Lets be fair here!!!!!!

Oh my gosh, another SSR thread! Oh what the hay, I'll play!

1) Love the room decor
2) Love that there is a desk in the master bedroom (Dh is a writer)
3) Walk to downtown Disney
4) Artists Palatte-- love it-- both the food and the easels to draw on
5) Zero entry pool with two slides, spacious hot tub
6) Disney horses in kids area
7) Classical music in lobby
8) Parking close to room
9) Beds amazingly comfortable
10) amazing spa
11) Bike rentals
12) Quiet relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere (this should be #1 actually)
13) Reasonable maintenance fees (for now) and 12 extra years

What we love about SSR in no particular order:

1) Beautiful upscale room decor
2) Close to DD
3) Parking close to our unit when we rent a car
4) AP selections and the easels on the tables for the children
5) The Spa
6) The beautiful grounds
7) Community Hall
8) Comfortable Beds
9) Pool
10) Peacefulness of the resort
11) How happy it makes my Dad when we are all there together (He bought this for his grandchildren to enjoy). A very generous gift!!
12) Staff have always been very nice and very helpful

And from my 5 year old:earsboy::
13) the pool and big slide is awesome
14) cool gameroom
15) drawing while eating breakfast (at AP)
16) playground at CP
17) the store
18) the pull out couch (yup that was "cool" to him)

...okay so he loved EVERYTHING about SSR.......he was not nearly as taken with the GF or Poly! :)

Thanks for this thread, Dave.

Our children are 18 and 21. With the close proximity to DTD, we or they can walk over for the evening, and walk back to our rooms whenever we want. Taking a bus during the day to the parks is to be expected, but it's nice to not have to wait for a bus late at night.

First of all I can't believe I'm willingly posting on one of Daitcher's threads.

;) No offense!! ;)

Daitcher, By starting this thread you have restored my faith in all of man kind.

My fav-o-rites are:

:) I love parking my car right next to my room.

:) A short walk to Earl's.

:) I work hard and life flies by at worp speed, we need the relaxing, quite peace of SSR while on Vacation.

:) 5 minute walk to shopping......does a girl need to say more.

:) I love that I can still jump in my car and, taking the back way, still be at the poly for dinner in 15 minutes!!

:) Very little of anything is dripped in easter egg colors. :)

:) I, also, love the upscale room decor.

:) Love that in a couple of years, my kids can get themselves to DQ and back safely, while DH and I enjoy a cocktail on the balcony.

:) Did I mention Earl's.....

:) The fact that my kids/grandkids will have a 12 extra DVD years.
I would love to hear in heaven some day "How cool was grandma"!!!

...PRICELESS!

I won't repeat what everyone else said (although I agree with all of it), but I'll add a couple of things:

:) The little semi-circular walkway through the flower garden next to Congress Park (towards DTD).

:) The huge fountain in the lake at the Paddock.

:) The DTD overlook (even if they have eliminated the fireworks).

:) All of the food at Artist Pallete.

:) The hidden Mickeys in the villas.

Rozzie, I really appreciate that. Also, Saratoga Lager is great! Living in Saratoga, I take it for granted but it is good......... I'm gonna get me one now! :drinking1

DAVE

SAratoga Lager! How did I miss that? Soon as I saw who started this post I had to jump in. If you guys get banned I'll start a boycot!

Thanks for the thread DAVE!.

We love SSR for the following "Top 10" reasons:

1. Great Rooms - we love the furniture and colors

2. DTD Views - I think these views are some of the best at WDW!

3. Great pool theme - two slides and Zero entry!

4. Small town feel of the "village" area

5. The Springs area is close to the pool!

6. Close to DTD

7. Good bus service (except for Epcot)

8. Great trails for walking

9. Community Hall

10. Beautiful grounds with fountains and views of DTD!

Things I love about SSR!

Dave (Daitcher) & B^3.

And 12 extra years of Dave & B^3.

-Tony

What we love about SSR is the 12 extra years "without" a couple of the bashers. :rotfl2: That is one feature that I am sure will be priceless. :thumbsup2

We find that we love the spa, gym, pool area and the whole laid back feeling of this resort. When I/we feel the need to be close to MK or Epcot we choose to stay on a monorail resort.

Please copy and paste this over to the board monitors. Kep the SSR love flowing.

Thanks for the love,

DAVE

Let's start an email campaign, we'll get the "D" in DIS to stand for Daitcher.

IMHO the decor of the rooms are the most beautiful of any of the DVC room.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the walking paths around the resort.

The view I had from my room of the Empress Lilly and DTD across the lake has to be the most beautiful view from any room in all of WDW.

I love standing in the middle of a huge crowd in the middle of DD, looking across the water at SSR, and knowing that I have that peaceful, beautiful place to head back to as soon as I tire of the throng.

I also have to say I'm impressed with the dishes and other kitchen implements. My husband cooked us some great meals there, and we had everything we needed. Even nice wine glasses.

Finally, that's the only truly comfortable pull-out bed I've ever seen. And I appreciate the nice Disney touch of putting the trunk/coffee table on wheels so you don't have to bring in three people to move it out of the way when opening the bed.

SSR's saving grace:

Oven-roasted loin of bacon in a mist glaze served with braised cabbage and creamed potato - Pint of Smithwick's - Fine Irish folk-music - all in close proximity at Raglan Road.

Many things noted above...I only add:
-Some of the fastest elevators I have been in (under 5 stories)
-One clean public bathroom - I had to go (bad) and I was in the main pool. Man I hate the feeling of being barefoot and wet in a public bathroom...kind a germ thing... Well the bathroom heading towards the Spa was awesome - so clean I think I could have laid down on the floor and not had a germ freak episode. -Steve

so we have

fast elevators

12 years (although that really isn't a comment about the resort as much as a comment about the contract)

Earls

cool.....................

You guys are making a strong case. (of beer that is)

Well what more do you want Dave?

Eat a sandwich at Earl's before you drink that case of Saratoga lager (can't drink on an empty stomach) Take the very fast elevator to every floor in the building before finally finding your room. Throw up on the way to aforementioned room.....but don't worry cause they can just hose down that concrete walkway! Finally, pass out on the most comfortable sleeper sofa on WDW property (Unless you are boatboatboat.....he would be passing out at an "offsite" hotel) :p
