheese pizza (yes I am a child), mac and cheese, a chicken tender with hot honey sauce, and a small bowl of vanilla soft-serve. My mom saw my soft-serve and immediately grabbed a bowl for herself! The stand-out of this dish was definitely the chicken- the hot honey had such a great flavor and the chicken itself was high-quality! I wish I had been hungry enough to have more of it!

We gave the kids some bathroom breaks and were at Crystal Palace until 12:00. Despite being there for almost an hour and a half, Pooh and Eeyore never came by :guilty: We weren’t too torn up about it; we wanted to get the show on the road and finally ride some rides! Overall, everyone loved our meal at Crystal Palace. It was a perfect, relaxing way to start out our first park day!

We headed to Fantasyland via Cinderella’s Castle!

First stop- Sir Mickey’s to get pixie-dusted!

Haley and I had been deliberating our first ride of the trip for awhile. Since our Genie + reservations didn’t start until later, we knew that we had to pick something with a reasonable stand-by. Journey of the Little Mermaid had a 45-minute standby, but it looked shorter, so we thought we’d try our luck and see how the kids did with their first time waiting in line!

About 5 minutes into the line, I thought we were in trouble. Ollie was doing a great job and staying near the adults. But Evie was SOOO excited and just running/eloping like crazy. She would NOT stand still and one of us kept having to cut people in line to retrieve her. At one point, I said to Haley, “We should have gotten her a leash.” ::yes:: (And I say that with ABSOLUTELY no judgment as an ABA provider. Safe is best!!). The wait ended up being about 25 minutes, but it kind of felt like an eternity.

Finally, our first ride of the trip!! The kids both LOVE Ariel, so we knew that it would be a hit! Mom and I rode with Oliver while Haley and Ryan took Evie. Evie was enthralled and smiling the whole time, but Mr. Ollie had his strong poker face out again!

stare-blank.gif

We then used our Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Genie +. This went much quicker, and the kids loved this one as well!

In line, I made a Genie + for It’s a Small World at 1:10 (AKA, starting immediately)! My mom had been dying to get the kids on this ride, she knew for sure that they would be engrossed!!

We took a bathroom break near Bonjour Village Gifts and shopped around for a bit.

LOOK at this precious Aurora dress! I’m always so envious that I can’t fit into princess dresses like these anymore. :rotfl:

I led us out of New Fantasyland and into Old Fantasyland. I pretended to be a VIP tour guide and held up my water bottle so the group could keep track of me.

Chillin’ in Fantasyland with Dada :)

Oliver also asked to be carried while in line. How can you deny that request? :goodvibes

Right before we got on IASW, Cici texted us and said that she was entering Magic Kingdom now!! Yay!! She explained that Chief was dropping off their bags at Marriott Grande Vista and would be there a bit later. We told her that we’d meet her by IASW once we got off!

As we disembarked, the clock struck 1:45! We spotted Cici at the exit and had big hugs all around.

The kids were definitely starting to lose steam at this point, so we decided to give them a snack and try to have them do a “rest time” in the stroller. First nap time in a Disney park… let’s see how this goes!! :scared:

Hi! I am working on getting caught up!!!

It’s not an Epcot festival if you don’t eat food off of a trash can at least once! Also AHHHHH my fork is touching the trash can, I can’t unsee it now.
Isn't that the worst, seeing soemthing in your picture that you wish you had noticed at the time! Ha! you survived to tell the tale, at least.

The ribs were also surprisingly tender and moist with great savory flavor.
I was slightly under whelmed by these. I might have gotten a bad batch.

I spotted these crew necks everywhere around WDW, and I regretfully did not purchase one :( I couldn’t decide between Piglet and Eeyore!
I have learned to buy things when I see it if I really want it, since you may never see it again. But I know what you mean about not sure which to get.

He stated that he was really nervous when he first got the portion, because it looked NASTY! But, he said that it actually tasted very good and he was pleasantly surprised, especially with it being theme park duck.
We got that as well. It def didn't look good. very brown! blek.

We really wanted to go in and watch the Reflections of China movie, but it was standing-room only with no seating?? Weird??
When Andy and I went to food & wine by ourselves, we got in the waiting area to see the show and I remembered that you had to stand the whole time and we bailed.

EEEK! It was time! Would I love it? Or would I end up getting sick and hating my life? You’ll find out in the next update!!
At least you had decided to go back after.

It didn’t help that, even with the virtual queue, this line is long, with a VERY unnecessarily long pre-show.
It is soooo long! And they make you do all of it even in the extended hours.

Then, Jake and I heard the beautiful opening chords of “September” start.
YEAH!!!!!!!

It was honestly one of my Top 5 magical moments on a Disney trip ever. I almost cried!! We were so happy to get “our song!”
I love it!!!

I’m SO glad I tried it once, but it’s not a ride I would need to do over and over again!
I don't think I could ride it more than once in a day.

To drink, I ordered the Scottish Thistle from the UK beer cart. This was Ford’s Gin with lemon and blackcurrant-cucumber syrup.
I am made I didn't this...

Haley responded, “Oh, it’s fine, except for the minor issue that Evie swallowed a penny this afternoon.”
That is a mom of 3 kids if I ever heard one. So non-challant about it.

Needless to say, that kind of dampened their Day Zero!!
Man! Kids!!! they keep things intresting for sure!

Molly,

I'm thoroughly enjoying your trip report! It's a walk down memory lane for me in lots of ways. I went back to read your pre-trip report and when I saw the Hilton Head tag on your wall I thought, "These are my people!" but when you showed the car rental for your multi-family trip, that sealed it. I raised 3 kids and had one of those 3 row Suburbans, and I loved that thing SO much. With 2 bench back seats, if needed, I could have the oldest sit with me up front (once he was old enough) and each kid would have his own row. I would take out the 3rd row seat and pack us all up to spend 2 weeks in Hilton Head, bicycles included, with plenty of space. It was fantastic.

My kids grew up going to WDW regularly and we've stayed at the Disney resort in HHI, also. I'm beginning to plan a trip for next July :scared1: for my bonus-granddaughter's 13th birthday - it will be her first trip to WDW. My daughter and I are planning a trip for this October and will be going to MNSSHP. We've not been to once since before the pandemic.

Making memories with the teeny family members is so, so wonderful.

I am all caught up!!!

That jacket is adorable!

I love the way this area looks, but itsn't that the one the farthest away?

Casitas area was our favorite. We really liked the “fancy” look to it, the water features, and its proximity to the pool/restaurants.
I think that is where we were and it was a good area to be location wise.

But, I didn’t really like the fit of it, so it went back on the shelf.
It is cute!

I simultaneously “awwww’ed” and laughed. #1. WHAT a dedicated DISboards husband :lovestruc 2. Stop being such a germ freak, ya weirdo  Jake was elbows-deep in his food as soon as I took a picture!
ha! He is trained well.

We called my mom on her way out, and she said that she was in an Uber on the way to AoA (she couldn't fit in Haley and Ryan's rental van with all of their luggage).
Poor mom

mmediately, once Ollie saw all of the Cars decorations, he yelled, “WHOAH, RACECARS!!” :lovestruc My mom immediately started crying out of happiness. :rotfl:It was going to be a LOOONG week. ::yes::
I am sure she loved every minute of the trip!

This looks soo cute.

They felt that the room was way too expensive for what they got (I want to say that they paid about $600 for their one night stay), and that it felt cheap and small.
Interesting. they are def not cheep rooms!

It was so hot, so I dunked myself underwater a good amount. I tried to listen for the music, but I didn’t hear any!
Someone in a trip report here said they found out they stopped doing it. Lifeguards couldn't tell if someone was drowning or just trying to listen to the music.... possibly....

Jake and I understood of course, but honestly, we were stumped. We had been so excited to eat at Three Bridges that we didn’t really have a back-up dinner option for tonight. We decided to head back to El Mercado and investigate!
We had this problem too! The one night was packed and then the next night it was empty!!! The convention was gone!

Honestly, I think this put the final nail in the coffin for CSR. Once again, this area was absolutely SWARMED with cheer groups and their families. It was stressful just being there! I quickly filled up my resort mug with some Sprite and we noped right outta there.

My poke bowl was also INCREDIBLE. There was this coconut-lime sauce that made it the perfect blend of sweet and savory. I hate that I’m even saying this, but it was my favorite poke bowl that I’ve ever had- and I’ve been to 3 islands in Hawaii. 5 stars for Three Bridges!
I had this as well! So good! And totally not what you would expect to eat at Disney.

Even though Jake and I didn’t really feel like drinking, we knew that we at least had to stop into Dahlia Lounge!
YEAH!!!!

I HATE boarding groups for this reason!!! I am looking forward to the new system. But wish they would get rid of boarding groups. You wait to wait in line.

As people were starting to fill in, we were getting more and more claustrophobic. :scared: I really didn’t start becoming a “rope drop” person until a couple years ago, and I always forget how torturous the wait is!! The air seems to disappear and I get sweatier and sweatier
I don't love ACTUALLY rope dropping

There was a guy behind us that just kept moving closer and closer, slightly pushing his stroller into our ankles try to to inch us forward. We scooted right out of there and chose a different spot. Ain't no way that we were going to let that guy use his stroller as a battering ram against us!!
Why are people so rude!

Great photo!

These are some of my absolute favorite pictures of the trip. We all look so excited and happy to be there!
And also a great photo!!!!

Yeah DCL Is so pricy, but so worth it! I am going with three friends. My hubby and kids are staying home lol. My mom went on Holland and it was an "older" crowd, so that is the only downfall with them, and probably why it is half the price!

Nose is doing ok. They got the bump out, but it still isn't straight. So I have to wait 6 months and see how it is then. I may need a full rhinoplasty. The good news, since it is injury related, insurance should cover it.
cheesy potato casserole here is freakin’ amazing
Probably my favorite Disney food!
His face got a little red from our pool day yesterday, despite being completely in the shade the entire time!!
Awww poor little guy. Jackson gets red easily too, thankfully he isn't too bothered by it, but we are trying to do better with the sunscreen with him.
warm brownie skillet with M&Ms and walnuts.
This sounds soooooo good!
“We should have gotten her a leash.”
I have one for both kids lol. We attach Savannah's to the stroller and she holds it while walking beside it since I can't hold her hand. Jackson however, despite the CP will probably want to walk this next trip and he WILL have that thing attached to his wrist and mine!
LOOK at this precious Aurora dress!
This was what S made a BEE LINE towards when we did BBB! I say this is why I had a daughter, to get her all the princess stuff I could not have when I was a kid and does not fit now :rotfl2:

As always, the cheesy potato casserole here is freakin’ amazing
This LOOKED amazing! I also love onions!

Jake disappeared for a few minutes and came back up with a plate of desserts for us all to sample, saying that they had started setting out the lunch food! My kinda man.
He is a keeper. He knows what matters.

Despite being there for almost an hour and a half, Pooh and Eeyore never came by
This made me sad for you! Where were they!? I would have been more sad but then again, you had a whole trip ahead of you so no sense in letting it bring you down.

I’m always so envious that I can’t fit into princess dresses like these anymore.
Same. They are all so realistic!

I pretended to be a VIP tour guide and held up my water bottle so the group could keep track of me
This made me laugh. You are even wearing a sort of plaid!

Looks like a wonderful morning at MK!

That food looks delicious! My kids are big now, but I still might need to bring them there again! (Actually, I don't think my youngest *has* been there...

One time my oldest threw a fit in the Little Mermaid line. We still don't know if he was scared or what, but I still think of it every time I'm in that line. I can just picture Evie running amok!

Ah, stroller nap days. <3

I'm caught up again! I'm glad your CP brunch had a lot of great food offerings and that the kids loved the characters! It's such a hit or miss on whether or not it goes well. I'm relieved that it wasn't a situation where one liked them/the other didn't.

Little Mermaid is a nice first ride choice! But definitely sounds like Genie Plus was a good call. It's hard for adults to stand in line, much less a little one.

Loved the coffee to-go cup full of Gideon's cookies. That's the stuff of dreams. :rotfl:
