That day started a little too roughly for my taste.
I was sound asleep, but Grumpy and SewingKit, I mean, Jesse, were already up. Apparently someone opened a pack of cookies or something, the noise scared the bejesus out of me, and I jumped from the bed, yelling "qu'est ce que c'est????!!!!!!!!!" ("what is it??"). Well, I TRIED to jump from the bed, but see I was sleeping on the side that is closer to the wall, plus I was rolled into my sheet, and so when I tried to "jump" I ended up getting tangled in the sheet and slamming myself against the wall.
Good morning to you,too.
Of course the other two thought it was hilarious, and I got quite a few "I'm gonna open this pack of chips now, don't throw yourself into the wall!" or "I am now going to touch this plastic bag, but it-will-not-hurt-you." through the week...
Today was Seaworld day. For Jesse. Who loves Seaworld. Not for us. Who are sick to death of it. Jesse dragged me there at least four times this summer when we were staying on iDrive. I used to like Seaworld quite a bit but once or twice a year is enough thankyouverymuch. The SW entry is free with the Discovery Cove package. Grumpy & I had hoped that Jesse would have forgotten that, but, no such luck.
For breakfast we shared one of the pastries I had bought at AK the day before. It looked a lot different than when I first bought it but it wasn't too bad!
So after we got ready we headed to the bus stop, got on the first non-DTD bus we saw and got off at El Centro to get a cab. Grumpy saw her valet-parking friend from Jamaica and she was happy but her feet were still hurting from last night and she refused the pair of
Crocs I offered her.
This was one of the days where SW was having a Halloween Spooktakular theme going on and it was busier than usual. They had costumed people walking around and it looked cute.
I had checked the show times online and we'd made it just in time for the first Believe show of the day.
Except it's not "Believe" anymore. Today it was a new thing to show off the new baby that had been born only a few weeks earlier, they called it "The Shamu Family". It was nice. Nowhere as impressive as Believe but nice.
You can see the baby a little bit in this picture :
The show didn't last very long and Jesse went to see the whales in the Underwater viewing area.
Now this is what Jessica told me happened. She went to see the whales and took a lot of pictures and videos. So Jesse is leaning over, closer and closer, while some SW guide is telling everyone else about the whales. And she leaned so close that she banged the lens of her video camera into the glass, making a big BONG noise that starled everyone. They all looked at her, she felt so stupid AND she hurt her forehead!

I'm just glad this whole "clutz" thing is a family trait.
If we walked fast enough we'd be on time to see Allure. I wanted to make sure we saw all the shows today because I knew if we didn't, Jesse would find a way to drag us back to SW at some point and I was NOT going to let this happen!
On the way we picked up some trick & treating bags, although we never actually got candy but the bags were cute. Jesse & Grumpy also had me take their pics with some dressed up ladies, I think they were supposed to be jellyfishes.
Next was Allure. I knew Grumpy would hate it, she hates anything that sings and dances except Festival of the Lion King (she loves Timon). We got nice seats towards the front & center but at the last minute some really tall lady sat in front of me and I couldn't see the stage anymore. Not that I cared, I'm not big on dancing jellyfish either. You'd think I would remember, since Jesse made me see this twice this summer, but I'd forgotten about the bubbles. Since I couldn't see what was happening on stage, I was kind of surprised!
Ok so for those who actually like musicals, it's a nice story. I think. Some dude falls into the ocean and meets a woman, or maybe I'm confusing it with Little Mermaid at DHS. Anyway the music is very nice, I'll give them that, love that music, and there are dancing jellyfishes. See ?
When it was over and we came out Grumpy gave Jesse this look of pure hatred, and didn't say a word. She didn't have to.
Next on our agenda was the sea lions show with Clyde and SeaMore.
Now THAT show I like. Actually the best one is the "after dark" one they do at the end of the day. It mocks all the other shows and it is fall-off-your-seat hilarious! I especially love the awkward jumps and the big sea lion pretending to be a dolphin.
We saw the regular show that is always funny though !
A word of caution : before the show begins, while people are waiting and getting seated, they have this mime who is soooo mean. He follows people around and mocks them behind their back, like if you're walking slowly or if you're big he will make gestures behind you and everyone laughs. He's the reason why I insist on going VERY early to this show so he doesn't do that to me!!
There's a tiny little otter in the show who at some point is supposed to run through a little door inside the ship. I guess it missed the door or something and went straight into the wall with a thud. Awww poor thing !!! It recovered fast though. I love otters they're so cute - except they kind of tend to bite everyone. They're cute from afar though.
After the show we went to see & feed the sea lions for a while then decided to go feed ourselves instead.
There is a somewhat "healthy" counter service that Grumpy & I remembered and eventually found, we all got the same thing which I think was a veggie wrap, with fries to share, and some type of cake. Wasn't bad but it was almost $50 for the 3 of us. Food at SW is not cheap - but it is better and healthier than most of WDW's CS.
At that point Grumpy was tired (she probably had beer with lunch to get over Allure) and Jesse wanted to go see the penguins. And I wanted to shop (yeah I know, shocking!).
So we dropped Grumpy on a bench to rest her feet and went our separate ways.
I went to the shop and got a few things here & there, found me a shirt and I got some stuff for Jesse, she got herself a bear in July and they sell clothes for them so I picked up an army uniform.
Meanwhile she got to see her beloved penguins
We did a tour a few years back when we actually got to touch a penguin and she'd have done it again but neither Grumpy or I were interested, plus it does take up a big part of your day.
The last show on our agenda was Horizons which is the one with the dolphins, birds, and acrobats.
It's really a beautiful show, hate to admit it but even when I watch the videos on my computer I tend to get a little tear-eyed. Jesse & I love the music and we're always singing "into the blue- ooooooooooooooooooooooo" to make Grumpy nuts (not that it's hard).
Grumpy & I were more than ready to leave at that point. Jesse could pretty much live there, share a pool with Shamu and be happy forever. But we had seen Shamu Rocks and their fireworks these summer, Shamu Rocks was just okay and the fireworks show was pitiful so we didn't want to stay for that.
Besides we had Boma booked that night and I knew Jesse wouldn't want to miss that!
So we left Seaworld, stopping on the way to get some Dippin Dots for Jesse since this is one of the few ice creams she can eat (she can't have dairy). Actually we walked in front of the cart and she said "Man, I wish I could have some ice cream" and I remembered that the rainbow colored Dippin Dots are dairy free. We all shared one cup of them and it was yummy.
We grabbed a cab, there were plenty of them waiting. One of the guys said something really naughty - and hilarious - to me, only it took me about 15mns to figure out what he REALLY meant... (BTW I've chosen to leave the more "adult" jokes out of this TR, let's just say there were many and they were bad. Seriously, we have such dirty minds, we shouldn't even be allowed around normal people

).
We also stopped by Walgreens to pick up more bad stuff to bring home, and some juice/snacks for the room.
I think we were back at CSR around 6pm and we had plenty of time to rest and change since our ADR at Boma was around 9PM. We like getting a late dinner there, it's always busy way past 10PM and we never feel rushed.
No pics of that night though Boma didn't disappoint. We stopped by the gift shop and Jesse wanted to pick up a few things, AKL's gift shop is the BEST on property without a doubt. She wanted a sweatshirt but it was over $50 and too much money for her but I bought it behind her back & Grumpy gave it to her in January for her birthday.
Instead she picked up a bunch of little knick knacks, bracelets, pens, keyrings... I told her those things add up but she kept telling me they were cheap. Yeah right. She ended up spending over a hundred bucks & had to charge it on the room key!
We closed down the shop at 11PM and then went to find a bus. We got on a Downtown Disney one which stopped at the Lodge first, then Kidani. But at Kidani there were people who were going to the Lodge so the driver took them there. It only took a few mns so there was nothing to complain about. Then the driver started asking this couple where they were going and they said Old Key West. I just knew he was going to tell them he'd drop them off... and he did. Except he got lost and we went all around OKW slowwwlly without him stopping anywhere.

The ride from AKL to DTD is long to begin with, and Grumpy was getting upset because it was taking forever to drop these 2 people off, plus the driver never even asked us where we were going.
We finally ended up going to DTD and he told the couple he would drop them off after that, I'm thinking maybe he heard me & Grumpy talking... it was after midnight when we got to the Marketplace stop. Over an hour after leaving AKL. We were not very happy - well Jesse didn't care cause she fell asleep on the bus.
The good thing is that the CSR bus pulled right up and we were back in our room before 1am. It had been a loooooooong day and we decided to wake up late the next day and FINALLY go do what we do best : SHOPPING!!!!
